Last week we posted preview videos of the first two maps from “From The Ashes”, the third DLC pack for Killzone 3. Today we’re offering preview videos of the other two maps included with the pack: Tharsis Depot and Radec Academy. If these names sound familiar, it’s because they’re re-imagined and revamped versions of the beloved Killzone 2 maps.
The first preview video features Tharsis Depot, a Guerrilla Warfare map for 16 Players based on the Killzone 2 classic. After incurring damage during the ISA invasion of Helghan, the depot has been converted to process nuclear Petrusite. The Helghast made extensive use of jetpacks to facilitate the reconstruction process, but the harsh conditions resulting from the damage still made it a grueling endeavor. The ISA have locked their sights on Tharsis Depot now that it’s back in full-scale production, and this time they intend to finish the job they started.
To give you a sense of what’s changed, this video shows comparisons of the original and the new version:
The second video shows the new version of Radec Academy, a Warzone map for 24 players. Devastated by the ongoing struggle between ISA and Helghast forces, the once-proud Radec Academy is now a ruinous shell of its former self. Although the soul of the Academy remains intact, the compound has suffered greatly, with strewn rubble and emplaced StA-3 miniguns serving as grim reminders of the fierce battles fought in the area. As the ISA forces once again push into the Academy compound, attempting to scavenge a downed MAWLR, the Helghast troops hastily fortify their defenses within its perimeter.

DLC Pack 3 “From The Ashes” contains four maps and will be available from the PlayStation Store on 22nd of June for €4.99\£3.99. Newcomers to Killzone 3 will be interested to learn that we’re also releasing a DLC Bundle Pack including the Retro Pack, the Steel Rain Pack and the From The Ashes Pack for just €9.99\£7.99. Gotta say I prefer the look of Radec on KZ2 but Tharsis looks pretty cool with the new artic feel. By the way any news on whether we’ll get some remade Killzone 1/Killzone Liberation maps?

Why and why can’t you guys have Guerilla warfare mode on every map????The same goes to Warzone. I can understand operation because that’s probably takes alot more time to do.
So please could you guys be so kindle to say the reason beyond why you are doing like this?

If it isn’t free for PS+ I don’t want it. The way GG do these maps is useless, who want maps that don’t work on all game modes? A map pack with 1 map for Warzone and 1 map for Guerrilla Warfare is stupid.

GG, i love you guys, but you have completely messed up Killzone 3 Online. Why release map packs 2 at a time? And why are these maps only playable on specific game modes such as warzone or guerrilla warfare? Honestly i played online for around 2 weeks before getting bored because it was such a mess! By releasing 2 maps at a time you are completely dividing the community making it impossible to find a full game! Get your act together GG!

Kivi95, dude just, stop it. GG already went downhills with their game, like somebody said, why couldnt you have these maps already in MP than doing DLC? First GG makes worst maps, then they are taking the KZ2 maps back to KZ3 and makes us pay for it. Seriously guys, this should be free becuse of ur game that is nothing but wannabe Call of Duty.

KZ2 had some of the best FPS maps ever, and KZ3 had some of the worst. good to bring back some oldies i guess. but i sold my copy long time ago.

No operations and 1 ‘mode’ per map. It’s like they (Sony) took a good franchise and decided to offer the very least they could to make the very most they could – with no thought to the buyers or their long-term standing in the market.

These maps look fantastic, really nicely re-worked.
Tharsis looks quite a bit different so it will be interesting to see how that plays.
Radec looks stunning, so much richer than the original.
Notice that there are some new open doors in the large hall which sits between what were the library and theatre! Can’t wait to see what’s through there.

Having just examined the videos closer I can see that the new area on Radec consists of 3 connected square rooms and it appears the middle one is a TSP.
Can’t wait to get on this map!

Will there be a new ps+ update tomorrow with free content? I’ve been waiting since the ps+ update in april for free content, but we only got 2 games and i already had those games, and my exams are done, so i want something to do now. Please answer this

are you going to fix the god awful pause when one of your friends goes on/offline its getting fukking annoying now making not play the game
