We are working hard here at Insomniac HQ, putting the finishing touches on Resistance 3 in time for our early September release date. We were happy with all of our fantastic comments on the first video in our Dev Diary series in co-operation with the PlayStation Blog, which focused on environments and storyline. Many of you immediately asked “when is the next one coming?” I’m happy to answer that the latest video is now available! It focuses on Resistance 3′s vicious new Chimeran enemies and the significant artificial intelligence improvements we’re making, including enhanced group tactics.

We hope to continue to bring these to you every couple of weeks as we head up to Resistance 3‘s September 7th launch. If you haven’t already, head to your favorite game retailer and pre-order your copy of Resistance 3 to get access to unique bonus items. If this post makes no sense… It’s because my brain isn’t working at all well due to the fact I have just got back from Glastonbury, a festival which makes you remember what music is all about… Fun, dancing and good times, as do all good festivals. Over the coming weeks we have features from some of the best around the world so you can get a taste of what you can expect from the likes of Sonisphere, Wireless Festival, Putte i Parken and Super Bok Rok (see separate headings below for full details), and then hopefully still get your hands on some tickets!

Hello Everyone

Avid PlayStation Blog readers may recall that when Gran Turismo 5 launched in November last year, alongside the standard and collector’s edition versions of the game, we also launched the GT5 Signature Edition.

Nestling amongst a host of premium content contained within the glossy sculpted metal box was the entry card to a unique competition to win a real life supercar – the gull-winged Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG.

The 6.2 litre dream machine that one triumphant Gran Turismo 5 gamer will eventually own is one of the world’s most sought after vehicles and delivers 571hp, acceleration of 0-100km/h in 3.8 seconds and a top speed of 317km/h.

Having honed their skills and mastered Gran Turismo 5′s in-game B-Spec mode, our 15 finalists will now take part in the real-life Mercedes-Benz GT5 Driving Challenge between 11th & 12th July at the famous Red Bull Ring in Austria in their bid for the top prize.

Standing between them and some seriously hot wheels are a number of testing challenges put together by an expert AMG driving team including former F1 star David Coulthard, and Bernd Schneider, the legendary German DTM driver.

Eventually, following a final a head-to-head drag race, one winner shall emerge with the keys to one of the world’s most exotic supercars.

To put things in context, getting yourself into one of the exclusive AMG driving schools is probably a dream enough experience for most of us, so it’s pretty incredible to think that very soon a PlayStation gamer will emerge from the Driving Challenge event as the proud owner of the flagship AMG sportscar – all from having qualified through Gran Turismo 5.

Hey all, it’s another PSN ‘Head’s Up’date and another week of content for you – what’s on the agenda for today?

Well, the PSN Loves DLC Sale is still in full swing, so if you’ve yet to check out what’s on offer, please do so!

Loads of fun stuff today – if you missed Dungeon Hunter, which published just before our outage, it’s now available in Trial and Unlock flavour, so be sure to give it a whirl. We’ve also got EA’s new twin-stick shooter (from the creators of Greed Corp) Gatling Gears for you to get your shoot’em up fix.
