As a dev team, we’re beyond excited to see the release of R.U.S.E. drawing near – it launches in Europe on September 9, so we’re just over a week away.
For those of you new to the game, R.U.S.E. enables players to use manipulation and trickery against their enemies. In fact, deception is at the very heart of R.U.S.E., and you’ll find that without it you cannot succeed. With R.U.S.E., we aimed to create an RTS that goes beyond the established rules of the genre- we sincerely hope to have succeeded.
In any case, you will soon be able to judge for yourself, since we are making a demo of R.U.S.E. available on the PlayStation Network from tomorrow.
In the demo, players will be able to check out an exclusive mission from the Italy campaign and play as U.S. General Joe Sheridan, leading the U.S. army in a fight against Germany and Italy. The final objective: cut off a German offensive from withdrawing by attacking them from behind. Although the Axis forces are retreating in this mission, players will see that one should be very cautious when attacking a wounded beast… if you need a hint, or don’t mind spoilers, check out the “Divide & Conquer” video, which outlines one of the numerous strategies you can use to bluff your opponent on the road to victory.
We’re really proud of the game’s compatibility with PlayStation Move. Since the early conception phase for R.U.S.E., we wanted to create a strategy game plays equally well on PC and consoles, with simple controls and an interface that allows players to focus on the strategy, rather than the UI. Although the game plays like a charm with a standard controller, we couldn’t resist pushing things even further with Move support. It is really a matter of matching philosophies: we want our game to play naturally, and Move can provide games with this opportunity. So we used all the features of Move – optical, acceleration, and magnetic – to create smooth and natural interactions that allow you to change the view angle and zoom, control units and access the menu.
We hope you will have a great time trying the demo, please visit us at rusegame.com for more information about the game.

That’s the first video I’ve seen of this game that has me interested. I’ve seen some good review scores coming in for this (EDGE
and really hope I can get into the game so will be downloading the demo to see how I get on. But I have Move pre-ordered so this might just be the game I need to go with it.

I’ve been really enjoying the demo since I got it last Wednesday with PS+. It plays really well with the Dualshock 3, but I’m looking forward to playing it with Move, and to be honest, it was hearing Move support was being added to RUSE that made me decide to pre-order Move.
One thing I can say my experience in the demo is that getting attacked by a Maus and two Tiger’s at once, hurts, a lot!
Really have been enjoying trying out different strategies in the demo mission

I played this on the Steam demo for the PC and loved it so much I pre ordered the game.
But……..last week I downloaded the PS3 demo as part of the PS Plus exclusive and if I’m honest hated the controls……compared to a mouse and keyboard it was poor.
On saying that….when I finally get PS Move I will try the demo again and see if it improves the controls?
Finally like I said though….I’m getting this on PC as it does look a very promising game.
How many campaigns is there in the full game and what different type of games can we play?

@ thorgrimm where did they didnt say all betas??
i may expect that a game made/developed under licence from sony, we get a beta,
i know when the launched plus that we get exclusive beta’s and demo’s
well dead nation is exclusive becuase a small group received a key
so whats the purpose of plus then? if sony dont even give plus members a previeuw of there own upcoming release.
i didnt signed for plus to play dumb mini’s our using lame avatars.

this is what they officialy say about plus
Finally, wherever possible we’ll be making sure that members are included in selected demos and beta trials before they go live to everyone else, so you can be the one to tell all your friends about the next big game they ‘must’ get.
so where is it !

@18 Thanks for the video.
I know I said I prefered the PC version because of the mouse and keyboard over the PS3′s dualshock control but using the PS Move makes it just as natural as using a mouse.
I may well get this on PS3 later in the year when I’ve got Move now.

I’ve tried the PC version (beta), not a game for me although I usually like RTS.
What about Castle Crashers?

Hi all,
Just to clarify: both the demo and final game are Move-ready. So you can order the game now, and when the Move is out, you will rock!
Thanks all for your support on RUSE.

@killzonexx:
Where do you see words like “always” or “all”?
It says: “wherever possible”, so perhaps it’s not possible for Plus members for whatever the reason may be.
No where have they said that they guarantee that you will always get a beta key, so stop complaining and/or send Sony an email or something.

Played the PC demo and I loved it.
I actually want to buy the game, EndWar didn’t succeed in that aspect.
I’m an RTS-n00b, but even I understood how to play the game and the controls were easy to understand as well.
However, like marcindpol I haven’t decided which version I’m going to buy.
On the PS3 I would then be able to play it with (or actually against) a friend whose also interested in the game.
But from what I’ve heard, the PC controls are much better and quicker (as it is with RTS games in general).
I’ll have to play the PS3 demo to decide.

I swear, I think that PS+ Members should receive ALL of their PS Store Updates one day earlier than the NON-PS+ Members, in fact I might just post that on PS Blog Share =P
