With the excitement building for God of War: Ghost of Sparta the guys at Ready At Dawn have kindly shared some footage of Kratos doing what he does best!
A few words from the studio:
We’re calling this footage the “Midas Moment” since is shows Kratos’ battle against King Midas. It really showcases the living/breathing world with the environment completely fleshed out with people reacting to Kratos’ presence and every action. The terrain is volcanic with lava all around providing a great glimpse into another part of the world Kratos will explore in Ghost of Sparta and another example of the breathtaking art found in the game. This scene also shows off a more immersive “in your face” battle with up-close and personal brutality. It cinematically presents the brutal, bulldozing force that Kratos exerts to obliterate each and every obstacle in his path (think Poseidon kill in GoWIII). And with the inclusion of King Midas, it seamlessly integrates another popular character from Greek mythology into the GoW universe.
Hope you enjoy the new footage and if you have any feedback for the studio then please let me know.

I’m going to assume that you really want feedback and aren’t just showing off the pretty (it is pretty)
1- the dogs appear too quickly. I would actually suggest lengthening the corridor so you can space out the two fights. It’s annoying to pick him up and have to put him down again straight away.
2- increase Kratos’s walking speed when carrying midas. This guy’s a demigod, walking that slow while carrying that scrawny little man doesn’t fit the character, even if midas is weighed down with gold.
3- add a second or third animation for knocking out midas. in some cases people will be seeing that same animation 5 or more times in a row should the game be besting them.
4- This one requires the most work but would be cool. Kratos obviously has no concern for Midas’s health. Why put him down when fighting when you could make him into a weapon for temporary use (you can put him down too). Doesn’t need to be too complicated but it would be cool to have a finishing move where kratos turns an enemy to gold by touching them with Midas’s hand.
I realize that the game has probably gone past the point in development where some of these are options but you ask for feedback and these are the things I get from that clip

I agree with @Rorkimaru (#6) on all points. The pick-up, put-down instantly seemed really annoying.
Man, I cant wait for this one; Ready at Dawn are the head-honchoes when it comes to take advantage of the PSP!

@6 those ideas are really good actually, RaD take note!
@4 there isn’t way too much PSP stuff on the blog, it’s normally more PS3 stuff. And don’t forget, there are people who come on here who only have a PSP…

nah, never too much violence in god of war. just the right amount
Can’t wait for this. Looks excellent as was Chains of Olympus. See, it’s stuff like this which makes me glad I own a PSP and not the crappy DS and it’s overly cutesy crud.

@6
Those ‘dogs’ look like Chihuahuas
. Those in GOW III are ten times scarier, frightening and cooler. But a PSP is not a PS3:-D

I realy like what I see. I own a PSP Go and thought the first one was very good. Can’t wait to play it! I hope Sony Continues to support this generation of PSP as I believe I will not buy the PSP2. My PSP Go does everything I want it to do. The graphics are plenty good. I carry it with me everyday at work to play during lunch. The only thing better is my PS3, but You can’t put it in your pocket:-)

Loved GoW:CoO, and this will definitely be pre-ordered (as soon as you announce those pre-order goodies currently on the US site that is).
Since Naughty Dog were discussing partners for an Uncharted PSP title, surely it should be given to Ready at Dawn?
