Hi Mr Lopes,
I answered a couple this morning and we have also spoken before. I remember you
Unfortunately I do not have any news to share on new country updates as I look after UK as I have mentioned previously. New countries will be launching next year and as soon as I have more information I will share it.
Best

Shame, I’ve just sent back The ‘Expendables’ Blu-Ray to Love Film last week.
Great film though, nice throwback to the action flicks of 80′s and 90′s.
That guy’s automatic shotgun is the absolute best bit of the film though ;p

Dear lindsay, your company made the promiss to deliver the vidzone to the remaining countries of the eu before the end of 2010.
With only 18 workingdays remain, please deliver.
Sony was able to remove functionallity from systems worldwide(linux)
But is not able to put the flag on yes for availability
Posted on 7 December, 2010 at 1:03 pm by Lindsay Iveson
Dear S-Cript,
Do you mean VizZone or the Video Store? I look after the UK Video Store.
I can tell you that new countries will be launching next year but I do not have any infomation yet on which ones they will be.

We were promised video store in more countries before the years end this summer. Here we are, only a few week away from the years end and SCEE is silent as the pig I am gonna eat chrismas day!
It is one thing to break a promise (you never deliver to your userbase outside UK anyway), but not saying anything about it is just rude! Get your act togheter, your userbase is paying your bills, so show some kind of respect.

Hi Lindsay.. yes I know we have spoken before I remember you to:). I respect you being responsible for the UK..
Hence the topic name changed in UK videostore. Ok so you just confirmed not to expect launches for the remainder of 2010. Thanks for the confirmation.
I know you will give us the information already available when you get the go ahead. It is just frustrating I hope you can understand that. We are talking about a service that has been live since 2008, I actually don’t mind to wait a bit longer but just talk to us give us information.
The need to know bases just don’t cut it.. Honesty often is the best road to take..

You are only in charge of UK store, so can you give us the relevant contact? When you go to “contact us” on the Norwegian playstation site a UK address comes up. So SCEUK must be in charge of Norway to, or? Maybe the people in charge in Scandinavia is living in a bunker without a phone line, would explain A LOT.
BTW, SCEE need to read up on the Copernicus worldview. They believe the universe is centered in the UK.

Poor Lindsay, getting complaints already.
Thanks for the update.

Posted on 7 December, 2010 at 2:02 pm by Shadowdragoon
The main problem is, why release something many wants only for a few?
SCEE should do worldwide releases not one country at a time releases.. doing it that way would reduce the complaints (a little, as humans are not happy if they cant complain about anything)

Lindsay, can you direct anyone who are relevant to getting this service to any other that the masterraces to this blogpost? the service for anyone outside UK is just criminaly bad… Got nothing against you, just getting mad at the company who calls itself SCEE, but seems to be a subbranch of SCEUK =/

SCE did launch the MOVIES section to more areas this year but they were ENGLISH language areas only.
Canada, AU, NZ got there services. Ireland was left out, complain to ITunes Who Finaly launch their movies services with lots of exclusive to iTunes rental titles.

At Gamescom 2009, President and CEO of SCEE Andrew House said:
“And of course we´ll be rolling out the service to our other stores throughout 2010 [...]“.
Get mister Lier MacHouse on here an answer for what he promised us. He must be the worst boss to have ever. I know I wouldn’t like to have a liar as a my boss!

Oh just listening to it stings 7.15 min.. I am pleased to announce we are absolutely on track. Got to have some big brass ….. to be standing on stage and sell this.
Posted on 7 December, 2010 at 3:49 pm by Lindsay Iveson
Dear Martingutton, Mr Lopes,
Sorry to correct you but Andy House said announced specific countries for ‘VIDZONE’ NOT THE VIDEO STORE and said for the’We will begin rolling out the video delivery service by the end of 2009′. The video delivery service is the movie service. So NO promises have been broken at all. We did roll out to Italy and Australia and as I said early new countries will launch next year.

«Introducing PlayStation Network Video Delivery Service»
That doesn’t sound like VidZone to me. The quote I gave was after that, and he WAS talking about video store. Rolling it out to the other countries in 2010 is NOT release it in TWO countries. That is «rolling it out in a COUPLE of other countries» in 2010. I know it is hard to believe your boss could be lying, but there it is.
I am just as disappointed as you, believe me. I do not live in the holy land of brits, so the lies does actually concern me.

@Martingutten
Perhaps the hint in the title is “UK Video Store Update”. Simply whining about it won’t want Sony to bring it out any quicker.
If they could release it quicker in your territory I am sure they would – blame your country for its complicated movie rights system.

I would love it if SCEE would give me the contact to whoever is in charge of SCE in Norway/Scandinavia. Have asked about 2343 times, but I have a feeling they do not even know it. Where am I do direct my frustration? this is after all the blog for EUROPE, even tho you wouldn’t believe it! There is no blog post addressing this topic on the blog. Can not whoever in SCEE reading this blog tell everybody who has anything to do about videostore in the rest of Europe to read the comments here? SCEE can’t be operating from separate bunkers without any means of communication, can they?
BTW, they are trying to force our question away. Last update was called “playstation video store update”, or something along those lines. It did show the mentality of SCEE, that is for sure, but I quess they hoped our shattered dreams would be forgotten if they changed “playstation” with “UK”.

Dear Lindsay,
I know you would like to correct us but I listened to the conference over and over.. And Andy clearly states rolling out the video delivery service to the other stores!!
He is absolutely not only addressing vidzone. Some people may think we come here to whine but we just want something done about the situation. If our own country is to blame well if I had means to contact the one in charge I would take my whining else where.. Until then the Blog will have to do.

Another update and yet another silent stance on whether the Ireland Video Store will ever see the light of day!!!!
This is becoming a joke for Irish PS Users, we were promised a Store along with the UK Video Store yet we haven’t heard anymore word or explanation as to why an Ireland Video Store has not been released.

Dear Lindsay Iveson
I clearly remember that Mr. Jack Tretton himself said on E3 2008 or 2009, that the Videostore (moviedeliverance or whatever you wish to call it), was to be rolled out to many more EUROPEAN countries, amongst them Norway. More specificly i can remember him saying that by 2010 at least, the Videostore would be available in those countries they showed on the big screen at the beforementioned E3. Here we are at the end of 2010 and no Videostore is in sight. How do you expect us to believe you when you keep saying ‘early next year’ all the time, and fail to deliver time and again? And how is it that Microsoft has had theire Video rental service up and running for a couple of years now already in Norway? Is it so much different for Sony to arrange this? Or is it a lack of caring about the whole thing?

Lindsay,
first for finally ,the customers, get an official answer, i would say thank you….
second, i have to state you are incorrect regarding the videoservice ( videostore)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FcspvpgD3Uk&t=8m25s
p ress conference of 2009:
Quote: Videodelivery Service
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FcspvpgD3Uk&t=9m15s
we will be launching the service in the UK,France,Germany and Spain this november
that was November 2009!!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FcspvpgD3Uk&t=9m30s
quote”
and ofcourse we will be rolling to other stores troughout 2010″
Nowhere it was stated it was going to be 2011.
that is what the customers mean by keeping promisses.
but again i want to thank you for making the official statement that 2011 is going to be the year, that the majority of the EU is also going to get the videostore.
don’t mind if i going to refer to this message in december 2011
Posted on 7 December, 2010 at 10:44 pm by Lindsay Iveson
S-cript,
Just to clarify ‘Other stores’ does not mean ALL stores. We did expand to other stores in Italy and Australia and as I said before new stores will launch next year also. We will keep you posted as soon as we have an update to share.

Sorry again Lindsay I still not agree with your statement this time about other stores are not all stores they obviously are not.
But if there is stated during the year 2010 the video delivery service will be rolled out to the other stores. Or Andy should be more selective in his word choice, but that sounds to me like the rest of Europe/Scandinavia will be getting this bad boy during 2010.
Listen carefully to the conference 7.15..
the exact words are:
And off course we will be rolling out the service through out 2010.

@MrLopes
they are just trying 2 cover up what they said or else they would have 2 Admit that they made the mistake off thinking SCEE was capable off something.

@dgnfly
That is what I am trying to avoid..
that is why I keep coming back reminding them of the promise that was made. They may hate me for it but I don’t care.

Nice to have the final word in this topic once again.. But someone helped me out.. My advice is to everyone that does not agree with how things are right now.
Let’s start giving them some phone calls check in the back of your game manuals for phone numbers.
Write letters the address for the main office should not be that hard to find. Like stated on this blog if you want something done take matters in your own hand.
Let’s do it.
