‘Heads-Up’ Game Store Update 16th March 2011

'Heads-Up' Game Store Update 16th March 2011

Hi all, it’s a ‘Head’s Up’date for you and it’s a relatively quiet week this week.

We’re launching a new round of Special Offers – this time with a special PlayStation Move focus to help you get the most out of your magic wands. We’ve got some great third party titles like Flight Control HD, DeadStorm Pirates, Planet Minigolf and Swords and Soldiers at as much as 50% off, and some of our great Move-enabled first party PSN games too. Take a look and see if anything grabs your attention.

In the field of new titles we’ve got Slambolt Scrappers from our friends at SOE – a game that combines Tetris, Tower Defence and maybe… Joust? Try it, you might well like it!

Demo-tastic today as well, with the Crysis 2 Multiplayer demo, Heroes demo and Tiger Woods, so plenty of options to choose from.

DLC today too – you can expand your roster in Marvel vs Capcom 3, expand your décor in The Sims 3 or expand your fish collection in My Aquarium. So go… expand!

You may have noticed that the PSone title we’ve got this week, while undeniably awesome, has slightly less in the way of the living-challenged, sinister mansions and poor voice acting than perhaps I had led you to believe last week. I’m sorry guys but it was out of my hands, but you’ll be pleased to know the delay is a short one.

Enjoy your content this week guys – I’ll catch you later!

Got a serious question, when 3rd birthday comes out in the UK, are we gonna have parasite eve 1 and 2 in the store, to be honest theres no point releasing a 3rd in series without the other 2

    Ross McGrath 16 March, 2011 @ 1:05 pm

At the moment, as there was no release of Parasite Eve one in PAL territories, there are no plans to bring it to our Store.
However if you’ve got any questions for Square-Enix, I encourage you to head over to their community and ask –

Death-In-Pants 16 March, 2011 @ 1:04 pm   8

Don’t worry Ross, you will be one day.

Nistelroy78 16 March, 2011 @ 1:04 pm   9

Where is the supposed Prince of Persia 3 pack for Same Price as 2 ?

    Ross McGrath 16 March, 2011 @ 1:07 pm

Only available to Plus members – it’s going live today though.

No MK demo for non-PS+ users? :(

    Ross McGrath 16 March, 2011 @ 1:08 pm

Sorry I’ll get the list updated – the MK9 demo will be available to everyone from today’s publish.

Diablo_Rosso 16 March, 2011 @ 1:04 pm   11

Hi Ross, any idea if we will see the GT5 stealth cars on the Store?

Primal_Link 16 March, 2011 @ 1:05 pm   12

WHAT! Where the heck is dissidia duodecim prologus! You siad it would be realesed at the same time as the US!

    Ross McGrath 16 March, 2011 @ 1:09 pm

Well I was apparently quite incorrect.
If you have a question for Square-Enix about content availability or price, I advise you to ask them directly over on their community.

Death_Seaker3000 16 March, 2011 @ 1:05 pm   13

yeh nothing for me today either. any chance of final fantasy 13 avatars?

almighty-slayer 16 March, 2011 @ 1:05 pm   14

Haahahaha fail Ross.

Nothing for me this week :)

Bacon_Crispies 16 March, 2011 @ 1:05 pm   15

Shame about the change in the PS1 Classic, not that it matters as I refuse to buy any more PS1 Classics until Sony sort out the price, they used to be £3.99 now they are all being released at £7.99 with no justification for the increase.

    Ross McGrath 16 March, 2011 @ 1:12 pm

All the ones we release from first-party are still at the £3.99/€4.99 mark

VicRattlehead 16 March, 2011 @ 1:05 pm   16

man alpha 2 and MVC3 chars really are expensive… wouldn’t mind if the money was going to japan or something

beardyweirdy 16 March, 2011 @ 1:06 pm   17

at least Resident Evil is next week

SpiderMike_X 16 March, 2011 @ 1:06 pm   18

Nice update. Rated it high cos of that but nothing for me this week. Had we kept RE up there then maybe, but we’ll always have next week, I guess.

(And now cue the moaning regarding Resident Evil…)

    Ross McGrath 16 March, 2011 @ 1:14 pm

I’m sorry guys, I was genuinely as disappointed as any of you, but it’s definitely a brief delay only.

AllytheBruce 16 March, 2011 @ 1:06 pm   19

Dang the offers aren’t just quite tempting enough (as I already have flight control HD) but I’ll grab the playstation move heroes demo, very interested to see what that game is like

Ahmedz_LOLZaMan 16 March, 2011 @ 1:06 pm   20

No Servbot avatars again :(

So again EU gets shafted with releases. Where’s Hard corps,RR Type4 and RE1, there’s seriously no point in using EU PSN for downloadable titles any more.

halljames 16 March, 2011 @ 1:07 pm   22

All quiet on the PSP front, although I may pic up MiniSquadron. I might get Pix’n rush. I have it on the ipad and like the look of it, but I think its a game that will benefit from physical buttons.

What I really want is an NGP :)

OniEyes 16 March, 2011 @ 1:08 pm   23

Off topic but whats up with the ‘visit US blog’ link? its been redirecting me to a ‘quick maintainance’ page for a few days now

Chocobo115 16 March, 2011 @ 1:08 pm   24

Evil Demands Xenogears, Chrono cross & Parasite Eve… and a glass of milk and a freshly baked cinnemon bun, if that ain’t too much trouble?
Please?

    Ross McGrath 16 March, 2011 @ 1:17 pm

At the moment, there’s no way to provide you with PSone titles that were never released in PAL territories.
I will say that this is a topic that is being looked at internally, but to be absolutly clear, you should in no way take that as confirmation. I just want you all to know that we’re not simply ignoring the fact you guys are requesting these titles. :)

abcputt 16 March, 2011 @ 1:08 pm   25

is the store update now or do i have to wait ???

SickMick_UK 16 March, 2011 @ 1:09 pm   26

Ross where the Mortal Kombat demo we was mean’t to get today

    Ross McGrath 16 March, 2011 @ 1:18 pm

I’ll get the list updated – the MK demo will be okay for all to download from today.

ObnoxiousZebra 16 March, 2011 @ 1:09 pm   27

No Dissidia Duodecim Prologus? :/

HiddenAway 16 March, 2011 @ 1:09 pm   28

I could sort of see the lack of Prologus this week when S-E didn’t confirm a date in their European blog entry.

Still, Pix’n Love Rush will make up for it this week!

INS1GHTFUL 16 March, 2011 @ 1:09 pm   29

Hi. Can u tell us when dissidia prologus is coming out. I’m going on holiday this weekend and I really really wanted to play it on the flight :-(

flamingcarrot 16 March, 2011 @ 1:09 pm   30

Why discount a game at 40% for PS+ members, then discount the same game for everyone at 50% a few weeks later? Honestly, who thinks these things up?

(I’m referring to Flight Control HD btw)

No Hard Corps: Uprising for us this week? :(
Any ETA on this? tia

X_Weapon 16 March, 2011 @ 1:10 pm   32

Ross, Moon Diver is expected in Europe for March like in USA (29 March there, as stated by the PS Blog USA)?

Chaosprower 16 March, 2011 @ 1:10 pm   33

No Dissidia 012 Prologus? Wasn’t it supposed to be a sneak peek at the full game? What’s the point in releasing it next week? Although there’s no point in releasing it for PSPgo if the full game isn’t confirmed for PSPgo yet.

TheDragonsB1ad3 16 March, 2011 @ 1:10 pm   34

why no dissidia duodecim prologus i was looking forward to it now I’m only gonna get two days to play before the full version :( it’s all i was looking forward to

monkeyspaz3 16 March, 2011 @ 1:11 pm   35

GREAT UPDATE! cant wait to play the demos however could you get some information on when new Little Big Planet 2 costumes are being release, ive been restricting myself from playing it until their is more costumes :P

Thanks :D

    Ross McGrath 16 March, 2011 @ 1:26 pm

I can’t tell you that (not the whole plan of course), but there are some more next week for you. :)

snap02-12 16 March, 2011 @ 1:11 pm   36

Sony’s policies regarding the PlayStation Store are ridiculous. Why does a game have to be approved for the European market after is has already been approved for the American market? Why is there not one single place where Publishers/Developers can submit their games to?

Microsoft seems to do that. Every game gets released on the same day across all the western regions. Xbox Live is ways ahead of the PlayStation Network in this regard.

On my Xbox I can also download every single Demo for any game. On PSN Sony tells me that it’s not possible to release 16+ rated content for free in Germany. Microsoft does that and you can download everything without paying for Xbox Live Gold.

While I appreciate that you guys sometimes answer to questions here you usually just write a lot of words without really saying anything. Is someone working on resolving the situation regarding 16+ content in Germany? Why is some paid content 18+ rated not available in Germany (Dead Space Extraction)? This whole situation is getting worse and worse every week. I love Sony, but it’s you’re making this very hard for me…

    Ross McGrath 16 March, 2011 @ 1:30 pm

I’m not in a position to discuss our policies regarding legal decisions for European content, but if you want to write to customer services and ask your questions then someone above my head can decide whether or not to share the information. The decision not to publish Dead Space Extraction in Germany was EA’s.

ArsenalMark 16 March, 2011 @ 1:11 pm   37

This is a joke.

Nothing for me at all.

What happened to the Resi Evil classic hinted at last week? Americans got RE3… Talking about the Americans they also got Ridge Racer Type 4 last week too.

    Ross McGrath 16 March, 2011 @ 1:31 pm

Capcom wanted to check the title was up to their standards before releasing so it was pushed back – it will be releasing very shortly.
Ridge Racer Type 4 will be with us just as soon as the PAL emulation is completed.

Death_Seaker3000 16 March, 2011 @ 1:12 pm   38

Mortal Kombat demo was for ps plus yesterday or was it last week?

Myst3rialP 16 March, 2011 @ 1:12 pm   39

“I’ve got a hint about what’s coming next week too. It’s really powerful. Especially against living things.”

You meant SF2? :) It’s also from Capcom..

    Ross McGrath 16 March, 2011 @ 1:36 pm

Haha, okay I admit that came back to bite me.

This is why you’ve got no hint this week – I had a really good one but now I’m terrified the content will get pulled – so no hints this week.

    Well, maybe one later.

Hi Ross,

Any news about Jurassic Park coming to PSN?

nedubis 16 March, 2011 @ 1:13 pm   41

Good week on the demo front – looking forward to trying those out.

Might finally take the plunge and get tumble too

    Ross McGrath 16 March, 2011 @ 1:43 pm

Tumble is really, very good – it’s a lot of fun competitively as well.

Tizoc789 16 March, 2011 @ 1:13 pm   42

Where my Hard Corps at? It’s THE game I’ve been looking forward to for a while now =/

hollandnigel 16 March, 2011 @ 1:14 pm   43

I like!!
Mortal Kombat, Move Heroes, Mag DLC cheaper,

Thanks! Time to buy a PSN Voucher!

Sambuque 16 March, 2011 @ 1:14 pm   44

Weren’t you suggesting Resident Evil for this week in your last store update post? No Hard corps? No Duodecim Prologus?
Any news about PC Engine games? some Devil’s Cruch would be nice.
Do you think we could see psp+ps3 pack for Neo Geo games?

    Ross McGrath 16 March, 2011 @ 1:48 pm

I was suggesting it, sadly there were events beyond our control that have briefly postponed it – very brief though. You won’t have to wait long for Hard Corps.

nothing new on PC Engine other than that they’re still going ahead. There are no plans for bundles of PS3 and PSP NEOGEO content at the moment but it’s not something we’d rule out.

TheKillerSnowman 16 March, 2011 @ 1:14 pm   45

nothing good :(

MaxRstar 16 March, 2011 @ 1:14 pm   46

Marvel vs Capcom 3 additional characters for me this week. Ross do you have any release date regarding pandemonium psone classic?

ninja_tom 16 March, 2011 @ 1:15 pm   47

UMM, mortal kombat???

claTorino 16 March, 2011 @ 1:15 pm   48

what??? no Hard Corps: Uprising for europe???? no mortal kombat demo?

i think that every update on the store is just a waste of time now if you look on the american ps store you see content for every one but the UK store has not (Ross McGrath) i think you need the evaluate the UK store as there are a lack of avatars and dynamic themes people want to see mortal kombat and online storage was the only stuff that was good in months i do hope this gets better.

sonwilliam 16 March, 2011 @ 1:16 pm   50

waht about dissidia duodecim prologus i mean isnt the game dissidia duodecim 012 out next week? and wasnt we mwnt to get it the same time as the US
