Let’s get right down to it – Mike has decided he doesn’t love you any more so you’re stuck with me for another week. Fortunately we’ve got some great bits and bobs this week that I’m sure most of you will be pleased with.
First up, we’ve got Shank, ultra-violent, ultra-stylish and ultra-fun. Carve your way to victory through a veritable army of shady looking villains, on your own or with a local co-op partner – Mike and I have given it a whirl and it comes highly recommended. Don’t believe us? Well, give it a bash with the free trial and see for yourself. We’ve also got the new Trial and Unlock version of Joe Danger for everyone who wasn’t sure whether or not an awesome stunt-based motocross game where you can create your own stunt-runs and rack up massive points multipliers would be fun… yeah, it is.
All those without Plus can get their hands on PixelJunk Racers 2nd Lap today and if you’re an early adopter and have yourself one of them there swanky 3D televisualising boxes you can pick up MotorStorm 3D Rift – ten of the choicest tracks from Pacific Rift bundled together and brought to you in three glorious dimensions at a budget price.
Are you a MAG player? We’re bringing you the MAG Persistent Beta client this week – but remember this will only run if you’ve got your MAG disc in the PS3. Keep your eye on the MAG forums, connect to the Beta server when new features and ideas are being tested and you’ll have the chance to help shape the future of MAG by providing your feedback.
We’ve got DLC for Naughty Bear and Mafia II, although you don’t need to purchase this Mafia II DLC if you’ve bought the game new – there will be a voucher in the box for this content, (this is just here for consumers who grab the game pre-owned and want to try out the DLC).
For PSP, the long awaited Pinball Heroes High Speed bundle is now available – four new tables to test your pinball skills against. We’ve also got five new PSP Essentials this week, including the first time a digital version of Warhammer 40,000: Squad Command is available on the store. (These Essentials titles will only be available on your Store if the UMD versions are available in your territory).
Oh… lest I forget, as promised, ten shiny Super Street Fighter IV avatars. And don’t worry if your favourite isn’t in this batch, there are more are hot on the heels of these.
I’m scary busy this afternoon working on magical secret projects, but I’ll do my best to answer as many comments as I can as I’ll be ducking in and out.
Bye for now.

Good Morning Ross
Hope Mike brought you back those Gamescom goodies. If he did you are welcome to share them with the community. I remember I did say that you have the better avatar than mike
I was wondering if you are adding the missing Gamescom trailers. I would like to watch the new LBP trailer.
Also just to let you know some people from the PS + might enter here and do alot of complaining. Good Luck Ross
Posted on 25 August, 2010 at 1:11 pm by Ross McGrath
He didn’t bring me anything, which saddens me greatly. Although he did sharesome very cool info with me so it’s not all bad.
The missing Gamescom trailers (I’m sorry I couldn’t update you last week on those, James wasn’t in a position to edit the post for me) are in the pipeline and will make it up on the Store at some point in the near future.

Did I say it was special? I just said it was one that had been previously requested – which it has! Give it a go, you might like it.

MotorStorm 3D Rift £9.99
This is $9.99 on US store. That is about £6.50 UK.
So Sony gone from ripping us off with dodgy $10 = £8 prices like usual to now just making it flat out the same visual figure?
I hope no one buys that.
33

What time does the store update?
Cause Im really waiting on Shank..
and the street fighter avatars also off course!
Can someone at PSN fix a copy of Tenchu 1 or 2 (prefer this one more) on ps1 classics?
That would really make thousands of people happy!!
including me!
Thanx
Posted on 25 August, 2010 at 1:20 pm by Ross McGrath
I will certainly add the Tenchu games to my list of titles that have been requested. I played a lot of the first Tenchu game back in the day, one of my favourites.

@ Atlus reading comments 2 weeks ago
Bummer! I was going to ask (judging by the lack of requests, it’ll just be me
), now that Atlus USA are publishing PSP games on the store, whether they would consider releasing the quite fantastic Yggdra Union in the EU store. It’s a great game and more people should play it
. If you read this comment, can you see if Atlus can get this onto our store?
Oh, and how’s this for a challenge. Konami released an old RPG called Azure Dreams on the PS1. I loved that game (one of the few I completed multiple times) and would like to play it again for old times sake. Any chance you can at least pop the question to Konami and see if they’re willing/able to release it onto the EU store?
Unlikely I guess as it wasn’t that popular but if you do manage it, I’ll err… I’ll be very happy
! Oh, and I’ll buy it and try to get word out to others
.
Posted on 25 August, 2010 at 1:21 pm by Ross McGrath
Hey, I’m always happy to speak to either the relevant account manager for a publisher or the publisher directly when it comes to asking about PSOne titles.

No new info on Crash 2 or the Spyro games but Scott Pilgrim avatars are a great idea. I will pass it on to Ubisoft.
