As the blog manager, this week it felt good to get back to some kind of normality after the PSN outage that has dominated our thoughts for the past weeks. We had some great news to share, like the inFamous release date, a gorgeous Resistance 3 packshot and my favourite post of the week, an insight into Naughty Dog’s production techniques. Still the same I’m afraid. I don’t know but will let you know when I do. However, in the case of Mortal Kombat the developer has kindly waived the online pass so you should be able to play online now without visiting the store.

Yep was hard to login by E-mail as it was PSN down in maintenance again but PSN is back out of maintenance now so you shouldn’t have any difficulties trying to sign back in to PSN

yeah please give an eta on the playstation store i brought dc universe online on the 20th of april and have been waiting for a month to play it so please give us at least an expert guess i love playstation but feel we at least deserve to be informed!!!

Hi, I was wondering that during the time PSN was down, certain games were suppose to come to the PS Store like ‘Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath’. Would this be available for purchase once PS Store is restored.

Stranger’s Wrath was delayed on all platforms until the summer.
But God damn please give us some info on when the store will be back. I want Outland already. I’ve put off buying it on the 360 for this long because off HDD space, but I’m losing my mind here.

Hey James, thanks for the update.
Look, I know you’re busy and probably stressed after the past few weeks, but you work in communications and you need to re-read your content before pushing it live. I don’t mean to split hairs, but people have enough reasons to hate on Sony at the moment and sometimes a little more care would make a world of difference.
“I’ll be sure to personally know when I hear any new information”, that’s great, but could you let us know too?! An honest error as was your reference to Infamous release date rather than Infamous 2, but it still grates.
Ben’s post about VidZone nailed it, with his infectious enthusiasm spreading throughout the comments. He also had a great reply rate which is really valued by us, the customers, even if he wasn’t always able to give the answer people wanted.
In a way, you’re the voice of Sony right now – what a great opportunity for you!

I think we do pretty good job of replying to comments. On average we get in the ballpark of 2000 comments per week so it’s not possible to answer them all, particularly when there’s a lot going on behind the scenes.

Only games and DLC that are free under PS+ expire. Anything else that’s free, or anything that’s discounted, you keep. How do people still not know how PS+ works?

So the rumor is the PSN Store will be up and running on the 24th May. Hmmmm. That’s a Tuesday isn’t it? That’s the day the US Store traditionally updates, is it not? Sony’s obsession with America is hysterical.
Once upon a time, Europe was Sony’s jewel in the crown. An area within the industry even Microsoft and Nintendo were envious of. But over these past 3 years, SCEE have done their up most to destroy any credibility with this region. Most recently with the pathetic “Welcome Back Suckers” initiative.
I never thought I’d feel such animosity and hostility towards Sony. How times have changed.

NO you do NOT keep the content you download during the 30 days of PS+
you get 30days ACCESS
purchaes made with Plus discount is yours to keep
themes and avatars are yours to keep
SOME DLC is yours to keep (addons)
the rest falls under the usual plus restrictions and is only available whilst you are subscribed.
thats still decent as you can easily bun through a game well within the 30 day period (effectivly gving you more “free” games) as well as free themes, avatars and wallpapers (depending on availability)
yes the free games were a disgrace and yes the us got a better deal considering they got free movies too ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !!
but the plus content is a good addition to the welcome back package so take advantage while you can.
sony also said that they will have more to add to the welcome package… i’ll believe it when i see it…

Im in a boarding school and can access my ps3 only when I come for my holidays.Im going back to school on May 1st.If PS Store is not back by then will I get to download the two games when I come back home or do I lose my chance?

Hi james ill like 2 say that all of the people working behind the scenes of sony have dun a great job & im proud to be a customer of sony since the beginning & for all the people asking about the store it will be up by may 31st its not long now and yes there is alot of rumours going around saying the store be bk up on tuesday 24th of may & like all of you i hope it true aswell coz ive got loads of redeem codes 2 do
but james did say and he kepts saying as soon as he has info about the store he will put it up on the blog and it shouldn’t be long but for now in enjoying playing l.a noire, brink, socom4, mortal kombat & MvC3 and also james ive pre-ordered infamous 2 hero edition aswell cant wait gunna be amazing loved the first infamous
