‘Heads-Up’ Game Store Update (15th September 2010)

'Heads-Up' Game Store Update (15th September 2010)

Here’s to another week and another slice of the digital content pie; though this week it’s mostly about Move related content. To celebrate the launch of PlayStation Move we have a wealth of Move related goodies for you (can I say Move enough in this opening paragraph?). [Ed. Google will love it!]

To start with, we have the games Tumble (Move controller required) and Flight Control HD (Move controller compatible) available. Tumble doesn’t need much introduction, you should have heard about this title by now. If not though, let’s boil it down to the bare essentials…you can balance, build, and (surely most importantly) destroy… I’m going to leave it at that… what more do you need to know? As for Flight Control HD, your aim is to control a stream of aircraft, and land them all successfully, so for those of you who’ve always wanted to practise your aircraft landing skills now’s your chance

The Move content doesn’t stop there; we have nine…yes NINE demos for Move titles (as well as ‘normal’ demos for FIFA 11, PES 2011 and Enslaved: Odyssey to the West) and Move update packs for EyePet and High Velocity Bowling to ensure you can play these games using your newly purchased Move controllers.

We have a new batch of Special Offers today, with deals on PAIN, Peggle and Mega Man 10 amongst others, and to celebrate the totally awesome, and most fun day of the year, ‘Talk Like a Pirate Day’ (Sunday 19th September) we have three Monkey Island related offers. There are one week reductions on the first two Monkey Island games, as well as a one week introductory offer on the newly released Monkey Island Special Edition Bundle. So what are you waiting for me hearties…yaaaaaargh!!

As usual, there is more content than I am able to mention in my preamble, so allow me to point you to the full listing below.

Just wanted to remind you all of our Move content… I’m not sure I’ve mentioned it yet…and I’ll leave you with the words of Young MC, get out there and ‘bust a move’ (not literally mind).

You, me, comments…be there.

Arrgh! See ya chum (that’s pirate for goodbye).

Great Update!

I was expecting Sonic Adventure though.

Nice update..

Do you know about some Playstation Plus stuff this week..?

Enslaved…..cool
lots to download taday

How come Sonic Adventure is not on there, i’m sure sega said it was due this week :/

    Mike Kebby 15 September, 2010 @ 1:09 pm

I did explain last week that it was not releasing this week, it’s not long to wait now though.

Another poor PSP Update. Such a shame

    Mike Kebby 15 September, 2010 @ 1:10 pm

I understand that this week is quiet for PSP, however the focus for the update was always going to be about Move.

ChemicalBacon90 15 September, 2010 @ 1:08 pm   9

How well does Flight Control HD play without Move?

How do you direct the planes etc?

Very good update though. Lots of good stuff there.

    Mike Kebby 15 September, 2010 @ 1:10 pm

I couldn’t say to be honest with you…maybe just flail your arms about anyway and see what happens? ;)

STUPID_DAD 15 September, 2010 @ 1:08 pm   10

Wheres my plus sign?

Hi Mike, do you know when Sonic Adventure DX is coming to PSN? thanks

ROBERTWARNES 15 September, 2010 @ 1:08 pm   12

Hello Flight Control HD!!!!!!!

Sadly no Silent Hill: Shatter Memories, yet again :(

Wheres castle crashers?

And do we really get MegaMan 10 for cheap?I’m asking cos 9 is on sale in the US and not 10.

    Mike Kebby 15 September, 2010 @ 1:11 pm

Because that’s what I agreed with Capcom ;) There was never any mention of reducing 9 over here.

almighty-slayer 15 September, 2010 @ 1:08 pm   14

Wow awesome week. Love the sales for Talk like a Pirate day :D

No Tumble demo? :(

Great update, looking forward to trying Fifa and Enslaved. Any Playstation Plus surprises happening today…? :)

Holy Awesomeness!! You guys have a bucketload of move demoes, I was scared that the demo disk would be the only way to get most of em.

I’m gonna be picking up my 2 moves and sports champions 2moro.

This is Madness ! Awesome

GaiaScythe 15 September, 2010 @ 1:09 pm   18

Monkey Island only for PS3 or also PSP ???

twoofclubs 15 September, 2010 @ 1:09 pm   19

Arr me matey, great update this week!

I’m very happy that High Velocity Bowling is getting a free move patch as I’m quite a big fan of that game. Only two more days till the Move is out!

tutchmedia 15 September, 2010 @ 1:09 pm   20

Nice update although still no Castle Crashers for us :(

Any updates on it?

    Mike Kebby 15 September, 2010 @ 1:14 pm

The last I can see is that it’s still going through the QA process, though I don’t have anymore information than that I’m afraid at the moment :(

marcindpol 15 September, 2010 @ 1:09 pm   21

is it up yet?, great update btw.

PSMove FTW! I’ll have mine tomorow.. Will download Eye pet patch today! Oh and buy Flight Control ;-)

Shou_Kobayashi 15 September, 2010 @ 1:09 pm   23

Castle Crashers and thanks again for not giving Germany a Demo.. Hooray… :(

    Mike Kebby 15 September, 2010 @ 1:15 pm

You have ALL the demos except for Enslaved, and that’s because we can’t put free 16+ rated content onto the German store by law.

    Sorry.

AcidCrashX 15 September, 2010 @ 1:10 pm   24

HOLY POTATOES THAT’S A BLOODY GOOD UPDATE!

well done Mikeface and Co, see you next week solider, we need to take down some zombies! ^_^

Can’t wait to see what people complain about this week.

Move Demos :D Will defoentially download some later

and by the way, Anymore news about Castle Crashers EU release?

Best update evah?! Yup!

Wow, great update, a lot of MOVE demos, enslaved demo, flight control…I like this update

nice update :)

A lot of demos this week :)

Mike; Oddworld Abe’s Oddesey has disappeared from the Belgian Store. Could you please fix this ?

What an update ^^. Tumble, Peggle and Vibes for me this week I think. Nice to see that Enslaved demo. Can’t wait to try out all the Move stuff, wish that Ireland and the UK were getting it with the rest of Europe! >:/

I’m wondering Mike, were you able to find out anything about Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep from Disney/Square-Enix by any chance?

kingkrunch456 15 September, 2010 @ 1:10 pm   31

Has Sony forgotten about the PSP entirely? At least I still have mine which takes UMD’s. I feel sorry for the people who got a PSP go in europe because they can’t have that many games for it.

No sign of Phantasy Star Portable 2 on PSP? It’s due out on Friday on UMD and hit the US store yesterday. Quite disappointed with that.

Forsinain42 15 September, 2010 @ 1:11 pm   33

Great update. Now I’m really excited for move on friday! Also pain levels on sale! Wooo!

Mike any news on a dead rising 2 demo?

Nice, My Aquarium :D have been waiting long for this.

Got my Move sub-controller, Start The Party and Sports Champions today but no Move wand. Nice selection of things for me ready for when wand turns up ;)
And 2 Monkey Islands on offer too. Nice

I don’ t know what is happening with PSPGo titles. But is a shame.
Anything for the coming weeks? Just in case, to avoid to waste time checking the blog.

I know is not your fault, but I would like some kind of explanation from some relevant people. We are just been abandoned.

yawnn…boring update. where is phantasy star portable 2?

richard4481 15 September, 2010 @ 1:12 pm   38

Just wondering what this means

EyePet

Move Edition Upgrade (free)

Will the ordinary Eyepet be reciving a ‘Move’ update?

    Mike Kebby 15 September, 2010 @ 1:19 pm

It’s an update pack so you can use the Move controller with your existing copy of EyePet ;)

Already played Fifa 111 demo from US Store, it’s amazing!

Go on Mike, you beautiful man you! MAD CRAIC!

    Mike Kebby 15 September, 2010 @ 1:20 pm

Well many may not agree with you, but I’ll take that compliment thank you very much :D

oliverlester 15 September, 2010 @ 1:12 pm   41

FIFA 11! Brill!

iTemplario 15 September, 2010 @ 1:12 pm   42

No price drop for Chinatown Wars in Europe? :( USA got permanent price drop (now $19.99)

MajorGnarl 15 September, 2010 @ 1:12 pm   43

Just to be sure. The Move patch for Resident Evil 5 goes online today as well?

    Mike Kebby 15 September, 2010 @ 1:22 pm

Capcom announced at Gamescom that the patch for Move functionality would go live on the 19th of September I believe.

Great update, def download Move demos and Enslaved demo. :)

Darkscorpius 15 September, 2010 @ 1:12 pm   45

sweet, plenty of interesting stuff this week.

BTW there’s a bit of a typo…

The song by Dio is actually Holy Diver :p

Hi Mike, once again thanks for your help on Twitter with my code issues. Worms 2 is great! Will make a pirate-voiced team to celebrate Talk Like a Pirate Day. Arrrr!

Anyway, excellent update. I don’t think I’ll be able to resist that Monkey Island bundle and the Peggle and Mega Man 10 sale.

Also, good to see that Move support for HVB is free — will definitely try that when I buy my controller.

Finally, FIFA 11 demo. Thank you.

hutton1993 15 September, 2010 @ 1:13 pm   47

Great update, thanks! Loving all the Move content. Just had an email saying my PlayStation Move pre-order has just been dispatched and will arrive on Friday! :D

richard4481 15 September, 2010 @ 1:13 pm   48

and also

Premium Themes (PS3)
Space Invaders: Infinity Geme Custom Themes 1, 2 and 3 (£1.59/€1.99 each)

Where these not free on the US update?

    Mike Kebby 15 September, 2010 @ 1:24 pm

Hmmm, I’m hoping that’s a typo on the US blog, as they were definitely submitted as billable over here.

Absolutely smashing update this week!

Thanks Mike and the rest of the team.

iTemplario 15 September, 2010 @ 1:13 pm   50

And BTW. I still don’t have PLUS on my avatar :/
