This Week On The SingStore (14 July 2010)

Nothing for me this time round, but luckily the awesome online battles will tide me over until the next update

Eases up my wallet since last update cost me a bit lol

But yea C’mon Nina get us more 90′s, the stuff I grew up with!! East17, Backstreet Boys, /\/sync, Spice Girls, All Saints, 911, S Club 7, Billie Piper just to name but a few.

Nothing for me this time round too! I would like to see SPICE GIRLS, ALL SAINTS, N’SYNC, S CLUB 7, BACKSTREET BOYS, BLUE, A1, BRYAN ADAMS!

also going to get the dusty – it’s good to see more and more songs from dusty being added over the months, she has some amazing tracks!!! how about ‘you don’t have to say you love me’ – that’s an epic song!!

The three I want aren’t available in the U. S. store. Why are there such weak U. S. updates? I know there are licensing issues; however, last update you released two songs on the UK Sing Store only, which had been recently released worldwide on X box Live for Lips. If they can negotiate the rights to those songs for everyone, why can’t the Sing Star team?
Meanwhile could you at least throw us some bread crumbs occasionally? Some more of the songs from past UK PS2 releases would be nice. I would like to see some country music. Do you attempt to negotiate with the Nashville record companies at all, at least for U. S. release. There are those of us in the U. S. who love Sing Star. I have all the PS3 disks, even though I’ve had to import most of them, and all of the U. S. PS2 disks, but after each update I feel more and more like the Sing Star team has abandoned me, and the rest of the U. S. players, in the forest. Please send us some crumbs soon. Heck, by now we are due for a full loaf.

Oh, and “Almost Here” — that awesome duet he did with Delta Goodrem (I can never get enough of duets )

I live in Japan right now and I’ve brought Singstar with me and I’m having a blast playing it with my Japanese friends. But they really want to sing some Japanese songs too. I know there are no plans currently to release any Japanese songs, but I’d just like to show my (our) support for it!

If I write about it every week will you release some?

Nina Hello and thank you for this information. A new SingStore update without any French song. More than two months without any French song. Yet on July 14 is the feast of France (the equivalent of Independence Day). Unfortunately Sony London Studio have not even released just a French song. We feel even more anger, but sadness, abandonment. What have we done to be punished this way? Can you send a message to the French, I will undertake to disseminate your message after translation. I don’t think it has much to do with punishment. I think a lot of it simply has to do with what’s profitable. Hopefully they’ll update the store with both more Swedish and French songs soon. ^__^

I don’t have holiday this year and every update, specially during this summer, I hope for French songs…So that I would be able to sing along with my french friends (who don’t speak english)on week ends, instead of lying on the beach…
Since more than 2 months for now, every monday out of 2, I’m soooo disappointed… Even the english songs are not famous (I didn’t know any of them this week!!!).
I know that getting french content is hard, but why can we find discs full of french songs on Wii?
I’m sure that a great french tune on Singstore would be more profitable for Sony because all the french guys would buy it! (instead of proposing unknown songs for everybody outside UK…).
I’m counting on you for next update, pleaaaase Nina!!! You’ll save my day!!

Dear Sony,

I adore your singstar game. Unfortunately, the games content let’s it down. Sony needs to include the worlds top artists tracks to make this game credible:

Michael Jackson
Madonna
Beyonce
Bon Jovi
The list goes on……

Until Sony can aquire these songs, the game’s content is always going to be second rate. Aswad and McFly are mediocre. I want “A” list songs!!

Raise the bar Sony and you’ll hear those cash registers clinking!

Are the SingStar guys looking into whether it, or a compromise is feasible? Will it ever arrive in an update or should we not expect it to happen due to licensing difficulties?

hey nina you told me last update that you can not put some michael jackson songs in the store but why cant you do it? Is there a promblem with the license or anything else ?

Nina, I seem to be having a problem with my SingStar Online connection.

My songs aren’t padlocked (yay), but I’m getting really slow online speeds. It is taking me >3 minutes to load the SingStore preview files, and I haven’t yet been able to download the new tracks that I purchased. User uploaded videos are also loading slow.

I’m not having similar connection/speed issues with anything else. Content from the PSN Store and from the internet in general downloads at the usual speed. I’ve tried rebooting the game and even using different disc versions, but it hasn’t resolved the issue.

I’ve spoken to other people online who aren’t having similar issues. Maybe it’s some Australia thing? Or maybe just me?

Padlocks on new songs for me too… this is getting really frustrating.

I’d even be more willing to accept it if you’d come out and say “hey, we have to move our SingStore updates 1 week later than usual” and have an update in 3 week’s time instead rather than having to wait an additional week for the padlocks to get removed. The way things are now, we have the songs that we want to download and sing paraded around before our eyes with a sign saying “Neeners, you can’t have these for another week! Tee-hee!”. And this is like the third week in a row at least…

My connection issues are fixed (YAY! ), but I ran into a bug that occurs when wireless microphones and EyeToy are both plugged in at the same time on my system (:(). I’d appreciate it if you could pass this onto the tech team for me. I tried to include all the details I thought were relevant, but if there’s anything else that they want to know then just let me know through here.

Bug description:
When the EyeToy video camera is plugged in, two issues occur:
- the wireless microphones make a crackling noise (audible in the live mic feed and in saved recordings)
- saved audio plays back at a faster speed than originally sung

Unplugging the Eyetoy video camera immediately resolves both issues. Plugging the Eyetoy video camera back in causes the issues to resume. The issue does not occur if a Guitar Hero-brand USB microphone is used instead of the SingStar wireless microphones. I have not experienced a similar issue with the wireless microphones or with saved recordings in the past.

I have uploaded two audio recordings of Hinder – “Lips of an Angel” on to My SingStar Online which demonstrate the issue. They are publically available under the PSN username ‘Tntnnlbtn’. The only difference between the two audio recordings was whether or not the EyeToy camera was plugged in — all other settings were kept identical.

When I sung with the EyeToy plugged in and played back the audio locally, the microphone audio played back faster than the original music. The short version of the song normally goes for 2:12, however the entire duration of my recorded audio was only 1:53 when the EyeToy had been plugged in, and my audio was out of sync with the original music. When I uploaded the Eyetoy audio recording online the original music was in sync with my audio, however parts of the original music are audibly skipped or missing (sometimes entire words are missing).

System info:
120GB PS3 console, Australia (CECH-2002A). Firmware version 3.40.
Both peripherals (wireless mic receiver, EyeToy camera) are plugged directly into the console (no USB hubs).

Game info:
The bug occurs when playing SingStar Pop Edition (BCES-00293) and Chart Hits (BCES-00846), both games with patch v4.40.
