Recently, PlayStation technology guru Dr. Richard Marks visited London to demonstrate his latest creation, Playstation Move. I had seen some of his demos online and I was keen to meet him, so I took a video crew down to the Soho Hotel in London to interview him.
So now I’ll put one of those questions to you; if you could create a totally imagined game out of scratch to perfectly showcase PlayStation Move, what would it be?

I hear there were a few people having problems seeing the video but it should be all better now.

Yeah, this is the second post where the video doesn’t show up for me. Couldn’t see the MUBI one either. You sure you’re doing it right James?

Best move showcase app: Airport simulator
with multiple mini games:
Hostess(dual move): ‘Emergency exits located here, here and here..’
Air Traffic Control (move): (already on the way)
Pilot (move as flightstick, nav controller for throttle): landing/takeoff simulator
Ramp agents (dual move): direct landed planes to the gate with wands

I think any fantasy game (without any sort of guns) like an Oblivion would do great with the move controller – sure it’d be more tiring a full game with swords, maces etc with shields but I think it’d work well

An insightful interview.
I look forward to hearing about more move games.

I have a question for you James how far do I need to stand away from my camera?

That’s a good question. We’re having a live chat on Thursday lunchtime around Move and 3D. I’ll be sure to include that as one of the questions to the developers.

Oceans apart day after day
And I slowly go insane
I hear your voice on the line
But it doesn’t stop the pain
If I see you next to never
How can we say forever
Wherever you go
Whatever you do
I will be right here waiting for September 15th
Ohhhhh MarX!

i would say “move” needs an epic rpg with swords, shields, mages, warriors and so on… move is really great. i had the chance to play it on the german press-tour. and i love it. cant wait to get 4 private… and for that i wish there would be an exclusive open world-rpg-title – something like Oblivion -,… and maybe from naughty dog
i mean: btw: sony should work on an rpg! the last one is too long ago…

“if you could create a totally imagined game out of scratch to perfectly showcase PlayStation Move, what would it be?”
Simples; a ‘conducting’ game. The player has 2 x Playstation Move controllers, and they make gestures to perform music, based on the way they move the controllers (like a Theremin). But the gestures also affect the art on screen, and so its up to the player to achieve the creation of a specific piece of art (which is the objective), but to do so whilst learning how to control the music.
It could be really magical with a lot of imagination. Think of particular scenes from the film Fantasia…
