PlayStation Store (via PS3, PSP and Media Go)

Hello one and all, and welcome to another PSN Store ‘Heads Up’date.

If you have not already noticed, we have some lovely E3 content for you live on the Store right now, with more to come – make sure to check out the videos from the industry’s biggest event of the year, with loads of PS Vita footage for you to enjoy.

Sadly, once again I cannot be with you today as I am currently in sunny Los Angeles attending said event, but this evening (ie; the middle of the night, tonight) I faithfully promise to get on and do a few comments for you, since I failed so miserably on Monday. Jet lag is not nice, by the way.

You may notice a distinct lack of Special Offers this week, for the first time in quite a while – don’t fret, there are good things around the corner.

A quick honorable mention for Beyond Good & Evil, which joins us this week, both on the Store and at 20% off in Plus – it’ll be available for two weeks, for both Welcome Back Plus users, as well as Standard Plus users – grab it for the reduced price while you can! And make sure you activate automatic downloads – Beyond Good & Evil’s trial is currently winging its way to all who make use of this extremely useful Plus feature. If you’re on your Plus Welcome Back right now, why not enable the Auto-download feature, and get your frequently played titles patched up to the latest versions, as well as receiving specially selected content?

And do not forget for all you Call of Duty: Black Ops fans the Escalation pack is out this Friday, so to avoid disappoint top up your PSN wallets before the mad rush!

Bye for now, everyone!

vicheous 8 June, 2011 @ 3:34 pm   3

Meh! Not so good update, but nice to see Infamous 2 going digital ;-)

JordanBlack68 8 June, 2011 @ 3:34 pm   4

Infamous 2, £50?!?, too much.

ChrisandJulie 8 June, 2011 @ 3:35 pm   5

Good to see SSX3 for PSP but with there still being no Lego Star Wars Clone wars and no Lego Pirates of the Carribean for the PSP Sony have once again let their conumers down big time.

How long will this continue?

halljames 8 June, 2011 @ 3:35 pm   6

Some nice PSP content. White knight I may try, SSX is a definite (loved that game on my original PSP), and ninjamamamam mini looks interesting.

Excellent. I’ve been waiting for BG&E HD. Nothing else of interest though.

Hawkboi 8 June, 2011 @ 3:35 pm   8

LBP…..Contains the following….SONGS?

Andrefpvs 8 June, 2011 @ 3:35 pm   9

Ross, is there any way we can download our PSP Welcome Back games via the PS3 Store?

I can’t currently access the net on my PSP due to no Wi-Fi and I fear that I might miss on those games because of it (Media Go also doesn’t work for some reason). That doesn’t sound very fair to me, especially if you consider that North Americans can download their PSP games via PS3. Talk about region segregation.

Thank you.

TheSidious 8 June, 2011 @ 3:35 pm   10

When the MK classic skins going to come out on PSN ? X-Box has it already!

Kegs11 8 June, 2011 @ 3:36 pm   11

Ross, have you caught up with the publishes now?
How many more are planned until we get back to Wednesday’s only?

Rawra09 8 June, 2011 @ 3:36 pm   13

Is InFamous2 really £50?

Stocko 8 June, 2011 @ 3:37 pm   14

Sorry for Double post, but you online need the online unlock if you buy used copies of WKC2 and WKC: O right?

CodeMonkey_UK 8 June, 2011 @ 3:37 pm   15

Infamous 2… How much?!?

Quick google tells me i can get it for as low as £35 so why on earth would i want to pay £50 for a digital copy i can’t sell on?!?

Really never understood that, digital copies should ALWAYS be cheaper. Isn’t it in the interest of developers / publishers if we don’t sell our copies on?

Jimmirock 8 June, 2011 @ 3:37 pm   16

£50 for Infamous 2?! I think something went wrong there.

Roxas598 8 June, 2011 @ 3:37 pm   17

QuietlyWrong 8 June, 2011 @ 3:39 pm   23

Wooooooooo Beyond Good & Evil woooooooooo! One of my favourite games! I already own it twice, but that won’t stop be buying it again! :)

Incidentally Ross, what happened to the Patapon 3 single player demo that was promised last Friday? I don’t see it on the PS3 or the PSP stores…

Swoofah 8 June, 2011 @ 3:39 pm   24

@3

What is not so cool is that the price rivals what it would cost physically in a store in Norway -.-

JolipinatorJG 8 June, 2011 @ 3:39 pm   25

Angry comment!

MartyGUK 8 June, 2011 @ 3:39 pm   26

inFAMOUS 2 @ Amazon: £36.99 with bonus physical case, disc and manual.

what happened to the recent Dissidia 012 massive DLC update? they’ve been removed, and i have to search for them manually now.

also, still no news for the PSP games from the Welcome Back program on the italian Store?

Suzzopher 8 June, 2011 @ 3:40 pm   30

Holy moly, inFAMOUS 2 is more than the hero edition

Bealinator 8 June, 2011 @ 3:40 pm   31

I just wish to ask one thing – why are we getting charged nearly £10 for Beyond Good and Evil HD whereas Xbox 360 owners were charged around £7? It seems a bit wrong.

vicheous 8 June, 2011 @ 3:40 pm   32

I can get Infamous 2 Special edition for way less than what it costs on PSN this is silly :(

Seribal_Assassin 8 June, 2011 @ 3:41 pm   33

still no back to the futre part 3???

KyRo_08 8 June, 2011 @ 3:41 pm   34

£50 for Infamous 2? That is the reason why digital distribution will not take off as company’s will take advantage when I could pop into town or look online and pick it up for £35.

TIMCSS 8 June, 2011 @ 3:41 pm   35

how much for infamous 2??? Thats a hell of alot! I thought sony wanted digital to take off! wont with prices like that.

Seribal_Assassin 8 June, 2011 @ 3:42 pm   36

still no back to the future part 3???

Martingutten 8 June, 2011 @ 3:42 pm   37

Ehm, wasn’t BG&E $10 on xbox? =/ This is kinda a hit in the face for us then! even with the 20% off I feel cheated. I was SO ready to buy it ASAP, but now I feel a bit put off, and I need to think it over. Not that 30-40NOK is that much, but I got prinsiples! (Oh, if it was $15, or 20ish, as 15 euro is, please tell me)

Any idea when modnation racers will hit the store?

Keiician 8 June, 2011 @ 3:42 pm   39

Wait, what. No Mortal Kombat costume pack?

Bealinator 8 June, 2011 @ 3:43 pm   40

I am actually put off by the BGE price – seems a bit poor to charge us PSNers more for something that is around half the price on XBL.

laritauk 8 June, 2011 @ 3:43 pm   41

Wheres the Singstore Update??? Please just a date or something

Shift_Breaker 8 June, 2011 @ 3:43 pm   42

Still no Foo Fighters/Run-D.M.C. Rock Band DLC? That’s the only week I want, and you’ve still missed it out.

xuvitas 8 June, 2011 @ 3:44 pm   43

Any info on a release date for wizardry labyrinth of lost souls in eu ?

funkpower 8 June, 2011 @ 3:44 pm   44

You don’t get jet lag going to LA, you get it on your return.

Oh, and Infamous 2 has a pricing error :-(

Shikome 8 June, 2011 @ 3:45 pm   45

“Nice” to see the PSN tradition of stupidly overcharging for digital versions of retail games is not dead… *sigh*

Martingutten 8 June, 2011 @ 3:46 pm   46

@44 SCEE is a big error in itself!

Was hoping for half price Assassin’s Creed brotherhood DLC like the US got, why haven’t we got it today?

STIM666 8 June, 2011 @ 3:48 pm   48

SSX on Tour for PSP …. didn’t see that nice surprise coming – cheers!

Domino2097 8 June, 2011 @ 3:48 pm   49

Beyond Good and Evil and Dissidia DLC for me.

Carnivius_Prime 8 June, 2011 @ 3:48 pm   50

The infamous 2 price is too high for a game that can be found on disc much cheaper. I do very much want the game but not that price.

Anyways Street Fighter upgrade and Beyond Good & Evil for me :D Awesome update.
