With the SCEE press conference covered yesterday, today and tomorrow are all about checking out as many games as we can in order to have lots of content to keep the blog ticking over well into next week.
My first port of call this morning at 9am sharp was the gentlemen of Guerrilla Games. We had a short presentation about Killzone 3’s multiplayer, followed by an opportunity to jump on for a game. Eight journalists faced off against eight of the game’s developers back in Amsterdam; hopefully you’ve read my hands-on piece by now and have an idea of what’s in store for the blockbuster FPS.
Next stop was another gent of the game development community, Alex Evans of Media Molecule. We shot a short video interview which is being edited as we speak and that you can look forward to seeing either at the end of this week or the beginning of next. He gave me an insight into LittleBigPlanet 2’s story and shed details of the incredible sounding music creation, which should give a new lease of life to those LBP musicians out there. Here’s the trailer for a sneak preview:
Next stop was the sausage tent. Seriously, have you guys ever eaten currywurst? It has been the biggest revelation of the day for me and I can no longer bear to eat ‘normal foods’ not drenched in curry sauce.
The afternoon consisted of presentations offering the latest on Gran Turismo 5, Sorcery, The Fight and DC Universe Online. Again, I’ll be writing posts on all of those games later in the week.
Meanwhile, my esteemed colleague Corey managed to get an interview with Ed Boon, the creator of Mortal Kombat, which we’ll be bringing to you very soon.
Tomorrow is another hectic one, on paper at least. I’ll be interviewing the lads from Evolution Studios about MotorStorm Apocolypse first thing in the morning and then we have a live chat at noon, local time, with some of the leading experts behind PlayStation Move and Stereoscopic 3D gaming on PS3. It should be really informative so get your questions in and we’ll whip through as many as we can.
That’s about it for another day. Time to hunt down some kind of curried sausage …

Sounds awesome there, I want to be you James :p
I have a question. What with Move and 3D coming around at about the same time, what do ou think will be the next big thing and how long until we see it?
Oh and online gaming with Move, any titles that go boast that yet? I would look into it myself but I’m going to bed lol

Ask them about that Torch game that was briefly seen in the developer update video at last years Gamescom. Ask who is developing it, when we can expect it etc. Cheers.

Ask Bioware directly on a straight answer on the feasability of mass effect 1? I dont want to believe that we will never get it unless it comes from them. If we won’t then a big
from me

Why do you guys keep ignoring our requests for the Sony gamescom conference on the PS3 (streaming, under TV in the XMB or as download from the store).
It has been asked a lot of times in the store-update blogpost but just ignored

A question about Playstation Move: I’m left-handed, will I be able to chose in which hand I hold the Move controller and in which hand I hold the other controller (what’s its name?)? It will be difficult for me to aim if I have to hold the Move controller in my right hand.

Yes, games will ask you which is your dominant hand and adjust the controls accordingly.

i need to get this off my chest. i thought LBP was going to change the way developers made games, however it didn’t. I thought it was going to be the doorway for a lot of creative people to tell thier stories, create small bitsize games for the world to play, however it wasn’t. Don’t get me wrong some of the levels in LBP1 are more creative than a lot of AAA games i’ve played in the last 10 years.
i was a little upset to be honest, however earlier this year i was treated to a tailer for LBP2, and once again all these feelings came rushing back… could this be it, the game to change the face of gaming? could this be the doorway? could i start playing original games, once that go outside the box?
Currently, the answer is looking like a big HELL YES!!! LBP2 looks amazing. This is what i’ve been waiting for. MM got praise and awards for LBP1, honestly i have no idea what more we(i) can give them for LBP2… except total and utter respect and a big fat THANK YOU!!!
