The Robo Goalie returns this week to PlayStation Home, and he refuses to admit summer is over! Where better to keep the summer alive than on your very own SFRGBT!! Tropical Island personal space – available from Estates for €4.99 or £3.99. The SFRGBT!! Tropical Island comes complete with the updated Supa-Fun Robo-Goalie Beach Time!! game. Robo Goalie returns with a kit bag stuffed full of new goodies, and he’s giving them away to those with the skill to score the most consecutive goals. Play in your island apartment to earn 4 new rewards, or play the version in the Shopping Centre where you can pick up 9 rewards – the most challenging being the apartment itself (if you’ve not bought it from Estates)!
Big changes are coming to the Shopping Centre this week. Due to there being more demand for store space than we had supply, our builders have been hard at work expanding the Shopping Centre with a second area. Join us this week for the grand opening of several new stores! The new stores arriving this week are Billabong, Lockwood, nDreams and LucasArts. These newest stores bring all of your favourite content together in easy-to-find locations. Billabong and Lockwood open with new content as well!
Check out the Billabong store first, where you’ll find a fantastic new range of clothing. Ladies, you’ll find the Late Night Fleece hoodie (in three colours) and two new dress styles: the Cosmia dress in red, blue or black, and the Lucy dress in blue or red. For the guys there’s shirts, hoodies, hats, boardshorts, and finally a wetsuit. Enjoy surfing? Take a look at the Pro Surfboard available to show off in your apartment.
Check out the latest fashions from Lockwood in their new store in the original Shopping Centre. This week there’s three new hairstyles each for male and female, so if you’ve been looking for a new style they just might have the one you’re after.

Wow!
Will the new section of the Shopping Centre be part of the current one, or will it be treated as a new space?
If as a new space, will be be called “Shopping Centre 2″ or something like that?
Posted on 6 October, 2010 at 6:30 pm by Alex Weekes
Separate space accessed via the gates that will open tomorrow.

I’m assuming content will be updated more regularly with the new stores ?
Otherwise they will just be stale like half the existing ones that have very few new items over the year.
Posted on 6 October, 2010 at 6:45 pm by Alex Weekes
Each developer will have their own schedule for content releases. Lockwood have been quite prolific lately.

Will the revised shopping centre stop blocking/crashing the PS3 when traffic is a bit too crowded? Browsing through the item lists has become impossible as of late without the console freezing after a few minutes.

I can’t comment on client updates at the current time, those are handled by a separate team.

Just out of curiosity, could you have an interview with nDreams here once? They seem to release quite a bit on Home, and I’d love to see a Q&A with them on Home, looking back on Xi, and their plans for the future.

Nice content, but I still wonder on a positive view why PS Home is releasing tons of Content EACH week, getting better every time, and now also catering for all, when Home was first released it was quiet, now its like going to my nearest town centre, amazing, keep it up guy’s
all I need is to make the TV work and music work in my houses so I can watch movies with my friends and music, or browse something to do it like the coming MUBI, that would be good

Hi Alex, not been on Home for about 8 weeks or so and will check it out soon. But is selling items all thats happening with it?
There still a load of features missing from the original concept, and wondered what is the next big goal(s) from a creative rather than financial standpoint,
I feel it’s still miles off it’s potential.Apart from the very rare occasions my brother goes on it nobody on my list has been on it for at least a year.It would take a massive feature to get them to even think about using it.It’s a shame, like I said it had/has huge potential, but I cant see it being realised until the next hardware,I’m sure the money you make with items will ensure that Home is here to stay
but you need every user who buy’s the system
Not demanding, but for the next gen Home,I think the next system should have a dedecated hardware that runs a background version of Home 24/7 like animal crossing,no matter what else the system is doing (maybe even a cool 16 bit HD top down version as the in game Home,if PlayView system can be advanced to handle it,you might never need to leave Home to play a game) Also get voice chat and all those social features people want in,and home becomes part of every Next gen user from day one.

will you have to pay to play the personal space robot goalie
Posted on 7 October, 2010 at 1:25 pm by Alex Weekes
If you own the Island, you get unlimited free access to SFRGBT (I refuse to type out the full name again!) in both the apartment and the Shopping Centre.
Also – any left over goes at the game from when SFRGT was in Home Square can be used with SFRGBT.

@Alex: Can’t you get them to up the limit of items in a place? The ghostbuster house doesnt really give you much limit to display your trophies. With a bed room, a living room, a kitchen area, lobby and a basement (where if I had enough room would make an awesome games room) just about lets you have 5 trophies
all those shelves and nothing to go on them. Bah.
Also, arent we supposed to get free ghostbuster items with that place like America?
Posted on 7 October, 2010 at 1:26 pm by Alex Weekes
The furniture limit is a technical limitation that can’t be easily changed in the short term.

Funily enough, I was peering thru those gates you mentioned in the shopping centre yesterday, wondering where the enclosed space went to, and if it would lead to a second shopping centre. Lo & behold the nex t day my pondering mind gets it’s answer. I’m hoping something will be done about the loud screen which interferes with load up in Threads too. I think I just might buy the perspace…as long as I dont have to pay to play it. I wan’t that palm tree…and Paris perspace along with the byootifool complementary classical rug and the Thera/Santorini spaces, andd the Log cabin on balcony with waterfall club/space. Thanks for the new Alex. Youre tops

Great update, it’s wonderful to see the shopping center expanding. One small peeve though. A couple of stores show things in their front windows that aren’t available for purchase anywhere. Alex, do you know if the V-Store (Judge Dredd figure) or the furniture store (the red & white sofas) in Shopping Center 1, are ever going to be available for sale? Any idea who I can contact to find out?
Thanks again, and keep up the excellent work!
