Hi everyone, I’m Envisager (or Vissy as some like to call me!) one of the MVPs from the Official PlayStation Forums, some of you might already know me from events I host for the community!
Follow me on twitter (@Envisager_) to hear more about those!
A few weeks ago, I was invited to London Studios to see first hand how the new SingStar titles, SingStar Dance and SingStar Guitar, were shaping up, and chat with some of the awesome team who bring us the ultimate party game!
During my time at London Studios on the wet and soggy Thursday afternoon, I was given the opportunity to chat and pose questions to Mike Rouse, Senior Producer of SingStar and was shown how the new versions of the game functioned by Charlie Hasdell, Principal Designer of SingStar. This was before being given the chance to prove my worth against Charlie and some of the developers of the game!
Of course, this was all captured on video for your enjoyment, and my embarrassment
What can I say about the new versions of the game? Well I have been a fan of SingStar from the first instalment, and having been lucky enough to get a sneak preview of the new titles; it’s made me even more impatient to get hold of them on release! They both bring exciting new elements to the game, which is brilliant if singing isn’t your bag, you now have the option to have a little boogie or pick up your guitar controller and strum along! I for one am looking forward to seeing the community uploaded dancing videos on SingStar online!
Now let’s all sit back, watch the nice video and let the mocking of my dancing and singing skills commence!

Hey Vissy, sounds like you had a great time. Did you get a chance to meet any of the handsome Community Team while you were there?

A star in the making, how many “takes” did you do to get that entrance to the building so smooth?
Posted on 22 November, 2010 at 3:40 pm by Chris Bruce
I heard he nailed the key ‘entrance scene’ first time. A consumate professional.

We nailed that shot on take 17
I personally think they just wanted me to walk in the rain

I’m glad I bought Singstar Dance for the missus for Christmas as I was impressed with the move controller movements for Outkast’s ‘Hey ya”, just like the music video

Purchased singstar dance yesterday and once I’d drank a few glasses of wine me and the girlfriend had a great laugh. Although we dis have a little problem with calibration but discovered it was down to us changing the lighting in the room part way through the process. And having spot lights in the ceiling which matched with the area where the light ball was. Haven’t tried singstar guitar yet.
Any ideas on prices of singstore tracks yet?

Glad to hear you are enjoying the dancing! Any videos we can watch on SingStar.com?
SingStar Dance add-ons cost €0.50 /£0.40. You must also own the singing track from the SingStore.

What did the goodiebag contain?
Posted on 22 November, 2010 at 6:20 pm by Envisager
Ooh, there was tons of cool stuff! T-Shirts, Pens, Badges and a couple of pumpkins! I think MusterBuster snuck those in, you know what he’s like!

Envisager – you are a natural rock star!
The SingStar staff? …not so much :p

We love our cushions.
Posted on 22 November, 2010 at 6:33 pm by Envisager
Those are the most comfortable cushions in the world! I tried sneaking them out but then remembered how scary the security guard looked on the way in

I noticed each dancer was using one Move controller – is there an option for one player to use two Move controllers? It just seems a little odd to have one hand empty while performing the same gestures with both hands. Looks like fun though.
Posted on 22 November, 2010 at 4:21 pm by Chris Bruce
You only need one controller to play SingStar Dance, two if there are two of you!

Looks good, although the video makes it painfully obvious that you need to release some wireless headset mics quickly…
P.S. A SingStar post without Nina? Blasphemy!

Awesome!
But… No wireless mics? Cheapskates
Well done Vissy

How great to our very own Vissy The Hedgehog on the PS Blog
Looks like you had a great day, mate. Now tell me honestly… when you first walked into the lobby did it look anything like The Matrix? Did you expect to see armed guards swarm around you to prevent you from reaching Agent MusterBuster?

Aww Fed, it was awesome! They don’t know it yet, but I have moved in and am currently residing under a desk in marketing!
