I guess a fair few of you will have seen the awesome Intro Cinematic trailer for DC Universe Online; well, for those of you that have, check out this behind the scenes trailer to see how this six minute epic masterpiece was put together (it also highlights some of the easter eggs you may have missed on first viewing!)
For those of you that haven’t seen the Intro Cinematic yet, you can see it in all it’s glory underneath..
DC Universe Online is coming to PS3 and PC in early 2011. Enjoy!

First pertinent post.
I expected Tim to have a much more masculine voice. lol.
With regards to the cinematic, it IS extremely epic. I just hope the final product can match all the pre-rendered hype that’s surrounding it.

Hi SpiderMike_X
DCUO’s gameplay isn’t full CGI like the trailer, but there are a load of videos / screenshots at http://www.dcuniverseonline.com if you want to check out some in-game footage…

Hi, we’ll introduce Hustle Kings into today’s publish or by tomorrow at latest. This was a oversight, thanks for pointing this out – this month you will get three Full Game Trials including the brand new Ferrari Race Challenge.
Where is it?!

I just started playing the beta today, I even skipped college today. all i can say is.. i am going to remove my pre-order copy tonight. why? because this game is as good as infinity ward making a horrible multiplayer squeal.
I have couple of issues with the game, firstly.. i love flash and obviously i would pick his movement power, and what’s funny is when your playing MAG 2.0 the heavy Armour + Speed skill makes you literally run faster than flash in DCUO, and for some “gay” reason flash can run upside down?
The second issue (I didn’t mind the pay monthly fee, i was expecting it) but not only it’s monthly fee but also it has in-game cash shop “Currency – Station Cash” and on top of that DLC/Expansion. I wouldn’t even pay that much on World of Warcraft. DCUO is literally making a living out of this game which is OBVIOUSLY going to fail with this price system. why doesn’t DCUO just keep in-game cash shop + DLC and remove the monthly payment? that way everyone wins.

@ Elliot – Lol, I know the actual game isn’t all CGI. I’m more concerned about EFFORT. I’ve seen various gameplay videos and haven’t been that blown away compared to 6 minutes of CGI. My point being I HOPE effort is being spared to improve the game and not just the cut scenes.

hey hey
this game looks better and better each time i see it.
i dont actually get what this “game” is about though. you create a superhero and enter the “universe” then what ? you fight each other ? take missions ? is it complete free roam sandbox ?
this looks good but a world totally saturated with superheros might not play well.

The Blur Studio cinematic is brilliant and Jim Lee always comes across as a super nice guy, but everything else I’ve heard/seen about this game leaves me stone cold.
The actual gameplay trailers look random and confusing (with poor graphics), the pricing is crazy ($200+ AU dollars to play for one year?), the actual dynamics of the game seem really off-putting and there is just no heat around this game whatsoever.
For the 2 blog posts about the game put up over the last week there have been a total of 24 comments (and a chunk of those off-topic about PS+ issues). No one I know is interested in this game and I definitely don’t know a single person who intends to buy it.
The only way Sony may salvage this for the console market is to bundle online play of the DCU MMO free with PS+ membership. It still wouldn’t get me to buy it, but it might convince some others out there.
