PlayStation Network will undergo routine maintenance today, between 16:00 BST and 00:00 BST. If you wish to play online during the maintenance, please ensure you sign in to PSN before 16:00.
The latest information I have on PlayStation Store is that we are aiming to have it live by the end of May. Contrary to popular rumours, it will not be reopening tomorrow but we will let you know here as soon as the date is confirmed.
We’re sorry for any inconvenience caused by this essential maintenance.

God Sony, this is becoming embarressing.
You should have denied those rumours straight away if they were false and informed your loyal customers first as to what was happening.
Secondly, you should give more then 6 hours notice regarding downtime, for people in Europe those hours are the peak hours and you’ve given us barely any notice to sign in. 24 hours + notice should be given if it is “routine”.
Thirdly, stop throwing out dates you do not mean. I’m loosing my patience reading that your services will be back by this date, and this date, only to have that date come and go without a word until it’s a week later.
Sort it out.
You’re supposed to be a good company.

@cspr111 Xbox is fine as long as you buy Xbox Live. I buy both ps+ and xbox live.

This is such a joke!
After being down for nearly a month to do all the maintenance you needed, you are going offline for yet more maintenance. I can’t ever remember a time when I had an Xbox 360 when the servers were down! let alone for maintenance. You always seem to do maintenance and spend too much time with the servers offline.
The cherry on the top is the fact that the maintenance is NOT even for getting the PS store back up and running. I am very loyal to Sony and have been with you nearly my whole life, but right now even my limits are being pushed here!

all over the net for near two weeks that psn store would reopen today and sony post up now on the blog it won’t, beyond a joke at this stage! what’s the problem? a massive technological company that is said to be ahead of the rest and yet you still can’t fix the problem, no wonder you were hacked. beyond embarrassing now!

I remember that Sony rubbished the claims that it would take up to the end of May to have all services on the PSN back up, yet here we are, one week left in the month and the PS store is still not up, and the network taken down for maintenance which I’m sure could have been better done while the network was down anyway.

Absolutely pathetic. Stupidly I bought DiRT 3 for the PS3 yesterdayl. Imagine how foolish I felt upon realising I couldn’t play online because I can’t redeem the VIP pass needed to do so. Luckily my local retailer outlet took pity on me and allowed me to swap it for a 360 version this morning….along with 9 other people he told me who also returned their PS3 copies (he only sold 11).
Anyway, I was lucky. I’ll never make that mistake again….ever.

Even with this statement people are STILL complaining!
7 days left in May so wait and complain if it is not up by June 1st.
If people cant wait 7 days more, considering how long this has already been going on for, they really need to seek help.

Are there any theories when exactly the store would be opened?
Has sony even attempted to get ready for the amount of traffic anyone else would have, you know, after.. oh. 5-6 weeks of the store being down? Prolly not. They are all going to crash the moment the store opens.
And when will we get the actual welcome back offer list? The last one must’ve been just some late and out of date aprils fools joke. I mean, the list of games offered was pretty bad. Pointless for anyone who has PSP Go, which i do.. when you get two of those games already.
Store credit, anyone? 20 gbp or something prolly would’ve given better results than a choice of bland games supposedly for same price.. hell, could’ve even gotten some comics. I mean, how well are those selling really? Noticed that the movie rent/sale on psp has been dead for like a year already.

at first i was really [Deleted] and felt let down but after all this time it was down i started tinking that its good that they take there time and dont rush because what good is the store if you get hacked right after a purchase so im most happy how you deal with this sony and as always safety firts and i think your abseloutely right cant wait for the store to get back but still more time securing equals better safety and thats overall best

Meh, works for me. I’m not that much into online gaming, and one extra day of maintenance doesn’t sound so devastating after nearly a month of downtime.
But I’m really happy to hear that Playstation Store is coming back up in late May – just in time for Beyond Good & Evil HD release, I hope?

throughout this whole event ive not complained once and i still think you did a good job in getting the psn up and running in the time you did..im just a little disappointed now.was hoping the store would be up sooner as im unable to play assasins creed brotherhood due to the fact i had to swap my ps3 because of ylod.and my gamesave is tied to the dlc for brotherhood so i cant even play it offline.im also missing dlc for alot of other games..oh well just try to speed things up if possible..and keep up the good work
