First Glimpse Of inFAMOUS 2’s Stylish Cut-Scenes

Countries: , , , ,

Hot on the heels of our E3 inFAMOUS 2 playthrough, we wanted to share with you the very first sneak-peek at one of the 2D cut-scenes from inFAMOUS 2. Check out the below from Edward Pun, Senior Artist at Sucker Punch Productions:

For all of our awesome fans who weren’t at Comic-Con this year, I’m really excited to share the first look at the 2D cutscenes from inFamous 2 we debuted yesterday night!

As Senior Artist on the title, I work with the art teams to help production run smoothly and tackle the huge task of drawing every frame of our graphic cut scenes. It’s time consuming and a lot of hard work but in the end, I hope inFAMOUS 2 will reflect our love for comic books and give fans the experience of being a super powered hero. It means a lot to both me and the team to see all the love you have for inFAMOUS. In addition, we may have some Comic-Con panel highlights next week to share as well.

Also, some of you may have seen this behind the scenes video on the US blog – enjoy!

The Friday Debate – This is Hardcore?

Countries: , , , ,

Two terms I hear and read a lot, when reading the forums and going to meetings, are ‘hardcore gamers’ and ‘casual gamers’.

But I’ve never really understood what exactly they mean. Most things I read suggest that hardcore gamers are more interested in shooters and casual gamers like more accessible titles, like Buzz! and SingStar.

But where does that leave driving games, or sports games like FIFA, which attracts football fans of all gaming persuasions. If someone has the Platinum trophy for Buzz! Quiz World, that sounds pretty hardcore to me.

The Friday Debate – This is Hardcore?

So, are you a hardcore gamer or a casual gamer; are you a bit of both or a ticking pendulum that sways between the two depending on your mood. Or, do you want to get existentialist and claim that neither exists?

Speak in the comments and let none of us do any work for the rest of Friday afternoon.

VIDZONE UPDATE: No Football = Festival Fever

Countries: , , , ,

Greetings music lovers! Now that pesky football isn’t around to take over everything we can focus on other more musical things (and get rid of all those football videos!) congratulations to all our Spanish users btw, I was in Spain when you won the Euro’s and didn’t think you could party harder than that, I have a feeling I was wrong…

Anyway, festivals festivals festivals. We are now well in to the season (in this hemisphere anyway) and as you know VidZone has its own festival which goes on for 6 weeks!

THE EYE OF JUDGMENT LEGENDS Competition Winners Announced

Countries: , , , ,

Thanks to all the people who entered the competition for THE EYE OF JUDGMENT LEGENDS by designing their own creature card, we received some fantastic entries.

All sorts of wonderful monsters, scary animals and fantasy beasts were submitted for the competition in an attempt to win some fantastic prizes from The Eye of Judgment series.

Watanabe-san, the game’s developer, has looked through all of the entries and picked his favourites, based on the design, creativity and imagination of each card. He was really impressed with all of the entries. He told us -

Seeing all the cards seemed to bring new perspective to The Eye of Judgment series, and we enjoyed so much judging each card and thinking what the game would be like if the card was implemented.

The top prize goes to Rosa Rodriguez from Portugal for her imaginative design, Luna Light.

THE EYE OF JUDGMENT LEGENDS Competition Winners Announced 1st_place

Both the illustration and the ability are really amazing. It looks like it becomes enormous immediately and would dominate the battlefield by projecting its giant figure onto a dome made with water.

Rosa wins a figurine of Taurus Monolith, which has been specially created for her using a 3D printer. She will also receive a large-scale copy of her own card signed by Watanabe-san.

THE EYE OF JUDGMENT LEGENDS Competition Winners Announced

Watanabe-san chose Ancient Mirror as second place, designed by Gerrit Märzke of Germany.

THE EYE OF JUDGMENT LEGENDS Competition Winners Announced 2nd place

We never conceived this idea. A mirror motif will generate new aspects to the battle strategy.
When it dies, it breaks into pieces, so the creature reflected in this mirror might get damaged, too.

Gerrit receives a PSP-3000 system, along with a large-scale copy of the Ancient Mirror card, signed by Watanabe-san.

Eight runners-up will each receive a voucher code entitling them to THE EYE OF JUDGMENT LEGENDS downloads from PlayStation Store, along with a large-scale copy of their card, signed by Watanabe-san

You can check out all of the winning designs at eu.playstation.com.
