Our little big game is now on sale on the PlayStation Store. Under Siege is an action and strategy game in real time, where a small group of heroes fight against a huge invading army. We developed Under Siege to be played with the DualShock 3 controller and it also supports PlayStation Move.
We also boost lots of cool features such as video recording, custom music, video chat all in true full 1080p in Dolby Digital 5.1
The prices are €14.99€ (€8.99 for Plus members) and £11.99 (£7.14 in Plus)
It is available in six languages, English, French, German, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese.
It includes a full Campaign, 2 player multiplayer online and local and the same Editor used by us to create the game itself.
The Editor is one of the most important features we put in Under Siege. We started production on it before making the game so we that made sure our level designers created everything directly on a PS3 with a DualShock 3. This way it was possible to keep on upgrading and improving the features and usability while the game was being made.
Currently the Editor has many tools that allow to do a varied number of things such as:
- Sculp and paint the terrain
- Add water to create rivers and lakes
- Change light intensity, colour, position and other effects
- Place and rotate props like trees, houses and walls
- Place units and determine their AI, line of sight, colour and team
- Create cut-scenes with your own lines of text and many different characters
But above all, you can create your own logic with a simple trigger system that allows for the creation of new types of levels, modes and even totally different gameplay.
We also included a Manual that is accessible at all times. To make it easier for everyone to use we are making it available as a PDF. You can download it or print it. Version with graphics. Clean version.
The team is also putting together some video tutorials that will help out in creating content. Talk to us in our forums.

I like the look of the game, but even on casual I find it a little too harsh. Having unit status carry over from map to map ends up being very harsh.

You’re the ones to blame if I fail my exams!
Seriously though, I’ve been playing a bit on my spare time and it’s been amazing so far, except the fact that the first boss completely decimated my team and now I have to start chapter 2 with two archers alone
CONGRATULATIONS and keem them coming

Great game
but one question. Where do you download other peoples maps?
Posted on 14 June, 2011 at 12:54 pm by Filipe Pina
When you create a lobby you can share your map with the other player.
We are working on an update that includes a map browser to share all your creations in a easier way.

I’ve read some review and there seems to be some path-finding issues with the ally units. Is this gonna be fixed ?
Posted on 14 June, 2011 at 1:30 pm by Filipe Pina
Yes it was fixed. This was on the preview code and was fixed for release. All reviews before May report this problem. It is not there anymore

I like that they can’t spell “Dualshock” in the first video.

This game controls beautifully with the PS Move! So well done on implementing it well. I’m not very far in the game but I’ve really enjoyed what little I have played.
You should mention that the game has a platinum trophy, that might get you a few more sales.

Congratulations to the team who made this game come true. It feels particularly great to see a portuguese developed game get this far, and I wish only the very best to those who’ve poured their hearts and souls to this project.
You shall always have my support
Congratulations, once again!

I also want to state, that I would love to see a DEMO. I bought a lot of 9.99 € – 14.99 € titles, because of good marketing and other things and wished there had been a trial / demo to see if it is worth time and money…
Posted on 14 June, 2011 at 3:32 pm by Filipe Pina
Sorry no demo.

This is on the store now, yes? In the UK? If so, for the discounted price I’m having it.

Bought it, love it. I don’t think there’s any PS3 game that makes better use of the system’s features than this one and the price is great too!

Thanks! The team appreciates the nice comments.

Alright, just bought it even though even though there’s no demo which, by the way, I really don’t understand since RTS on consoles are so rare. Letting people play a tutorial mission or something might get you more sales. Now, to find out if I just wasted another 9€.
Posted on 14 June, 2011 at 7:17 pm by Filipe Pina
We are a very small team, we couldn’t afford to work on a demo at the same time we did the game.

Can you make Casey Ryback a DLC character?
Posted on 14 June, 2011 at 7:59 pm by Filipe Pina
Hehehe. No, we would probably get in trouble for that.

Looks like JPL could do with that level editor of yours, so they can start realistically obfuscating the civilisation evidence out of the publically owned Mars Orbital imagery that they only do a half decent job at smudging out.
When I was a kid, I used to like buying those constructable miniature cardboard houses that could be bought in books. I really enjoyed making my own towns with ring-roads and with my ideas of proper town planning etc. Looks like the same sort of concept is available in-game with this level editor. Looks kind of fun. A trip down memory lane so to speak…
