Hello again, it’s time for another Digital Comics Store update. This week we have a huge update and loads more content from BOOM! Studios. Let’s have a look:
DC Comics deliver us The Flash: Rebirth #1 a six part mini series. Geoff Johns and Ethan Van Sciver, the visionaries responsible for the blockbuster GREEN LANTERN: REBIRTH and THE SINESTRO CORPS WAR, comes the start of an explosive and jaw-dropping epic that will reintroduce to Barry Allen, the modern age Flash who single-handedly birthed the Silver Age of comics! DC history will be made, and the Flash legacy will be redefined!
DC also release Supernatural: Origins #1 which is a must buy for any fan of the TV Show
From Marvel we finally have the much requested series The Punisher (2001). Written by industry legend Garth Ennis, Issues 1 to 4 are available now.
IDW bring us another dose of Silent Hill, this time with Past Life #1. We also see the forth issue of Zombies vs Robots: Aventure which I can’t recommend highly enough!
Finally from BOOM! Comes Cold Space, written by none other than Samuel L. Jackson! When an on-the-run outlaw crash-lands on a hostile planet on the brink of civil war, he finds himself in the crossfire between two warring factions. But in chaos lies opportunity – because where there’s war, there’s money to be made.
Fans of Steve Niles will also want to check out Giant Monster. The year is 2013. Astronaut Don Maggert’s first solo manned space flight has him disappear in the grip of an intergalactic horror. Returning to earth, he’s been transformed into something that will throw the entire planet into peril!

Ahh, Just 2 presents left to get for christmas, I am a bit late this year..
All I want for christmas from PSN is access to the comics store.
So how are the christmas preparations going for you all?
You know, when the comics come here, I will have to get a 32GB memorystick.. sigh.
The good old questions:
Release in Scandinavia/rest of EU?
Comics reader for PS3
And Crossregion gifting?

Hey Shadowdragoon, you are more organised than me. I haven’t even started thinking about christmas presents.
But you may have guessed, we don’t have any update for you on your questions.

I can’t rule out anything. But not sure we’ll ever see the DC vs Marvel series. Who’d take the money?

A much more respectable update from Boom! this week, I’m still not sure why they would of wanted to launch last week with only three comics for download.
It’s great to see Flash: Rebirth at last, I’ve been waiting to read that one so I think that will be top of reading list even though I’ve got a two week backlog to get through thanks to GT5 taking all my time!
Oh and we need Requiem: Vampire Knight on the store Pete, I’m reading the printed collections and its much to good for people to not know about it!

GT5 can wait
Nah, got my copy yesterday. I just need to find a way of getting the kids and wife out the house for a few hours / days / months.

This is the one thing I’m missing, after upgrading my phone and passing my PSP onto my daughter – no digital comics on the train home from work. All the podcasts I watched on my PSP I still get on my new phone, but not my comics. I understand that the PSN exists to support and extend PlayStation hardware, but I wish there were some kind of reader for other devices.

Any chance of releasing multiple issues each week of the older releases? I got the remainder of Y: The Last Man fom another source last week. I’d have preferred it on the PSP, but I honestly didn’t want to wait until next autumn for the conclusion.

@Pete I would say you will at least need them out of the way for at least a few weeks/months for GT5 if the amount I’ve been playing it is anything to go by lol

Any news on new Batman comics from DC. I see they are rolling out The Dark Knight returns on their own download service. I would love to see some old classics like the The Long Halloween and The Killing Joke up, I am deliberately holding back on buying the physical comics in this hope.
What about the new Assassin’s Creed comic, any chance we will see that.

Is Digital Comics still coming to the Netherlands? The website is saying nothing for already a year! Can you tell us maybe when we can expect Digital Comics in the Netherlands?

There’s a Supernatural comic?! I’m gonna have to look into this. Any idea if its canon?

@jorispelgrom If they do they’ll just say by the end of 2011 or something and then it doesn’t happen again.
Anyway. Another plea to make this happen in the rest of the EU.
And let it be soon! It’s pretty sad seeing so many stuff on the PS blog that we don’t get every week.

Will Azure be back? How about Iron Man 2008, both seem to have stopped part way through their stories??

If you build it, we will buy.
Seriously, how hard is it for SCEE to build the comics store in the rest of Europe.
Comics don’t take up much storage space and the impact on the store database wouldn’t be big.
We (the consumers) can live with the fact that there are currently only english language publishers on the store.
Releasing the store might actually be the push a native language publisher needs to release their native language comics.
More than 99% of my physical comic book collection are from english publishers (Viz Comics, Darkhorse, Tokyopop, Oni Press, …)
As my wife is complaining about the space this physical collection is occuping I would be glad to be able to start a digital counterpart on the PSP. I especially love my Metal Gear Solid Digital Novel as I find it the way digital comics could innovate with sounds and fore/background focusing. I hope some artists/publishers will be able to do the same on your digital comic reader (or could be possible on a future update)
bla bla bla, deliriously awaiting the release of the comics store in Belgium.

Can I view EU Digital Comics bought from the EU Store using my UK Account and paid for from my UK bank on my PSP here in the UK yet?
No, of course I can’t. Because Sony say it is a “Japanese” PSP.

When are you going to remove this stupidly pointless restriction?
