Afternoon all! Hope you liked last week’s huge update, we have more for you this week including some comics you have been waiting for…
First off, a brand new Transformers series, Transformers: Drift, starts with issue #1. This four-part mini-series chronicles Drift’s origins as the Decepticon Dreadlock (!) and how he became an Autobot. In this first part Drift attempts to uncover the secret behind his mysterious rescuers… with shocking results!
We also have more Y: The Last Man in store for you with issue #9 out this week. Yorick finally uncovers the dark secrets his hosts have been hiding, and he’s also unexpectedly reunited with someone from his past… I’m not telling you who!
DC’s brilliant series Sandman also continues with issues #4 and #5. Morpheus travels to Hell and then has a pretty tumultuous encounter with Dr. Destiny, who has his eye on something that doesn’t belong to him… Guest-starring Mister Miracle and Martian Manhunter!
And for Batman fans we have three nice additions this week: Batman #676 and #677, starting the “Batman: R.I.P.” story arc… Another pretty epic storyline as you can guess! Superman/Batman is also back with issue #32, part 5 of “The Enemies Among Us” – where a crazed Superman goes against a super-powered Batman.
Also in this week is a brand new series from Markosia, Hero 9 to 5. This very fresh take on superheroes is set in a world where being one is just a job, and where the rich can afford the best heroes and the poor get the government sponsored agency… “Heroes for Zeros”! On their payroll is Jacob Reilly, a regular guy who just happens to be able to shoot flames from his hands, and whose girlfriend is also his alter-ego’s nemesis! All four issues available now.
And finally, Disney are bringing a very nice adaptation of the animated movie Up to the store. To escape a life in a retirement home, budding great explorer Carl rigs his house into a hot-air balloon, and steals away… with an unexpected stowaway on board! Fantastic story which is worth a read.

Quite happy I can still post whit my PSN account, some bugger tried to steal it, but luckily support got it back. Made it a intersting week so far, Been talking to both my bank, and filing a police rapport, (Another reason to not use debit/credit cards online).
Now to get some peacefull walks out of the rest of the week.
(ehh, sorry for ranting, just wanted it off my chest)
Sidenote, last week I posted a Video of the river I have been talking about, but seems after you guys looks at the posts, so here it is agin in part 2 of this post, whit dates updated to this week.
The good old questions:

Sorry for a twoparter, but But since last week it was but as waiting for moderator to OK, its still a twoparter.
Pauline, caught the river I was talking about 3 weeks ago on video a few days (and a week) ago. Now, I just need to find a bench close to that spot where I captured the river on video.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lv_qmXvWBvA enjoy.
Ps, dont complain of video or sound quality, Its the camera for the PSP that I used to capture it.

Hello again! Sorry to hear about your PSN account. Sounds like you’ve been on the happy sauce to get over the shock. I wish I could make you happy with some good news but alas, I have nothing. Although since Danger Girl is free you can download that.

Any idea when the last episode of Old Man Logan and Zombies Vs Robots Aventure will be available?
Thanks.

ahh, see this is where Pauline is better than me. I don’t have access to the release schedule. Is it Wolverine (2003) #73 that you are looking for? I’ll let her know when she gets back.

Good to see Y: The Last Man and Sandman back again this week, though Fractures filled the Sandman gap last week. I’d recommend reading it to anyone who likes Sandman.
It’s good to see the Batman releases are starting to catch up with the current ongoing series.
Really looking forward to checking out Hero 9 to 5 from Markosia though, it looks really good as well as Midnight Kiss #3. I’ll be making a b-line straight to their booth at BICS this weekend
Ohh and Twistory was a really great addition to the store last week. 13 Chambers was good, but Dust looks like a stunning new series. Some of the artwork in the Tactical Field Manual from last week was just stunning.

Cheers Ravenblade86! I’m looking forward to reading Hero 9-5 too. I love the idea that Jacob’s girlfriend is his alter-ego’s nemesis.
Have a great time at BICS!

I read that bit up there about Transformers: Drift and misread the end bit as ‘with sexy results’. Probably due to having seen that Simpsons episode recently.

Still not enough Marvel comics being released every week, although the amount of issues released is probably the best ever since the service launched!
I was also wondering about the potential expansion of this service to additional countries:
Will these additional countries have access to the back catalogue of comics that have been released up until now on the UK Comics Store?
Also as a request:
Please make it an option to download localized or “original language” versions of comcis IF there will be localization of international comics in these countries’ Comics Stores!
Thanks again for the update and for any answer I might get to this post!

my hope is that in stores where English is not the first language, there will be a section with all our English comics (where the licence exists to sell in that country). This would be alongside local and some translated content. This way you would have the choice.
I’m not promising anything, just saying that’s how I think it should be done…

Nothing for me, this week. Still holding onto hope that some more Spider-Man will arrive in the future.
Let Pauline know I really enjoyed Simon’s Cat last week. Despite the hefty price tag I was pleasantly surprised and it was a funny ‘read’ of sorts.
Thanks again for a good update, I’ll probably start collecting some Superman next year.

I enjoyed Simon’s Cat too, I’ll let her know.

y’s back, great.
i just realised, Y, and his name’s yorick, and i used to wonder about the title, the y part not the last man even i could figure that bit out, i can be so dense sometimes.
there is one question i have to ask, can you tell us if the dc universe online comic is going to be coming to the store?
dc universe legends is apparently what it will be called.
if there’s a title perfect for the comic store, that’s it surely.
Posted on 13 October, 2010 at 4:47 pm by Pete Stott
I do hope so. You’ll have to ask Pauline when she’s back.
As well as Yorick’s name, I think Y also represents the Y chromosome.
:-p

Ahh, another week without a 2000AD prog. Well, I shouldn’t complain as I have about 20 issues to catch up on. Just feels odd not seeing it there at the top of the list
Personally I’m waiting for the next Safe Inside, which I assume is up to the creator as its not up on comiXology either.
Hmmm, thats interesting. A lot of the Zuda comics have gotten to issue 3 and stopped? I wonder why that is. Anybody know?

Is there a date or even plans to have other countries be part of this? I am from Portugal and we are one of the few European countries that don’t dub anything. All the movies, TV series and music are in their original format. Honestly bring this to Portugal in English and you’ll have a fan base.
Could we at least get a taste or a date, something? I am sure you can imagine the frustration as we sit here and read these blogs and while our mouths water, there is nothing we can do.
Please, this would be something great to have.
