Olga is still around but Lindsay has bravely stepped forward to bring the Video Store updates from now as I noticed a few of you wondering where they had gone.

The price of HD rentals really needs to come down. I don’t see any reason why they should cost more. In many cases, you can buy the film on Blu-ray for not much more, and get all the extras too.
I won’t buy movies in digital form under any circumstances, and when I rent from the store, I only rent SD, even though I have an HDTV.
£4.49 is well over the top, and that price point is pretty much the only reason why I keep my LoveFilm subscription going.
You’d get much more money from me if HD rentals were no more than £3.49 – I’d most likely rent maybe 3 or 4 movies a month, whereas at the moment, I may rent 1 movie every 2 months.

How come you can rent some content but not others, I only ever rent from the store, yet I see cool content I’d like to rent but can only buy it?
Posted on 14 July, 2010 at 9:00 am by Lindsay Iveson
It depends on the on movie and the release dates available. Most movies are available to rent and buy from day one but some movies are available to rent later. If are interested only in rental I would recommend checking out the New to Rent category in the store that includes all new releases to rent. Also we will keep you posted in the weekly blog of new movies available to rent. Cheers

why did my comment get deleted?
all i did was say it’s nice to see updates on the blog again and ask if a movie bought for the psp would play on the ps3.
or was it because i mentioned the ipod? i implied i didn’t want one, are you guys getting that paranoid or is this just because it’s me?
and mb’s on the blog as this happens, again, i do actually believe in coincidence, but this is getting too much.

Posted on 13 July, 2010 at 6:04 pm by HazelAM
anyway, i’ll ask again.
if i buy a movie through media go for my psp will i be able to play it on a ps3 at a later date?

Suggestions:
Have the rented movies streamed.
The movies you buy, you download them.
More HD movies and 5.1 sound.

How long do we have to wait for the Video Store in Denmark?
It is not fair! I live in one of the countries in Europe, where people is paying the highest price for the Playstation, but Denmark is also one of the countries whitch is waiting for the store and much more. We are every time one of the last which get new functions for the system. I can’t take it anymore!
WE wan’t the video store and more PS+ content.
COME ON SCEE, THIS IS TO BAD!

Holland… WHEN?!

Posted on 15 July, 2010 at 8:27 pm by Onna76_NL
You know Sony, if you release applications, why not releasing them Europe wide simultaneous, instead pulling the same group of countries always forward. That way you really show you care more about them than about the other countries.

Again, prices need to come down.
FYI – I am still purchasing DVD and Blu Rays from forums, Ebay etc as this is a much more cost effective way of purchasing (as well as more options for viewing on other platforms)
Until the prices come down, I see little point in the using this service.
Not sure if it’s still the same, but that last time I downloaded a HD movie it took around 12hrs for around 6GB (similar filesize takes less than 2 hrs via iTunes) – and ended up walking to the nearest Blockbuster to rent a movie for the evening.
The speed issue was an issue Sony rather than my broadband.
