For those users who are replacing the PS3 hard disk drive: we are aware of the symptoms with the system software update 3.41, released on July 27, and that it will cause the update to stop in some occasions while replacing the PlayStation 3 (PS3) Hard Disk Drive (HDD) if the PS3 system is installed with version 3.41.
To resolve these symptoms, we have released a new version of system software update 3.41 with a very minor change (the version number does not change) on August 2. If you are experiencing such symptoms when replacing the HDD of your PS3 system, we kindly ask you to use the latest data and try again. We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused, and appreciate your understanding and continued support.

one thing sony need to sort out is locked saved games cause it would frustrate me if i had spent alot of hours trying to 100% games like assassins creed 2, Bayonetta and other similar games which take a stupid amount of timeto do then the ps3 dies i wouldn’t want to do it all over again just because the save was locked for no good reason which means i cant back up all of my effort and they need to do something so u can play ps2 games because they put internal ps2 mem cards for no reason it seems

I am having trouble logging into the PSN on my PS3 after this update. Every time I try to log in after a couple of seconds it says that the connection with playstation network has timed out. The internet browser is working fine and I am typing this on it right now. Anyone can help? 40GB with upgraded drive

I’m in troubles:
- I’ve changed my 40Go HDD with 300Go one.
- Then, I updated my firmware to 3.41
- Now, my console freezes in the XBM from time to time, the only way to reboot it is to switch it off using the rear switch.
- After that, I generally have a message saying “You HDD data is corrupted, press X to restore it”. After this everything’s fine.
- Finally, and because I’m worriying about my protected save data (thanks for that rubbish by the way), I’m trying to make a backup of my HDD … but the transfer time estimation is way too long!! (around 14 hours for 35Go)
I tried to instal the new firmware (3.41 bis) but in vain:
- using internet: “you already have the latest blablablabla”
- using USB drive: “there is no supported data blablablabla”
Any help please?

One problem thats driving me crazy is that my machine freezes on any game i play offline in single or multiplayer,
after updating the firmwere and it never did that before the update can go online okay on youtube or ps3 store or ps3 world but thats all i can do
Also all my trophies dont show at all or sync at all!! .
Im stuck with a ps3 120gb cant upgrade again form the fatps3 i have and no help anywere. here are the games i have tried and just freeze

gta iv
ratchet and crank tools of destruction
in fact any game i have just freezes!Cheers for a rubbish firmwere update sony!! wish i never updated on my fat ps3 now!

I updated my PS3 fat to the latest 3.41 firmware version last week I was really looking forward to the upgrade and I still cannot upgrade my 500GB WD HDD.
New firmware being released any time soon?? I would like some space as I currently have the minuscule 40GB version which is out of space.
Sony I know you were quick to notice the issue but please sort it out.

Hi all,
erm, my 80gig phat PS3 won’t read any discs at all after this 3.41 update.
I’ve restored system files 5 times, restored system 2 times and installed this ‘new’ 3.41 2 times. Still not working
I’ve lost everything, du e to back up failing everytime at 13%
Really really really not happy at all!
Any advice?

I tried to update the HD in my PS3, and its formatted in fat32, but its says that i have to update to software 3.41. Then I reed that I should download PS3UPDAT.PUP, and put it on to an USB flash drive, but the PS3 cant find the update. Is there anybody who knows how to solve this problem.
