It’s that time of the week again… how time flies. Yes, another Store ‘Heads-Up’date (™ pending) is here and I am here along with it to let you know what we have for you.
There’s a good selection of new games for both platforms this week, as well as a wealth of DLC for various titles (not least the PS3 Exclusive Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood Copernicus missions).
I don’t have much to talk about this week – there have been a couple more PSone submissions that I’m sure you’ll all be very pleased with once they’re ready to go (don’t ask me which, you know I can’t tell you!)
I’ll be around for comments of course as usual, so enjoy your content and talk to you soon!

Totally agree. I can really see no point in half the new features with the play TV update. How many people do they really think will be wanting to ‘chat’ with other people whilst watching a program. I watch TV to relax, not write a thesis on the program I’m watching. lol.
That said I have paid for the update so I can use series link, as I would imagine a fair few of people will.. Quite a sneaky tactic sony.

I thought Auditorium for a dead-cert for Europe. I really hope I wasn’t mistaken. The game looks so good! Maybe, it’s just a matter of time…

When will we get all the other Capcom avatars that are avaliable in the US store?
Why does it take so long for a bunch (which they are in essence) a couple of pictures?
Thanks for you time.

Is there any news about “Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 Portable” getting a download-release on the European Store? The US Store has a discount on that game, as well as the remake of the original Persona. Me, as a die-hard fan of the series, would very much like to download the Portable version of the third game. Any word about that?

I know some aren’t happy with the paid PlayTV update but given its the first update that had to be paid for and we’ve had several great features previously I think its worth it. Series link will be worth its weight over time and I can see the social chat being really good on reality TV or sports that are broadcast live if you get the right mix of people.

Hey Ross.
Every so-often I’ll drop by and pester to have some of my old favourite PSP games put on the store, as a thank you for getting the PSPGo.
I’m beginning to give up hope of ever seeing some of these titles gracing my shiny little machine.
What are the chances of getting;
SSX On Tour?
Tony Hawk’s Underground 2: Remix?
Ace Combat X?
Or, in short, should I just completely give up on these, given that they’re probably not in high demand.
Thanks,
Liamabob.

Heya Ross!
I don’t know if Mike told you about our secret agreement! I’m sure he’ll deny it if you asked him now, but he use to send me free psn games after each update! I just had to leave the secret phrase in the comments section and then he’d send it to me via psn! so *cough* I don’t play scary games alone *cough*.
On a more real matter, what’s the chance that EA releases Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit as a Digital game? I’m thinking in the lines of Burnout. Surely this module worked with burnout? Hell I wouldn’t have bought burnout if it wasn’t released on the store to be honest!
On that note! Please forward on the request for MAG to be a Download title! I really can’t imagine that the choice to do this would be bad. Hell I’ll double dip!

Hi Ross,
Not sure I’ll get a response on the 5th page of the comments, but it’s 8:15am here in Sydney, Australia, and we’re all just waking up!
I understand that there will be a distinct PlayTV post, however as this is relates to advertised store content and pricing, it’s probably best said here as well.
The new paid for content for PlayTV was advertised to contain five new features back on the 20th August. Out of the five, one was marked UK only and two as not being available in Australia. I work in a media role here in Sydney so I’m well aware of the idiosyncrasies of the landscape (the unrealistic restrictions of Freeview etc.) which lead to these differences. However I am concerned that the paid for update for PlayTV advertises features such as the enhanced guide in the description on the PlayStation Store. (cont).

Posted on 17 November, 2010 at 9:21 pm by Scubafinch
(cont. from before)
There is no indication on the actual store that Australia will only receive partial content, which seems to be a significant oversight. To add insult to injury, the content is AU $12.95 (£7.97 at current rates). So you’re effectively saying we have to pay more, for much less.
I’ve been a real proponent of Sony’s PS3 and PlayTV since both launches as I believe that they are great products. However some serious effort needs to be put into a fair pricing structure and appropriate communication.
That’s my 10 cents…. around 6.2p, in case you’re interested.

>> Hey mike, as you now work for SEGA … how come we get shafted on
>> price for crazy taxi? … $10 does not equal £8, it should be
>> £6.50 at the most
$10 / exchange + 17.5% vat is approx £7.50 so the asking price is pretty close. though you’d have to ignore macroeconomics and have game prices fluctuate with exchange rates every week.. in which case everyone would wait for a favourable rate to get it cheaper – that would work for the games industry, right?
>> God i wish SCEA took over the overall running of all the stores
it wouldn’t work. ask the canadians or mexicans. scea doesn’t deliver equality for 3 stores, it wouldn’t have a hope in hell doing it for 28.

Publishers need to stop selling really god-awful PSone classics on the store.
Anyone hoping for Japanese Imports shouldn’t hold their breath. Publishers aren’t interested in releasing PAL titles so they sure as hell won’t bother with Imports.

So just confirming that the series link function will not work in Australia?
I think the description for the item in the store needs to be updated to reflect this as I was about to drop the money on it when I looked on the PlayTV’s update info to see it doesn’t apply to Australia.
Is this something that is being looked at or will it never happen due to limitations at our end?

My copy of AC Brotherhood arrived on the mail today, so definitely picking up the free DLC. Thanks!
Kinda wondering what happened to Assassin’s Creed: Ascendance though. Ubisoft said that it has been released on PSN already..? I couldn’t find it, and US store doesn’t have it either, apparently.

I’ve decided I hate living in Australia. We didn’t even get the few games I was actually looking forward to getting for PSP this year. ie. ClaDun and ZHP. Is there even a tiny chance they will ever be released here? I really want them.

We all should be an interesting possible user base.. When will it be launched already.. It is taking like forever.. With no word.
You know what SCEE not communicating is equal to no understanding. Like I said before sharing is caring so share the info with us.
When:
Video store
Comic store
descend PSONE classics
Netflix/lovefilm type of services
Cloud saves
Xchat
And so many more that the fanbase/userbase is crying out for.

What’s going on with the PlayTV update? bit annoyed with this, I’ve been waiting for ages for the series link update which I bought this morning, but then as it was background recording and I went to play Black Ops, it said it had to quit PlayTV first!!, then it restarted the recording when I finished playing, WTF?!?! it never did this before, anyone else noticed this? THIS NEEDS FIXING OR I WANT MY MONEY BACK!!!

oh my god there a surprise Sony Europe have not been listening to there customers did they not get the idea form the comments on what people said about the play TV update it was something like F**K the face book Crap and we would like the series link (which should of been available when originally released as all free-view boxes do) low and behold they release the patch want £6.29 for it SONY EUROPE ARE YOU MAD very soon that box will be obsolete after the switch over then you going to try and rip people of with the new version of box which i would of brought but after this total con and rip off there is know way i will buy the new box when realised i will just go out and buy a normal box for half the price and have serious linking. well done Sony Europe you have lost one customer for play TV and I’m sure you have lost Meany more and if any one asks if i recommend play TV to them I shell tell them no buy a normal free-view box and save yourself money and save you self from getting ripped off by Sony Europe.

Developing features no one wants is corporate suicide, I’d like to see the market research for this update.
Stop wasting your developers time and add some real useful features
I would pay a pound for the series link but six quid for mostly useless features no way.
