‘Heads-Up’ Game Store Update 16th February 2011

'Heads-Up' Game Store Update 16th February 2011

Hello all – I’m not around this week, I’m off learning all about the products coming to the PSN Store over the next calendar year, so I’m afraid you’ll be without my replies today. If I can hop on tomorrow for a bit, I’ll do so.

So what’s on the menu this week? New offers hit, with both Alien Breed titles reduced in preparation for the launch of the third outing, Sky Fighter, a selection of Split/Second unlocks and a few choice PSone titles – plus let’s not forget the second round of minis from our February Mega minis Sale.

Dragon’s Lair bursts onto the scene, heading up our new PSN releases this week, and in polar contrast, Acceleration of Suguri brings the fast paced robot destruction.

TNT Racers arrives for both PS3 and PSP, but the PS3 version is a FirstPlay exclusive this week. The rest of you can grab it from the 23rd.

New PSP games arrive (Final Fantasy!), we’ve got more of those Flag themes you guys love so much and there are new minis, including the iOS hit, Zenonia.

Of course we’ve also got the single player KillZone 3 demo for you, which comes in both regular and 3D flavour for you early adopters. Not long to wait for the full game! If you’re a fan of the genre, it’ll blow your hat off. Replace hat with whatever word you feel most comfortable with.

And worthy of note, but not listed here in the content update (although it’ll be back in Latest) is the FIFA Ultimate Team 11 title update, which adds some new functionality and some tweaks to the Ultimate team add-on. It’s still free, so if you’re an Ultimate team fan you can grab this today.

Lot’s more besides – take a look at the full list below – I’ll be back with you again as normal from next week, when we’ll have Alien Breed: Descent, The Undergarden and more for you. Cheerio.

Lots of content. Whippeee!

Nothing interesting, but PS3 rocks anyway :D

Modern Combat: Domination (£6.29/€7.99) Rating: PEGI 16

Again? Thought that was released already?

almighty-slayer 16 February, 2011 @ 1:03 pm   4

Nothing particularly interesting for me this week but can’t complain after last week’s great week.

Any idea what Back to The Future is? Was hoping it would be this week.

beardyweirdy 16 February, 2011 @ 1:03 pm   5

where’s Back to the Future

Nothing for me this week (since I got the Killzone 3 demo last week).

Guillemots 16 February, 2011 @ 1:04 pm   7

Epic update! Thanks a lot!

what about back to the future?

and: do we get some 3d-trailer for uncharted 3 soon?

Huh, no Yakuza 4 demo for EU? <.<

    James Gallagher 16 February, 2011 @ 1:34 pm

Check the Plus post from earlier – it’s available to all Plus members today.

Suzzopher 16 February, 2011 @ 1:05 pm   10

No Back to the Future? Well, [DELETED] :(

GahLakTus 16 February, 2011 @ 1:05 pm   11

sweet!

any news on the ghosbusters: avatars u hinted at last week? why does the undertaker add on have a price AND say free?

darkhorus15 16 February, 2011 @ 1:06 pm   12

Great update, but again… where is Spyro?

Agamer2006 16 February, 2011 @ 1:07 pm   13

All looking good today, looking forward to getting those GTA avatars soon.

I know I come from a small country, but do you think lama will create a northern ireland flag dynamic theme. Not that its a big problem, but it would be nice to have :)

Killzone 3 single player demo, yeah!

Any news on motorstorm demo?

Damn, had my hopes up that Back to the Future would be part of this weeks bunch. Well, next week maybe. Still have to pick up Stacking (was abroad last week), so I’ll buy that one instead…

SlapnutzUK 16 February, 2011 @ 1:11 pm   17

No Raw Vs Smackdown DLC Pack 3? I got the update to “give” it me a week before the us release?

What’s the exuse for BTTF?

tm2010swe 16 February, 2011 @ 1:11 pm   18

Someone asked last week and the week before that too, but got no reply, so I’ll ask now:

The Minis sale you have advertised here, why wasn’t the Monopoly game available in Scandinavia? You said nothing about region restrictions… Ok, the sale is over now, I guess, but you owe us an explanation.

Ok, ok, ok calm down, no need to panic…………

O M F G !

Where is Back To The Future?

I hope this is a mistake.

identity25 16 February, 2011 @ 1:12 pm   20

Mini’s for me, this has been a great sale got about 5 last week, more this week, very sensible pricing, you get a lot more money from me, willing to try a few I wouldnt go for at higher prices.

Also i’ve been waiting for a sale on Aero racer and Age of zombies for ages (thinking it would be down to £2.50) so this is even better, worth the wait!

ArsenalMark 16 February, 2011 @ 1:13 pm   21

Dragon’s Lair?

Holy moly! Cannot wait for the Store to update!

That calmed me from going on a rant, but instead just a question :p Where is Under Siege?!

Back to the Future wasn’t announced as coming out this week in the EU :( Hope it’s soon though (along with Strong Bad!)

funkpower 16 February, 2011 @ 1:14 pm   23

Nothing for me, but not fussed, PS+ is on the rise!

The Undertaker (£0.59/€0.79) (free) – mmmm…..any idea what u mean on this? confuesing?

Kotatsu2000 16 February, 2011 @ 1:14 pm   25

No Back to the Future? It’s out on the US store.

Come on guys, you need to stop delaying stuff in the UK. We speak the same language, just release it here at the same time as the US! If it’s delayed so you can translate it into several hundred European languages I trust at least that the absurdity of delaying the UK release because of this isn’t lost on you.

BIOKILLER123 16 February, 2011 @ 1:14 pm   26

Nothing mostly of interest apart from maybe FF1. Lots of content though.

Primal_Link 16 February, 2011 @ 1:15 pm   27

yeah! brillant update!

I have been trying to find a umd copy of Final Fantasy for months nows its right where I want it! Better wait till Dissidia Duodecim is realeased so i can get the former half price! Having the file sizes really helps too!

I have to ask Ross but there seems to be a pattern… are u gonna realase prologus next week as a sandwich between Final Fantasy 1 and 2, the latter is on psn in a fortnight or something? Even if u can confirm its at least 2 weeks before the full games release that would be great! It wuold put these questions to rest.

ElTequillaz 16 February, 2011 @ 1:15 pm   28

Hey Ross i hope you see this, because what I believe to be customer service for Denmark(support@dk.playstation.com) haven’t yet replied to me even though i wrote to them on Friday 4th february

The price for the GTA IV episodes bundle have never been correct in the Danish Store, so would you be so kind to pass it on to those who can do something about it. The problem is that it’s price is 199 DKK, which isn’t equivalent to 20 €. It should correctly have been 149 DKK I presume.

crusher915 16 February, 2011 @ 1:15 pm   29

Red faction Guerrilla always stops at 25% when I download it is not something that is wrong on my end but yours can you please get someone to check this (I got it during the january sale, I have enough space on my harddrive and bandwith and this is the only game that does not work, this is the 3 week I have posted this and nothing has been done about it (the first week you said that I should post again if it would not work, so I did that but you were not able to reach my comment))

Skookie30 16 February, 2011 @ 1:17 pm   30

Oh dear a recycle of content 3 ps1 classics make a re-release of them are Not 3 new ps1 classics.

only 2 things for me in this so-so update SCEA once again beats us everytime.

if you on tomorrow can you confirm/deny a report that ps2 games coming on the store and why just PSP & Not Ps3?

still waiting for the ETA of resident evil series still waiting for imports
and now the ever put off Ps1 classics list, to get a sign off from the higher ups.

the higher ups are is as slow as our SCEE region is. :|

No sign of Hoard. I was hoping to breathe some hot air around psn this week, and burn a princess or three to cinders…Hope SCEE has it lined up for us soon.

First time I’ve ever noticed Rock Band miss a week..

CaptnSpaulding 16 February, 2011 @ 1:18 pm   33

Arrrrghhhh no ‘Dynamic Wales Theme’?????? We have the best flag in the world!!!

Could I PLEASE request it!!?

MoneyMarko 16 February, 2011 @ 1:19 pm   34

I thought february was the good month? -_-

imajinetion 16 February, 2011 @ 1:19 pm   35

No Back to the Future is a huge disappointment.

Shou_Kobayashi 16 February, 2011 @ 1:20 pm   36

Hey there Ross,

finally Dragon’s lair hit the stores… so one down and a lot of games to go… still being busy playing Plants vs. Zombies

Besides, anything new from EA in the case of Dead Space: Extraction for Germany… I’m on the fence on buying me a Move… but well this will be the dealbreaker or dealsealer…

Also still requesting Soul Edge / Blade … something from Namco here?

Still mentioning the US Import Store :) for PsOne.. had there been any reactions from some company if they would publish their us only things here in the eu? esp. square enix (squaresoft und enix) is on my list :D

About last week Assassin’s Creed 2. Is it really the complete version with all the DLC?
Where is Back To the Future? :-(

Skookie30 16 February, 2011 @ 1:21 pm   38

*5/10

No BTTF? :( I still don’t understand why UK releases should be delayed because of “internationalisation”. It’s the same language!

I thought final fantasy 1&2 were coming as psn games with trophies i could play on my ps3 … what a massive letdown :(

StevenHibs 16 February, 2011 @ 1:25 pm   41

Ross,

The Call of Duty: Black Ops First Strike DLC, which comes out on 2nd of March should have at least 25% off for PlayStation + Subscribers, don’t you think ?

Could you pass this on to the PS+ team.

Much Appreciated

Cheers

Skookie30 16 February, 2011 @ 1:29 pm   42

SEE never said FF1/2 was to come out at same time the next 1 out next week or week after never said about trophies. :|

Back to the Future?!? :(

17# Yeah i wanted that game too :(

PSN-OmniusALX 16 February, 2011 @ 1:32 pm   45

Hi Ross,

Regarding the updates coming to the store over the next 12 months, with the release of the Xperia Play and NGP, both using new games from the new PS Suite, will these games be available on the store ie one central store, so for instance we could purchase a PS Suite game through Media Go then transfer it to either the NGP and/or the Xperia Play using just one Playstation account like we do for PS3 and PSP games?

I’m considering updating my phone to the Xperia Play, but only if I can use my Playstation account not something else just for the phone or phone operator.

Regards.

KILLZONE 3 OH YEAH!

9# if you have psn + then you can get it this week in europe.

WHERE IS UNDER SIEGE :(

xchris2008x 16 February, 2011 @ 1:33 pm   48

just release bttf in the UK and delay for the rest off europe!!! (sick of delays due to other languages)

Might as well get it from the US store with strongbad.

Dont we have enough Eyepet avatars also? :D

BTW Ross are you in anyway related to Cole MacGrath from Infamous? :P
