Exciting news I’m sure you’ll agree as Cole MacGrath makes his electrifying return in inFAMOUS 2, the second chapter in the best-selling franchise exclusively for PS3. Check out the stunning new trailer below:
Blamed for the destruction of Empire City and haunted by the ghosts of his past, reluctant hero Cole MacGrath makes a dramatic journey to the historic Southern city of New Marais in an effort to discover his full super-powered potential — and face a civilization-ending confrontation with a dark and terrifying enemy from his own future.
Gifted with extraordinary god-like abilities, Cole alone has the power to save humanity, but the question is– will he choose to do so?
Much more inFAMOUS 2 news to come, so stay tuned – this is one you definitely won’t want to miss!
Thing is, in this day and age, it’s super rare for a game to surprise anyone at E3 anymore. There are just too many leaks. And the Internet makes sure those leaks travel fast and furious. From the moment the info first gets out to the time when the hardcore gamers know about it, you’re talking 12, maybe 18 hours tops. Many publishers have simply given up trying to surprise gamers at E3 because they know it’s just not possible anymore. But back in the day – when E3 first began – you’d walk onto the show floor and have no idea what new games and new ideas you’d find as you travelled from
booth to booth. That sense of wonder, of discovery, of sheer surprise…it was total gamer joy. But these days that sense of surprise and discovery
has all but vanished from the E3 experience.
Which is why when Sony asked if we wanted to close out their E3 press conference by announcing the new Twisted Metal AND asked if we wanted to
try to keep it a surprise…well, we were thrilled! An attempt at a good, old fashioned E3 surprise? Hells yes, baby! Sign us up!
Not sure if you missed the press conference but if you did, you can check out surprise announce right here:
We know this is going to be the best Twisted Metal ever released. 16 players online, 2-4 player split screen, amazing new game modes,
helicopters, motorcycles, sports cars, all battling it out in highly interactive levels with all the skill, speed, and strategy you could ask for! It’s been a long while since the last console Twisted Metal was released, but we think the wait will have been worth it. We’re crazy proud of the new game and are looking forward to entertaining all of the loyal TM fans as well as earning many new Twisted Metal devotees with this title.
But the game is not done yet. We’ve got a ways to go so we could really use your help. The game is playable on the show floor starting now. So if
you’re able to get into E3 this year, please come to the Sony booth and give Twisted Metal a play. And then please hit us back on our brand new Eat Sleep Play forums with your likes, dislikes, issues, changes, fixes, etc. Whatever feedback we can get, we are grateful for. Early user feedback is one of the key things that turns a game into a classic. And we want this baby to be classic!
Ok, so that’s that. Twisted Metal is coming on Playstation 3! And we could not be more pleased! Now we’re off, into the bowels of the Los Angeles Convention Center to see the sites, play the games, and hey, who knows, perhaps discover a few surprises along the way! Stranger things have happened!
Great to be back ya’ll! We missed you!

We’ve been doing our best to crank your excitement gauges to boiling point this last couple of weeks and finally the time has come; the E3 2010 SCEA press conference is set to begin at Noon LA time (8pm BST) and Jeff and I are here to cover the whole thing.
There are few ways to stay updated: click on a link from a number of sites, such as GameTrailers, GameSpot, G4, and IGN, to watch the conference or follow a live text blog, featuring both Jeff Rubenstein and myself, for some trans-Atlantic banter.
We’ve teased you long enough with hints… Today, we’re pleased to announce that this Thursday we cut the ribbon and open the brand new Home Square and Shopping Centre! We’re really excited about finally releasing the new spaces, where we’ll be able to bring you, the community that makes PlayStationHome what it is, exciting new experiences. So read on to find out more about the completely revamped spaces and new content housed within them: there’s so much I’m not quite sure where to start…
We’ll kick off with the harbour-side Home Square, where you’ll find plenty of exciting new attractions. Joining existing buildings – such as the cinema and bowling alley – you’ll find all-new mini-games including Supa-Fun Robo-Goalie Time!!, a game where you will be put on the spot to kick home penalty shots past an increasingly skilful robot goalie.
Towards the harbour frontage you’ll find a video screen topped by a scrolling news ticker, where you’ll be able to find out all the latest goings-on in Home. Take a moment to gaze across the harbour view then have a closer look at the attractive new water fountain that doubles as a Polling Booth. Here you will be able to answer multiple-choice questions on a wide range of topics, with the community’s answers affecting the water jets in real time.
Once you can drag yourself away from all the new fun to be had in Home Square, take a wander past the cinema and through to the new open-air Shopping Centre. Surrounding an open central space, shop fronts both old and new are easily accessible. As a quick hint, if you’re looking for some bargains head for Threads 2 and see what you can find!
We look forward to welcoming you all to the new Home Square and Shopping Centre this Thursday!
Hope everyone’s been enjoying E3! Busy week in the office. But I’ve bravely taken a break from livestreaming conferences and downloading screenshots to give you a heads up on what’s in episode 11 of FirstPlay, which will be on the Store this Wednesday.
First of all, and totally exclusive to FirstPlay, we have the demo for Backbreaker, the new American Football title from NaturalMotion. If you didn’t know, they’re the guys behind the awesome Euphoria physics engine that makes gunfights in GTA IV a constant stream of reeling, cartwheeling bodies. Backbreaker offers something very different from the towering Madden series (mostly, dudes getting horribly canned) and is definitely worth a look.
In this week’s HD reviews you can find out whether Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker really is the best PSP game of all time, and whether Codies’ International Cricket 2010 can build on last year’s Ashes success. We’ve also got an interview with the guys at Media Molecule talking about LittleBigPlanet 2, and a preview of Ubisoft’s new RTS, R.U.S.E. No, I don’t know what it stands for, either.
On top of that we’ve got our regular round of Network Highlights – including a DLC round-up and the best of PSone classics – and screenshot galleries, this week featuring Killzone 3, Dead Space 2 and Vanquish.
And don’t forget if you’ve missed the minis we’ve given away over the last four weeks – Echoes, Blast Off, Age Of Zombies and Aero Racer – they’re all still available to download in episodes 7 to 10, on the Store now for just 99p each.
Please do find us on Twitter at @firstplay_uk, where we run regular giveaways and competitions, and email any suggestions, feedback or marriage proposals to FirstPlay@futurenet.com. We’re also on the official EU forums here.
