So, hot on the heels of our packshot unveil last week (included below for those of you that may have missed it) – we wanted to give you a peek at the Resistance 3 pre-order bonuses available across PAL – as well as a first look at our Special Edition and Survivor Edition game bundles!
However, before we go into the details, I wanted to give you a release date!
I’m very pleased to confirm that Resistance 3 will be launching across PAL on the following dates:
- UK & Ireland: 9th September
- Rest of PAL: 7th September
(now you know when you need to book off work!) 
So with that, we move onto the pre-order bonus items. Please note for all of the below content, availability will vary depending on your locale and retailer.

Get an early advantage on the multiplayer battlefield by starting the fight at level 5 – and gain access to a range of character and weapon customisation options.

RESISTANCE 3 SPECIAL EDITION
Next up we have the Resistance 3 Special Edition. This version of the game comes in a stunning steelbook case – packed with a voucher code for all of the pre-order items listed above.
Not only will this look awesome on your shelf, (the array of logos are on a perspex o-ring which you can remove) but this version will also come complete with a very cool ‘vinyl effect’ blu-ray disc (complete with the ribbed vinyl effect on the surface).

Will this game be playable in third person? I get claustrophobia getting stuck in camera-view like first person, I can’t feel my feet and it takes twice as long to react to what is going on behind you than it would do in real life. I know it’s a so-called “core gamer” thing to play in the first person, but really they are remnant of the Doom game style days when it was too expensive in many ways to make a third person character. Things have moved on since 1985.The option to play these kind of games in the third would go a long way toward me actually wanting to buy them. Plus those extras look awesome. Also what gives with psn? I just lost connexion to Home and cannot resign back in to psn?

@defcom@ just a second friend look at what america does to europe. theres alot of things we would love that you guys have and we are excluded. i quote these video’s are for america only. i quote msn chat rooms are for america only i quote these games can only be bought in america. i can go on but theres no point. if your that upset over a game are you sure your not depressed or some thing?? its just a game. and further more if most of this bothers you then move to europe. IE: England/france/germany/norway/sweden take your pick.

Looks great, except for the fact that the UK and Ireland gets shafted by UK retailers because they “prefer” fridays. That means we have to wait 2 more days, what a joke.
I’m hoping Amazon gets the special edition, because I want that steelbook.

Please, make the Resistance 3 to play co-op offline in 2 player with 2 move controllers. For example, this aspect in not included in Killzone 3. Killzone 3 can be played in 2 players offline only with 2 classic controllers, not with 2 move controllers.

In Special and Survivor editions, it is said to be a “voucher code for ALL of the pre-order items” but necklace isn’t mentioned on the packages images.
So is the necklace available in special and/or survivor edition as well or is it pre-order exclusive ?

I think the special edition is the way it is because the standard edition got a lot of hate and you don’t want to anger you hard core resistance fans but it still seems like a compromise.

Wow, i just checked out the US Blog and they are really hating on the fact that we get Special and Survivor editions and they don’t

Is there any word on when the Survivor Edition will be available to pre-order in the UK, and where I can pre-order it from?
It comes out just before my birthday this year, so I’m hoping to ask for some of the cash, or the item itself.
