‘Heads-Up’ Game Store Update 15th December 2010

'Heads-Up' Game Store Update 15th December 2010

It’s the penultimate ‘Heads-Up’date of the year! Is everyone feeling fiercely festive?

This week you can complete your Prince of Persia HD trilogy with Warrior Within and The Two Thrones and Sackboy’s Prehistoric Moves comes to the main Store (no, it really does this time – last week was a practice).

Prinny 2 and Bakugan on PSP, plus five new minis land today and also worth a mention is the Disney PSone Classics – they’ve all been dropped in price, to the tune of one Euro (or equivalent) each.

We also have tons of DLC this week for a wide range of titles, including another free update for Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood (multiplayer this time) and more DLC for PSN favourites like Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light, Joe Danger and Mushroom Wars.

You can now also get your hands on the Borderlands Extravasplosion Add-on Pack, which aside from being a candidate for the best named DLC in all of human history provides you with all four of the fantastic Borderlands expansions at a budget price. So if you’ve been denying yourself a trip to Zombie Island, now’s the time to consider packing your bags and strapping on a bite-proof helmet.

I’ll be around in the comments a bit later so if I don’t respond right away, rest assured that I’ll get to it before the end of the day.

Catch you later.

Anything on Tekken 1 and/or 3? And how about the Twisted Metals?

    Ross McGrath 15 December, 2010 @ 3:56 pm

The original Tekken is going to be heading our way, I talked to Namco about it recently. No news on Tekken 3 at the moment.

Carnivius_Prime 15 December, 2010 @ 2:02 pm   2

Hey… Where’s the X-Men arcade game? I was expecting to play that tonight with friends in the US but I’m left out I guess.

    Ross McGrath 15 December, 2010 @ 3:57 pm

As far as I know, X-men Arcade wasn’t submitted to us at the same time as it was to the US but it will be coming.

LRJImpaler 15 December, 2010 @ 2:02 pm   3

Nice update guys!

Hope we have a monster sale next week ;)

Any news on Marvel Pinball? I was hoping it would appear today after the US got it yesterday.

Planet Minigolf Move demo? I gotta try it.

Gilgamesh29 15 December, 2010 @ 2:04 pm   7

Any news on import Ps1 games?

    Ross McGrath 15 December, 2010 @ 3:58 pm

Nothing new I’m afraid. As I said last week we’ve got 10 titles from Monkey Paw in submission.

Nice update! probably only Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game and the Prince of Persia Trilogy Dynamic Theme. (First comment)

Cocacoladance 15 December, 2010 @ 2:05 pm   9

eyepet winter theme?

The_Green_Spirit 15 December, 2010 @ 2:05 pm   10

That’s it no Tekken 3 PSone classic… DAMNIT Ross, WHEN Tekken 3 coming when are we getting X-Men arcade since the americans got it yesterday but at least there is more Blazblue DLC for me. So when does the store update today?

Still no Dragons Lair ….

RCrevenge 15 December, 2010 @ 2:05 pm   12

Beaten. :(

Hi Ross

Can we expect any BIG Sale this year?? You know, holiday stuff ??

Also, do you know maybe if X-Man Arcade game released in US is planned for Europe?

Thanks

Guillemots 15 December, 2010 @ 2:06 pm   14

DOOOOOD! Prinny 2! :D

matthangzhou 15 December, 2010 @ 2:06 pm   15

Thank you so much whoever was involved in arranging all the Borderlands DLC into 1 pack! I’ve never understood why a game can get a GOTY addition with all the DLC but the content alone never drops in price…I’m looking at you Fallout 3!

Awesome!

Suzzopher 15 December, 2010 @ 2:07 pm   16

No X-Men :(

Shadowdragoon 15 December, 2010 @ 2:07 pm   17

Is it me or did it feel kind of small this update. Or migth it be what preceded it that was much bigger?

btw any chance for Crossregion Gifting soon? ;)

ArsenalMark 15 December, 2010 @ 2:07 pm   18

Ridge Racer Type 4? Please? :(

Noisepurge 15 December, 2010 @ 2:08 pm   19

Nice!

Talon-000-333 15 December, 2010 @ 2:08 pm   20

Thanks for the update,’I Must Run’ looks interesting.Do you know when Deadliest Warrior and Spelunkers HD will be out?

kingkrunch456 15 December, 2010 @ 2:08 pm   21

As enticing as prinny 2 sounds, the fact neogeo heroes was on the store (and I didn’t know it was there) surpasses it i’m afraid

kingkrunch456 15 December, 2010 @ 2:09 pm   22

Oh yeah, and no hexyz force or persona 3 portable. WTH?

matthangzhou 15 December, 2010 @ 2:09 pm   23

Oh, I just looked at price. £16!?!!? You can get the GOTY with all the DLC for that. God I’m really getting fed up with the greed of these game companies and Sony.

JediEagleSLO 15 December, 2010 @ 2:09 pm   24

Can you tell when will the DLC for Star Wars Force Unleashed 2 be available in Slovenia?

    Ross McGrath 15 December, 2010 @ 4:02 pm

No sorry I’ve no idea. Lucas Arts submitted to the above territories only. I will see if I can find out if it’s planned for any further territories in the future.

nurse_sansam 15 December, 2010 @ 2:10 pm   25

not a bad update but think I will stick with the DCUO beta, loving the game.
Might try the AC:Brotherhood DLC as well, does anyone know what its like?

Well it’s good 2 see this update sucks again and will continue for many years,No X-men,No jap imports,No ps1 classics,No real psps games how do you guys do it, i sure hope SCEE get’s some cutbacks cause for the love off god you guys can’t get anything done
and why still not the games
Dragon lair
Deadliest warriors the game
persona 3 portable
final fantasy VII crisis core
any off the ps1 classics
Resident evil games
spelunker HD
Hoard
Auditorium HD
Dream Chronicles
Magic The Gathering: Duels Of The Planeswalkers

Tridentmorph 15 December, 2010 @ 2:10 pm   27

Hmmm. fairly disappointed. Was hoping for some Marvel love this week to go with the DC Beta. Any news on when we will be seeing the stuff the US got this week?

sharpenedpixel 15 December, 2010 @ 2:11 pm   28

Are we ever likely to get the Final Fantasy 13 avatars or any more Capcom avatars? The USA now has Pocket Fighter ones. Thanks.

Also, is Um Jammer Lammy likely to come here?

What is with the pricing on all the Blazblue DLC? I know you don’t set the price but I wonder if they realise that all that costs more than the collector’s edition of the game and adds pretty much nothing.

    Ross McGrath 15 December, 2010 @ 4:12 pm

I’m chasing all those Capcom avatars, I still don’t have a clear answer as to why they weren’t submitted here are the same time but I would say it’s a safe bet that we will get everything that the SCEA Store has in the way of Capcom avatars eventually.

I’m trying to get us Parappa and Um Jammer.

Chaosprower 15 December, 2010 @ 2:11 pm   29

Poor update.

And what happened to the “great list” of PSone classics?

    Ross McGrath 15 December, 2010 @ 4:05 pm

Well the PSone emulations take time I’m afraid. There’s several in submission at the moment and some stumbling blocks have been worked through that were previously prevently the publish of a few key titles – so that’s good news.

I promised you visibility on the process and what’s been holding up a few titles previously so expect that article in the new year – should explain some of the hold ups and what’s being done to improve the process.

Yoshi-Keiko 15 December, 2010 @ 2:12 pm   30

Any news on UM Jammer Lammy ?

sharpenedpixel 15 December, 2010 @ 2:12 pm   31

Oh yeah! @28 I really want Auditorium, Dragon’s Lair, Hoard and Spelunker HD too!

Any news on the Splatterhouse Killing Floor DLC?

tekkenism 15 December, 2010 @ 2:14 pm   33

Carnivius_Prime 15 December, 2010 @ 2:14 pm   34

Think I might have to download X-Men from the US store so I don’t miss out on my friends nostalgic trip to the early 90′s where we used to play that and similar games in multiplayer before school ended and everyone went their seperate ways. And come to think of it there are quite a few PS1 games on there I’ve waited ages for. I finally caved in and bought Castlevania – Symphony of the Night from the US store and it works perfectly on a UK PS3 so can’t see why I should’t get some more.

deltaman-3 15 December, 2010 @ 2:15 pm   35

does anyone know if the sackboy move.will be on the main LBP2 disc when it comes out in january???

    Ross McGrath 15 December, 2010 @ 4:07 pm

Yes it will be – Alex Pavey has communicated this in his blog posts. The Moves game is aailale now early if anyone is desperate for some more LBP action but if you’re patient you can wait and get it as part fo the LBP2 release.

Is no one going to mention the price for Prototype? My God, oh hang on, it’s Activision, of course, I’m surprised it’s not the full retail price that it is now of, hang on, I can get it on Platinum for £19.99….

What the hell is going on here, this must be a joke?

    Ross McGrath 15 December, 2010 @ 4:18 pm

I will tell you exactly what happened with this.

I saw the price that Prototype was submitted at a few weeks ago and I discussed it with the Activision account manager here.

I then contacted the Activision representative that I often deal with and flagged the price of Prototype as a concern from my perspective and suggested that they look at lowering the price if at all possible.

This was taken under advisement by Activision and then a few days later I was told that they would like to maintain the price as it is now for the forseeable future.

I will be sure to take it up with them again in the future but for the time being I’ve done all I’m able to do.

AlexPSN89 15 December, 2010 @ 2:15 pm   37

@ RossMcGrath:

Nice update, however the lack of new Classics makes it little relevant to my interests.

However, this is a bit harsh for me to say, and therefore I want to end this comment on a higher note: Ross, is there any chance of new Classics to come out before 2011? I’m talking about noteworthy, mainstream Classics (Spyro is the usual example)?

RaggyRock 15 December, 2010 @ 2:15 pm   38

Oh! I am very surprised to find Prinny 2! I loved the first game and enjoyed it very much.

But is it going to come out on UMD also perhaps?

Yoshi-Keiko 15 December, 2010 @ 2:16 pm   39

Also any news on whether there will be a mega update for Christmas ?

Is there / will there be a release calendar for PSN content which can be accessed to confirm what will be released and when ?

    Ross McGrath 15 December, 2010 @ 4:14 pm

The calendar is unlikely but I will suggest it – the fact is we’re not in a position to announce release dates for anything but our own content and I don’t get to decide when that happens either!

The final update of the year is pretty epic, yeah. :)

ElMagnifico83 15 December, 2010 @ 2:16 pm   40

Anybody wanting the X-Men arcade game is in for a long wait, i’ve heard we aren’t getting until february in europe.

DNT_FCK_MY_RAVE 15 December, 2010 @ 2:16 pm   41

Where is X-men the arcade en Marvel Pinball?

I was expecting to see this since they are available in the US store.

Any idea when Dora’s Adventures:Dora’s HD Street Moves is coming out? It’s about Dora finally growing up and reaching this generation of console…and it’s in HD and has PS Move support…I’m kidding. Dora was actually nailed shut into the very final ps2 casing off the production line which was used as her coffin…Expect Zombie Dora expansion packs as dlc to spruce up sales of MoH…I’m kidding again of course. Good yuletide everyone ))

sympozium_666 15 December, 2010 @ 2:16 pm   43

LOL Activision fail

I want Prinny 2 nao but I’m not sure if it will be the right time to buy it so I’ll be wary… incase Dragonball Z: Tenkaichi tag and Legacy Of Kain are released on the store.

greyness123 15 December, 2010 @ 2:17 pm   44

There was me thinking there wasn’t enough eyepet avatars and way too many other avatars like devil may cry , deadrising , megaman etc like u.s . Ohh wait . Prototype price is a joke lmao you guys at Sony clearly have no strings to pull with certain devs as the game is only 19.99 on xbox live

Dante_Zero 15 December, 2010 @ 2:17 pm   45

lame again. once again the US get a great update and SCEE see’s fit to release for europe on apar with a third world country. i’m starting to think SCEE is never gonna improve. back to the DCUO beta then seen as no auditorium HD or X-men. guess you guys didnt want any money from me today. also two other quick things. why is the store blog posts getting later each week and more importantly after all the backlash regarding the price if AC who’s brilliant idea was it to charge £31.99 for prototype. thats a joke. could have a pint a sandwich got NFS:hot pursuit and still had enough to get the bus home with change. heres hoping SCEE stops being run by clowns in the new year.

Another week of nothing yay!

Think I’ll wait for next weeks update of Mass effect 2 and Dead Space 2 demos thank you very much. Already have a US account so not too bothered if like per usual things worth getting only appear on the US store.

£31.99 for ProtoType thats just disgracefull.

Chocobo115 15 December, 2010 @ 2:18 pm   48

Nothing for me this time, but thank you for trying. Patiently waiting for next week.
Any chance you could ask for a sale or price reduction of the Vandal Hearts game?

when Auditorium in European PSN? And Tetris? :)

    Ross McGrath 15 December, 2010 @ 4:24 pm

Auditorium is going to be a while but it is in submission for release in the SCEE Stores.

Tetris will be a LOT sooner.

@sharpenedpixel

well i doubt we will get any off it this year so don’t getyour hopes up and the Blazblue DLC is useless as hell the unlimited characters can be unlocked by just playing the game only thing worth about the Blazblue DLC are the 2 extra characters
