Hello all, it’s the Store Update post! I’ve left things a little late today because there’s been a lot to organise, so I won’t do my usual call outs on the content. There’s a heck of a lot this week so if you have any questions about anything then just ask away in the comments and I will do my best to answer.
That said, there is an absolute Kratos overload this week, so if you’re a fan of the angriest man in videogames you’ve got a lot to choose from. Oh, and there’s Castle Crashers, so you can stop asking me when it’s coming now.
So instead of the usual content discussion, here’s a quick status update to let you know that your feedback is being acted upon since last week:
A few of the PSOne Classics from the list of PSOne title requests that you helped me to compile have been submitted for Store publish. The process to get them emulated is underway and barring any technical or legal issues they will be published on the EU Store, hopefully before year end. I’m sure you’ll hear from various publishers closer to release, but I’m not able to discuss what they are at the moment (just like all upcoming content).
This week as usual, the trial and unlocks do not go to Germany. We are currently organising full retail releases of these titles for the German consumers and those will be added to the German Store as soon as possible – in next week’s publish at the latest and hopefully sooner. As a result of your feedback last week, I am actively investigating the free content in Germany situation and will let you know if I find anything out.
So there you go – your feedback in action. Thank you all for your suggestions and comments and please do keep your comments coming. I will be around for the comments a little later on, so if I don’t respond right away then you have my apologies in advance.
Catch you later!

C-C-C-C-C-C-C-C-CASTLE CRASHERS?!?!?!!?
Finally…
Posted on 3 November, 2010 at 1:12 pm by James Gallagher
FYI, I just saw Ross nip off for lunch as this went live. Will it be a sandwich, will it be soup? We’ll find out when he returns.
Posted on 3 November, 2010 at 1:16 pm by Ross McGrath
I’m back, it was neither soup nor sandwich. What was it??
I’ll never tell…

At what time can we expect this to be on?

Posted on 3 November, 2010 at 1:02 pm by Carnivius_Prime
Well I really didn’t like castle crashers so pass. I would love God of War HD games but I just don’t have the money currently. I may get the Street Fighter costumes though. That’ll do for me for this week. Still got loads of downloaded games to finish anyways.

Big update.

Posted on 3 November, 2010 at 1:03 pm by Suzzopher
Holy crap!! So much PSP content. Prinny for £7.99? Yes please!! I could see me spending over £50 easy today.
9
Posted on 3 November, 2010 at 1:03 pm by Roxas598
Nothing for me today. GoW Still too expensive…when will sorny (and other devs) learn Downloadable content should be cheaper than the actual disc version
11.99 for the gow soundtrack? ouch!!!
Ross have you anything regarding bloody roar? D:
Posted on 3 November, 2010 at 1:22 pm by Ross McGrath
It is the soundtrack for all three games with about 70-odd tracks on it, so the priceis probably justified in this case.
As for the collection, I believe that’s in at under the RRP for the disc version.
I totally agree that digital content should be cheaper than disc versions and I’m sure that we are approaching a time where that will be the case as digital is supported more across the board – remember that digital music used to be more expensive than the CDs once upon a time.
Posted on 3 November, 2010 at 1:23 pm by Ross McGrath
Oh, and Bloody Roar is on “THE LIST” (patent pending)

Posted on 3 November, 2010 at 1:03 pm by Carnivius_Prime
is Painamotion the Move upgrade for Pain then? I might give that a go. Game controls just fine with joypad. Not sure what the Move would improve on.
Posted on 3 November, 2010 at 1:19 pm by Ross McGrath
Yes indeed, it’s the Move update for PAIN.

Finally Castle Crashers, Thanks Ross

Looks like my internet connection will be taking a hammering later on with plenty to download between today’s store update, the new Playstation Plus content and Mubi. Good times.
14
Posted on 3 November, 2010 at 1:04 pm by GhostViper
Yikes, that’s a lot of content.
Did you just do this to make people like you more than Mike?
Posted on 3 November, 2010 at 1:24 pm by Ross McGrath
I wish I could claim responsibility but I’m afraid it was decided by the fates that today would be epic.

Escalation DLC?
Posted on 3 November, 2010 at 1:40 pm by Ross McGrath
Yeah, as snother helpful commenter mentioned below there was a technical issue that has held the pack back from this week’s publish. Hopefully we’ll get it out to you soon.
19
Posted on 3 November, 2010 at 1:05 pm by kingkrunch456
Brilliant update. Thanks Ross! Can we expect Legacy of Kain Blood Omen and Soul Reaver to be released on the store any time soon?
Posted on 3 November, 2010 at 1:33 pm by Ross McGrath
Soul Reaver is one I’m particularly keen to get published here. That was the first game I ever played with a dual shock pad… how’s that for pointless trivia?

Posted on 3 November, 2010 at 1:06 pm by Alestes
Centipede? Not much of a PSOne Classic, to quote wikipedia “the game received mostly negative criticism”.
I would love to see Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, Suikoden, Suikoden II and Klonoa: Door to Phantomile on PSN. Brilliant rare games (high prices on Ebay) that really deserves to be there.
Posted on 3 November, 2010 at 1:26 pm by Ross McGrath
I completely agree with the titles you’ve got there, all definitive classics.
21
Posted on 3 November, 2010 at 1:06 pm by Yeroon
That’s a real big update!
With enough demos/trials to be busy with tonight.
22
Posted on 3 November, 2010 at 1:06 pm by iLLuSioN29
Castle crashers! ;_;
Posted on 3 November, 2010 at 2:02 pm by Ross McGrath
There was an administrative issue with the Australian and New Zealand submission for the game which is being sorted out right this second, so you can expect to see CC in Austraia and New Zealand before the end of the week.
I said I’d get it to everyone and I meant it!
23
Posted on 3 November, 2010 at 1:06 pm by loonytoon1982
Despite the large addition of content there is little that appeals to me besides MUBI.

The DLC got delayed ( technical problems )

WOW! GoW Ghost of Sparta is only £16.99 that’s a great price! Tell me Ross can I get it today with the update or will it be the normal UK Friday release?
Posted on 3 November, 2010 at 1:41 pm by Ross McGrath
Because you asked so nicely, you can have it as soon as the Store updates today.

29
Posted on 3 November, 2010 at 1:07 pm by mrgreaper2004
what another bad update
not as bad as the plus update but still bad
oh and cubiod dlc on special this month but the full game given away next month …bit backward or is it a case of getting us to buy the dlc in the hopes the game will be good?
side note to anyone reading this…dont go over to the american ps3 blog and look at the last few months updates youll see too much good stuff we will never have
also why oh why is psp stuff still being put into the ps3 store???? they have thier own psn store on the psp so many times i have thought that looks interesting nearly brought it only to notice psp only
and last complaint vidzone is not new…it does not belong in the latest section and hasnt belonged there for over 6 months

31
Posted on 3 November, 2010 at 1:08 pm by AaronSOLDIER
Still no EU price drop for Fate/Unlimited Codes, for shame Capcom.
Any news on Final Fantasy Anthology and/or Final Fantasy VI? (published by SCEE).

Ross. great update, but would you be able to include the size of each file please? The American blog does and it’s a huge help when juggling PSP games about
Posted on 3 November, 2010 at 1:58 pm by Ross McGrath
This is something I want to start doing, at least for the larger content (probably demos, full games and the larger pieces of DLC).
I’ll try and get this started from mid to late November.
How’s that sound?
35
Posted on 3 November, 2010 at 1:09 pm by Opt1mus76
Sweet update, Ross. Makes up for the so-so Plus update. Who needs Mike? (Only joking MK. We miss you really)
36
Posted on 3 November, 2010 at 1:09 pm by StefNighthawk
I like those permanent price reductions! IMHO that’s a more reasonable price point for Disgaea 2 and Prinny.
I wonder if it’s better to get No Heroes Allowed instead of the two prequels. Does anyone know the differences between them?
37
Posted on 3 November, 2010 at 1:10 pm by GothPunk
YS SEVEN OMG XD (Heh heh it seems I was on the money last week Ross
)
What an update! Look at those PSP price reductions, I think I know what I’ll be spending PSN monies on come Xmas.
Does anyone know if we EU denizens will be getting the Ghost of Sparta pre-order bonuses that the US are getting?
Posted on 3 November, 2010 at 1:46 pm by Ross McGrath
By the power of Grayskull, I decree that if you buy Ghost of Sparta from the PSN Store you shall receive:
- A Kratos Avatar
- A GoS PSP Theme
- A GoS PS3 Dynamic Theme
- The Legionnaire Skin for Kratos in GoS
- The Official GoS Sound track
Let it be so.

Are we not getting Rush – Subdivisions for Rock Band 3 DLC this week? That’s meant to be out this week. Unless I’m being blind and it’s somewhere in that list.
41
Posted on 3 November, 2010 at 1:10 pm by almighty-slayer
MUBI and FirstPlay for me
And the GoW Sound track too, possibly.

jerus chris ross what a update men see people ross can also do what mike can
but ros do you know when we get the modnation racers DLC AND THE AVARTARS
Posted on 3 November, 2010 at 1:49 pm by Ross McGrath
The Stunt Pack for ModNation IS coming. I know last week I might have said ‘next week’ which at the time was accurate. Unfortunately it does look like it’s again a case of ‘next week’, but I really, really mean it this time.
Avatars I will find out about, I suspect they’re on their way though.
43
Posted on 3 November, 2010 at 1:10 pm by niall077
any news on when we are getting the MegaMan 10 PSN avatars?
we got a new batch of SSF4 ones last week so I guess there coming soon?
Posted on 3 November, 2010 at 1:50 pm by Ross McGrath
I’ve been chasing the nice man who looks after Capcom to find out when we’re getting the old school Street Fighter avatars, the Ghouls and Ghosts avatars and the Mega Man avatars, so as soon as I find out anything I will indicate that they’re on their way.
44
Posted on 3 November, 2010 at 1:11 pm by QuietlyWrong
Oh my, that’s a big list.
And some excellent price reductions too. This is going to be an expensive week.
Now: “Cuboid – Booster Pack (was – £2.39/€2.99 now – £0.79/€0.99)”
On the UK store (at least) the link to this pack has been broken since last week. Please look into it.
I mentioned this on the PSN Store update blog comments last Wednesday evening (comment 248) but nothing happened. If this isn’t the place to bring store problems to your attention, then where should we be addressing them?
Posted on 3 November, 2010 at 1:57 pm by Ross McGrath
No, this is the right place and I’ve got a man on it right now. Hopefully it should be fixed for the publish and I apologise for any inconvenience.

Castle Crashers not available in Australia after Sony also denied Australians Swords and Soldiers.
Great update, some GOW games at double the price they are at EB and GAME… idiots.
Posted on 3 November, 2010 at 2:01 pm by Ross McGrath
Castle Crashers will be added to Australia and New Zealand before the end of the week. I’ll have James update the Twitter feed to tell you when it’s live.
46
Posted on 3 November, 2010 at 1:12 pm by X_Weapon
Ok, stop asking, but Thanks for Castle Crashers
It’s a great week for JRPG(and NIS) fans on PSP I see. Great work!
Anyway I have to say this: the ‘Special Offers’ Section is pretty disappointing from when PS+ launched.
There are no more interesting offers (as PSN titles like DeathSpank, Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars or DLC), I hope the situation will change some time in the -near- future.
Posted on 3 November, 2010 at 2:06 pm by Ross McGrath
Here’s a little bit of history on the Special Offers section for you –
Mike set this up quite a while back and the process of getting content into the Special Offers is quite lengthy – sometimes it involves going to the publishers and requesting content and sometimes they come to us, so sometimes content is better suited to a particualr kind of gamer rather than another.
I’ve got a pretty full offer schedule for some really good games in the run up to Christmas and I’m in the process of organising a Special “non-denominational Winter celebration” sale which I’m sure will have something for everyone, so watch this space!

@19, I would rather like to see a revamp of the Legacy of Kain Quintology.
I liked the Soul Reaver branch more than the Blood Omen branch. The 2D Zelda-esque approach of Blood Omen 1 was still nice though.
Posted on 3 November, 2010 at 2:07 pm by Ross McGrath
Get onto Square-Enix – I would love to see an HD-upmixed Soul Reaver series!

Posted on 3 November, 2010 at 1:12 pm by SuperJag86
Brilliant update, absolutely fantastic!
But do we not get any God of War Ghost of Sparta preorder bonuses like on the US store?
They have a pretty awesome pack and it would be such a shame to miss out on it.
Also as for PSX suggestions I hope Crash Bandicoot 2 is on the list, I would love to play that again, it was my favourite
Posted on 3 November, 2010 at 2:09 pm by Ross McGrath
You shall miss out on nothing, good sir. Read up a bit and you’ll see you get a load of freebies as well.
