On February 10th ISA Ultimate Recruit training opens – a hands on, interactive bootcamp to help you prepare for the launch of Killzone 3 and really get to know your enemy.
Recruits will take instructions from a ferocious ISA Marine, Instructor McCain.
First up is theory – over the course of training you will hone your intelligence gathering skills in order to locate and track Helghast activity.
Initially you need to locate the enemy by collecting the hidden Helghast symbols. Then you need to complete four training simulations using the internet, your phone and, most importantly, your wits.
The top 500 recruits to make the grade will win a place on the Live Fire Range, where they will have the chance to fire a real Helghast weapon over the internet.
The cream of the crop will be in with the chance to go to E3 in Los Angeles.
Enrol now at ultimaterecruit.killzone.com now and enter your details to be notified when recruitment opens.
ISA Ultimate Recruit – will you make the grade?
Please note: recruits must be 18 or over. The Live Fire and E3 Prize is only open to UK residents.

When it comes to “offer goods” it’s all about the uk… let me refresh you guys mind with something:
EUROPE isn’t only uk, in fact uk it’s just tiny bit of land planted on the sea in all the EUROPE territory.
Get that straight please!!!

I’ve never played Killzone 1, Killzone Liberation 1 & 2, only played Killzone 2, so that leaves me out of this competition
although i would like to see a pictre of this real helghast weapon please

You don’t need any prior knowledge of Killzone to take part in Ultimate Recruit Training – you’ll be taught everything you need to know!
Stay tuned for more details on the Helghast weapon…

Ok I missed that..
Please note: recruits must be 18 or over. The Live Fire and E3 Prize is only open to UK residents.
I am sorry if I offend anyone but this really has to F stop!! Please divide Europe up in more regions or open up contests and services for us all. Sometimes it seems Sony is treating GB as an über country!
Really guys GB is not the only country in the EU thanks again for letting the majority of the EU down.

@1: We’re getting used to it…
Didn’t they say that they would have competitions open for EVERYONE??? I think so…
Home has been down for nearly THREE WEEKS in Scandinavia. Sony doensn’t care, but a lot of ppl have paid for content on Home, so they can’t just say “oh, but it’s free…”
Scandinavians probably pay the most for Sony HW/SW, and this is the thanks we get???
I asked a local store if I could preorder NGP after Sony had released info about it, but it was too soon. Now I doubt I will buy it at all. They don’t care about Scandinavians, so why should I get it? And we won’t get the Comics store either…
Shame on Sony!

Not to forget this is a dutch based developer.. Give us all the chance to compete and win..!! This really is getting lame!

Guys, it clearly states at the top “Countries: GB”
Just like the issues with the PSone releases, there’s loads of different laws and regulations with regards to things like this. Every country has to be treated different. SCEE UK are putting their money into this scheme, You’re going to have to live with it.

Posted on 8 February, 2011 at 2:38 pm by MrLopes
Yeah you got that right SCEUK cause the UK is what it’s all about in EUROPE..
10
Posted on 8 February, 2011 at 2:40 pm by tm2010swe
@8: Yes, we will have to live with it. But when they refer to non-existing laws it gets ridiculous . They did that when UK residents could win that nice car… Either they (the legal department) are lying, or they don’t know what they are talking about.
Also, if they upset us enough, we won’t allow ourselves to get upset when the next generation of consoles is out. We don’t like paying the most, and still always get left out.
Sony: When will you fix Home for Scandinavia? It’s been almost THREE WEEKS now…
(Oh, wrong thread for Home? Pass it on the right persons then!!!)

I’m sure they’d open it up for the whole of Europe if they could. They must have their reasons, although for the life of me I don’t know what they could be.
As it’d involve a trip to the US, maybe it’s something to do with plane tickets or visa control or something.

@LAClennell
Why would not playing the previous games leave you out of this competition?
It doesn’t say you need existing knowledge of the series, just that there will be a few ARG-type games.
Go on, enrol!
13
Posted on 8 February, 2011 at 2:58 pm by tm2010swe
@11: Sure they have reasons! Maybe even valid ones! But it would be VERY nice, then, if they could have competitions available only in e.g. Scandinavia. But that will NEVER happen.
Sony, here’s a slogan you can use in Scandinavia (for FREE):
Pay more, get less! (And it’s 100% true too!)

That my point you hit the nail on the head you said SCEE-UK over the internet i also see SCEE-AU sony of australia Sony-uk so SCEE Stuggles to get Ps1 classics No bloody wonder.
We have a region SCEE within a region SCEE-UK SCEE-AU aren’t we suppose to be 1 region SCEE every time i boot up a ps1 game it says SCEE.
i always say this but it time to put down SCEE disband it i don’t expect a response SCEI Makes the rules & 2 of it‘s favourite region SCEA & SCEJ.

I mean SCEUK

Posted on 8 February, 2011 at 3:04 pm by MrLopes

I wonder if it works like that. If it does I think it is stupid to post it on the blog cause everyone knows what happens then.
18
Posted on 8 February, 2011 at 3:12 pm by Skookie30
@almighty that the problem We never use the words SCEUK always SCEE but you right SCEUK does exist so why dont we use that as SCEE is useless, disband it let each region get they ps1 etc onto the store or god shakes a untied sony.
at the top it doesn’t say SCEUK or SCEE

If the prizes are only for uk residents, post it on the UK playstation website. Posting it on the EU boards is just cheap and offensive.
I mean I could understand issues with the live fire range, but the trip to E3 being UK only? REALLY? It’s in freaking America, for gods sakes. either way, people will have to freaking fly over there. SCEE are evidently not aquainted with decent PR.

Posted on 8 February, 2011 at 4:10 pm by tm2010swe
@30: Well, at least I wish they could skip translating each and every game. I always play my games in English, and that’s not a problem for Scandinavians, at least not those aged 50 and below, imo. It’s enough if they translate games for kids.
Translating games delays them, and make them more expensive. That way they could skip distributors like Nordisk Film and cut prices even more. That’s important in this time and age.
But maybe we have to pay so much because Nordisk Film had strippers(?) on the PS3 release party? (I kid you not!! NSFW: http://www.idg.se/2.1085/1.100734?showGallery=true&img=7#selected) I wonder what Sony think about release parties like that…
33
Posted on 8 February, 2011 at 4:16 pm by MrLopes
@32
I play all my games in English and started doing this from a young age. I understand they can’t just stop translating games but @ least give us equal services.
Equal rights to participate in contests. Sometimes it feels like the pal/eu region is in the Sony middle age.. And SCEJ/SCEA are living in the modern world.
34
Posted on 8 February, 2011 at 4:46 pm by tm2010swe
@33: Not even the EU translates to every language, and they handle very serious issues compared to games…
I wish Sony would let us buy the English version early if we want to, and those who want translated games can wait, and pay extra for the translations. That would be nice, and fair.
And the competitions… didn’t they promise competitions for all countries? I remember reading something about that here…
35

Btw, the link I submitted in post #32 is to the Swedish branch of International Data Group, a big publishing company. The site is “okayed” by McAfee SiteAdvisor, so there should be no viruses etc. But it’s still NSFW, I guess…

Lol they never fail to disappoint. All America needs to do is play the KZ3 beta for a weekend to be in with a chance to win 500 Helgaust editions of the game. Australia have there own promotion running and now UK has got this lMAO.
Lol as usual the rest of Europe means nothing to Sony ROFL. Aye don’t get upset over it folks, none of yous posting would have been lucky enough to win it anyway.
Trolling over, aye for people thats complaining don’t talk to soon, its still early days, Sony may run promotions for the game in your areas too.

UK is the backbone of European Union
The PSN Servers of Europe is hosted in UK and the HQ
I know it’s unfair to the rest of the fellow European members and I personally think that it’s dumb that NL doesn’t get goodies and they are the country who designed Killzone.
Let’s not also forget that the creators of Little Big Planet is in the UK but the collectors edition in America is beyond awesome!

Posted on 8 February, 2011 at 6:46 pm by tm2010swe
@37: Sony ranks the countries like this:
1. USA
2. -
3. -
4. -
5. Japan
6. -
7. -
8. UK
9. -
10. -
12. -
13. Most of Europe and the rest of the World
14. -
15. Scandinavia and some other small villages
Of course, the longer down you are on the list, the more you have to pay.

Lets get things straight, there’s no such thing as SCEE-UK (who is Gods name invented this?). There’s SCEA, SCEJ, SCEAsia and SCEE.
SCEE stands for Sony Computer Entertainment Europe and last I checked EUROPE didn’t stand for United Kingdom so either SCEE starts to do stuff like this on all EUROPEAN countries or simply don’t do it at all.
And don’t get me started with other stuff.
PS: long live to Scandinavia land of heavy metal \m/-_-’\m/ and though tm2010swe you’re swedish i’m rocking Children Of Bodom now (Finish)

>> Lets get things straight, there’s no such thing as SCEE-UK (who is
>> Gods name invented this?). There’s SCEA, SCEJ, SCEAsia and SCEE.
SCE-uk does exist (even has a different VP from SCEE), it is responsible for the promotion and protection of the SCE products and entertainment in the UK. there also exists SCE-benelux, for example.
if SCE-uk have funded the competition, then it should be for residents of the UK. there would be nothing to stop the benelux arm doing it for the dutch, or the iberian arm running a comp for portuguese residents.
the organisation (scee) that overseas europe as a region has to be based somewhere, so it has its *headquarters* in the london. partly because of the ease of business in london, the common language, and in general the UK is by far the single biggest market in the EU for videogames.

>> i always say this but it time to put down SCEE disband it i don’t

if you think putting SCEA in charge of all regions would make things vastly better, you are delusional. ask the canadians or mexicans. SCEA has only one interest, the USA.
47
Posted on 9 February, 2011 at 12:18 am by VitalogyPJ
@#46 Ohhh poor you, and what’s the only interest of SCEE? Uh? What? Say again! Oh right, the uk…. because in scee maps, europe comes only in form of the uk.
I’m waiting my latin here with arrogant people. I’m not against the people in the uk or the fact you have this contest, I’m against scee, just open your eyes. And if for one second you guys think this is fair then you’re ignorants like those on scee.

I don’t understand that where the game is developed, didn’t have that ?.
But !!,now i am confused why so many countries are under SCEE,
when they all are treated like they are seperate.
I don’t see why UK gets the best things in europe, while germany ( don’t wanna blow the dutch horn here )is a big gaming nation to.
oh well, there is no point me actually typing this,it will be ignored anyway..
