The AU PlayStation Video Store is really heating up with some fantastic new releases. Everyone knows that the Video Store is updated weekly, but it’s the actual ‘quality’ of the titles being released that really seperates it from all other movie download services. Just take a look for yourself.

I think it has been a steady, varied week with new game announcements, some pretty stunning new trailers and, my highlight, a live chat with the always entertaining Evolution Studios. For the next two weeks I will be working behind the scenes, organising the gamescom schedule, but you can still expect a healthy stream of posts and some experimental stuff while I fumble my way into this new job. With the excitement building for God of War: Ghost of Sparta the guys at Ready At Dawn have kindly shared some footage of Kratos doing what he does best!

A few words from the studio:

We’re calling this footage the “Midas Moment” since is shows Kratos’ battle against King Midas. It really showcases the living/breathing world with the environment completely fleshed out with people reacting to Kratos’ presence and every action. The terrain is volcanic with lava all around providing a great glimpse into another part of the world Kratos will explore in Ghost of Sparta and another example of the breathtaking art found in the game. This scene also shows off a more immersive “in your face” battle with up-close and personal brutality. It cinematically presents the brutal, bulldozing force that Kratos exerts to obliterate each and every obstacle in his path (think Poseidon kill in GoWIII). And with the inclusion of King Midas, it seamlessly integrates another popular character from Greek mythology into the GoW universe.

Topping off our week of DC Universe Online Comic-Con updates we now have for you the crowning glory of blog posts, the trailer to beat all trailers (indeed a MUST see for all you comic fans out there!) the intro cinematic for DC Universe Online. Available on PS3 and PC later this year, the incoming Massively Multiplayer Online Action game is one you simply don’t want to miss…Enjoy!
