To celebrate the return of the PlayStation Network and welcome you back to Killzone 3‘s online battlefield, we’ve got a Double XP Weekend lined up! Starting this Friday, May 20 at 17:00 PM UK time, and lasting until Monday, May 23 at 10:00 AM UK time, all XP you earn in Killzone 3‘s multiplayer matches will be doubled.
The upcoming Double XP Weekend isn’t the only Killzone-related goodie in the pipeline. As you may know, Sony has revealed that Killzone: Liberation is part of its Welcome Back Program for PSN members, meaning you’ll be able to download the critically acclaimed PlayStation Portable shooter absolutely free of charge. And there’s even more… But we’ll announce that at a later date.
So stay tuned to Killzone.com, and remember to brush up your Killzone 3 multiplayer skills. This weekend, you’ll have a chance to catch up on 3 weeks’ worth of rank progression!
P.S.: During the Double XP Weekend, the Score Screen will display the message “Fast Starter Bonus” instead of “Bonus Points” – this is a string error that will be fixed in future Bonus XP events.

Yeah, it’s been made even longer by the fact we know what we are getting as reimbursement for the security threat/downtime situation… Read a lot of comments by people owning all the free d/loadable games etc, but i don’t own four of them, so it’s all gravy with Sony et al as far as I’m concerned.

Dunno if you can post links, but this one explains that a memo sent to game developers, presumably involved with Sony PSN/Store. That May 24th will be when the store is back online.. Roll on Tuesday, or sooner is poss.

@CHRIS what and how will this affect me (others) who have the collecters double xp etc code for 1st 48hrs as iv’e had one since store went down and (obviously) couldn’t re-deem it, i know i’d probably still get my 3 unlock points but when i re-deem code can i still access all weapons to as by then i would be over the first 24 hours limit and not 2 sound 2 greedy would i also lose the 1st 24 hours x2 XP (which i did after all pay extra 4, … in ur opinion what should i do …… if it makes any difference i’m slighty below ur avarage fps (online) type of player so obviosly need as much help as poss, please try to reply as i don’t want to ‘miss the party’…… thanks.

If you haven’t redeemed your code, then wait until the Store is back online and then all the benefits will work fine. If you have any issues drop your customer service team a line and they should be able to help.

I love how the post is about Killzone 3 having 2x exp and all the COD fantatics who literally live up the part of COD were the sun don’t shine come in and start blabbering about that instead ; ;

killzone is by far the most brutal fps on the market. That’s why i play and love the multiplayer.
But since we got back on I have been noticing alot of glitchies on grotto and frozen dam….. Hope u guys get that garbage under control. FAST. It was really cheezin’ my dome earlier today. I mean guys were like flash stepping.
Other than that keep up the good work.

Hi Aryeh.
I was wondering if there is some way that sony could take customer suggestion about improving psn/playstation services.
For example, upgrading sub-account to master-account or getting access to “adult games” when the account’s holder turns 18. Then there would be no need to create new account to access to the pegi 18 when you’re grown up.
Just mentioning this cos’ I’ve seen that people have asked this a lot. (and I’will also turn 18 next month
)

OK. Thank You. Nice that you have given us a double XP weekend. However, no notice? Would have been nice, or else, to be really fair, everyone should have been sent a code that gave you 48 hours double XP. That way you didn’t need to give people notice AND people could have used it at their leisure!? Some people are never happy are they!

Loving the double XP as I only got the game yesterday lol.
Where is this ‘Playstation Event Schedule’? I wanna know more about special game events.
To anyone thinking of getting Killzone Liberation as part of their welcome back package – it won’t have the online mode, and honestly it’s a pretty dull game anyway (in my opinion).

Yay, I just finished the EPIC campaing mode on KZ3 and now a joyous on-line event =). PS: for all of those wanting COD related weekends. They’re a 3RD party developer. SONY can’t tell them to put one on or to put their maps on PS store for free wich is is why an actual SONY company is doing this and also why only SONY exclusives are being sold FREE on PS store.
