It’s the penultimate ‘Heads-Up’date of the year! Is everyone feeling fiercely festive?
This week you can complete your Prince of Persia HD trilogy with Warrior Within and The Two Thrones and Sackboy’s Prehistoric Moves comes to the main Store (no, it really does this time – last week was a practice).
Prinny 2 and Bakugan on PSP, plus five new minis land today and also worth a mention is the Disney PSone Classics – they’ve all been dropped in price, to the tune of one Euro (or equivalent) each.
We also have tons of DLC this week for a wide range of titles, including another free update for Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood (multiplayer this time) and more DLC for PSN favourites like Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light, Joe Danger and Mushroom Wars.
You can now also get your hands on the Borderlands Extravasplosion Add-on Pack, which aside from being a candidate for the best named DLC in all of human history provides you with all four of the fantastic Borderlands expansions at a budget price. So if you’ve been denying yourself a trip to Zombie Island, now’s the time to consider packing your bags and strapping on a bite-proof helmet.
I’ll be around in the comments a bit later so if I don’t respond right away, rest assured that I’ll get to it before the end of the day.
Catch you later.

Anything on Tekken 1 and/or 3? And how about the Twisted Metals?
Posted on 15 December, 2010 at 3:56 pm by Ross McGrath
The original Tekken is going to be heading our way, I talked to Namco about it recently. No news on Tekken 3 at the moment.

Hey… Where’s the X-Men arcade game? I was expecting to play that tonight with friends in the US but I’m left out I guess.
Posted on 15 December, 2010 at 3:57 pm by Ross McGrath
As far as I know, X-men Arcade wasn’t submitted to us at the same time as it was to the US but it will be coming.

Posted on 15 December, 2010 at 2:06 pm by matthangzhou
Thank you so much whoever was involved in arranging all the Borderlands DLC into 1 pack! I’ve never understood why a game can get a GOTY addition with all the DLC but the content alone never drops in price…I’m looking at you Fallout 3!
Awesome!

No sorry, no info on those two at the moment.
21
Posted on 15 December, 2010 at 2:08 pm by kingkrunch456
As enticing as prinny 2 sounds, the fact neogeo heroes was on the store (and I didn’t know it was there) surpasses it i’m afraid
22

Oh yeah, and no hexyz force or persona 3 portable. WTH?
Posted on 15 December, 2010 at 4:00 pm by Ross McGrath

23
Posted on 15 December, 2010 at 2:09 pm by matthangzhou
Oh, I just looked at price. £16!?!!? You can get the GOTY with all the DLC for that. God I’m really getting fed up with the greed of these game companies and Sony.

Can you tell when will the DLC for Star Wars Force Unleashed 2 be available in Slovenia?
Posted on 15 December, 2010 at 4:02 pm by Ross McGrath
No sorry I’ve no idea. Lucas Arts submitted to the above territories only. I will see if I can find out if it’s planned for any further territories in the future.

Hmmm. fairly disappointed. Was hoping for some Marvel love this week to go with the DC Beta. Any news on when we will be seeing the stuff the US got this week?
28
Posted on 15 December, 2010 at 2:11 pm by sharpenedpixel
Are we ever likely to get the Final Fantasy 13 avatars or any more Capcom avatars? The USA now has Pocket Fighter ones. Thanks.
Also, is Um Jammer Lammy likely to come here?
What is with the pricing on all the Blazblue DLC? I know you don’t set the price but I wonder if they realise that all that costs more than the collector’s edition of the game and adds pretty much nothing.
Posted on 15 December, 2010 at 4:12 pm by Ross McGrath
I’m chasing all those Capcom avatars, I still don’t have a clear answer as to why they weren’t submitted here are the same time but I would say it’s a safe bet that we will get everything that the SCEA Store has in the way of Capcom avatars eventually.
I’m trying to get us Parappa and Um Jammer.

Posted on 15 December, 2010 at 2:11 pm by Chaosprower
Poor update.
And what happened to the “great list” of PSone classics?
Posted on 15 December, 2010 at 4:05 pm by Ross McGrath
Well the PSone emulations take time I’m afraid. There’s several in submission at the moment and some stumbling blocks have been worked through that were previously prevently the publish of a few key titles – so that’s good news.
I promised you visibility on the process and what’s been holding up a few titles previously so expect that article in the new year – should explain some of the hold ups and what’s being done to improve the process.

Think I might have to download X-Men from the US store so I don’t miss out on my friends nostalgic trip to the early 90′s where we used to play that and similar games in multiplayer before school ended and everyone went their seperate ways. And come to think of it there are quite a few PS1 games on there I’ve waited ages for. I finally caved in and bought Castlevania – Symphony of the Night from the US store and it works perfectly on a UK PS3 so can’t see why I should’t get some more.

does anyone know if the sackboy move.will be on the main LBP2 disc when it comes out in january???
Posted on 15 December, 2010 at 4:07 pm by Ross McGrath
Yes it will be – Alex Pavey has communicated this in his blog posts. The Moves game is aailale now early if anyone is desperate for some more LBP action but if you’re patient you can wait and get it as part fo the LBP2 release.

Is no one going to mention the price for Prototype? My God, oh hang on, it’s Activision, of course, I’m surprised it’s not the full retail price that it is now of, hang on, I can get it on Platinum for £19.99….
What the hell is going on here, this must be a joke?
Posted on 15 December, 2010 at 4:18 pm by Ross McGrath
I will tell you exactly what happened with this.
I saw the price that Prototype was submitted at a few weeks ago and I discussed it with the Activision account manager here.
I then contacted the Activision representative that I often deal with and flagged the price of Prototype as a concern from my perspective and suggested that they look at lowering the price if at all possible.
This was taken under advisement by Activision and then a few days later I was told that they would like to maintain the price as it is now for the forseeable future.
I will be sure to take it up with them again in the future but for the time being I’ve done all I’m able to do.

@ RossMcGrath:
Nice update, however the lack of new Classics makes it little relevant to my interests.
However, this is a bit harsh for me to say, and therefore I want to end this comment on a higher note: Ross, is there any chance of new Classics to come out before 2011? I’m talking about noteworthy, mainstream Classics (Spyro is the usual example)?
38
Posted on 15 December, 2010 at 2:15 pm by RaggyRock
Oh! I am very surprised to find Prinny 2! I loved the first game and enjoyed it very much.
But is it going to come out on UMD also perhaps?

Posted on 15 December, 2010 at 2:16 pm by Yoshi-Keiko
Also any news on whether there will be a mega update for Christmas ?
Is there / will there be a release calendar for PSN content which can be accessed to confirm what will be released and when ?
Posted on 15 December, 2010 at 4:14 pm by Ross McGrath
The calendar is unlikely but I will suggest it – the fact is we’re not in a position to announce release dates for anything but our own content and I don’t get to decide when that happens either!
The final update of the year is pretty epic, yeah.

Any idea when Dora’s Adventures:Dora’s HD Street Moves is coming out? It’s about Dora finally growing up and reaching this generation of console…and it’s in HD and has PS Move support…I’m kidding. Dora was actually nailed shut into the very final ps2 casing off the production line which was used as her coffin…Expect Zombie Dora expansion packs as dlc to spruce up sales of MoH…I’m kidding again of course. Good yuletide everyone ))

LOL Activision fail
I want Prinny 2 nao but I’m not sure if it will be the right time to buy it so I’ll be wary… incase Dragonball Z: Tenkaichi tag and Legacy Of Kain are released on the store.

There was me thinking there wasn’t enough eyepet avatars and way too many other avatars like devil may cry , deadrising , megaman etc like u.s . Ohh wait . Prototype price is a joke lmao you guys at Sony clearly have no strings to pull with certain devs as the game is only 19.99 on xbox live

Posted on 15 December, 2010 at 2:17 pm by Dante_Zero
lame again. once again the US get a great update and SCEE see’s fit to release for europe on apar with a third world country. i’m starting to think SCEE is never gonna improve. back to the DCUO beta then seen as no auditorium HD or X-men. guess you guys didnt want any money from me today. also two other quick things. why is the store blog posts getting later each week and more importantly after all the backlash regarding the price if AC who’s brilliant idea was it to charge £31.99 for prototype. thats a joke. could have a pint a sandwich got NFS:hot pursuit and still had enough to get the bus home with change. heres hoping SCEE stops being run by clowns in the new year.
