Hello Everyone
Avid PlayStation Blog readers may recall that when Gran Turismo 5 launched in November last year, alongside the standard and collector’s edition versions of the game, we also launched the GT5 Signature Edition.
Nestling amongst a host of premium content contained within the glossy sculpted metal box was the entry card to a unique competition to win a real life supercar – the gull-winged Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG.
The 6.2 litre dream machine that one triumphant Gran Turismo 5 gamer will eventually own is one of the world’s most sought after vehicles and delivers 571hp, acceleration of 0-100km/h in 3.8 seconds and a top speed of 317km/h.
Having honed their skills and mastered Gran Turismo 5′s in-game B-Spec mode, our 15 finalists will now take part in the real-life Mercedes-Benz GT5 Driving Challenge between 11th & 12th July at the famous Red Bull Ring in Austria in their bid for the top prize.
Standing between them and some seriously hot wheels are a number of testing challenges put together by an expert AMG driving team including former F1 star David Coulthard, and Bernd Schneider, the legendary German DTM driver.
Eventually, following a final a head-to-head drag race, one winner shall emerge with the keys to one of the world’s most exotic supercars.
To put things in context, getting yourself into one of the exclusive AMG driving schools is probably a dream enough experience for most of us, so it’s pretty incredible to think that very soon a PlayStation gamer will emerge from the Driving Challenge event as the proud owner of the flagship AMG sportscar – all from having qualified through Gran Turismo 5.
You can find full details of the fortunate 15 and follow their progress in the Signature Edition finale on Facebook.
We will be sure to bring you news of what is certain to be an extraordinary experience for all of them and one that’s going to be extra special for one person.

Sorry for hi-jacking this blogpost, but my bought avatar seems not working. I reckon someone from the blog said that we can’t have custom avatars, because they have to go sure everything should work… well … what should I do now? I already activated it on my account management after downloading it…

It wouldn’t be a GT5 post without someone asking about the next update and DLC? So I’m happy to be that guy
Nice car btw. The SLS has really grown on me.

to be honest i would rate this game a 9/10 but there’s a few cars not in it, i would rate it 10/10 if it had vauxhalls dealership n other cars such as the opel astra gsi mk3,opel astra gte, ford serria rs cossie these cars i think would have more people interested.

Dude, Atleast they have a few of those brands of car’s, they have only 2 holden’s in the entire game, If anything they should make more good car’s from the other brand’s, rather then the slow one’s

I think Adding More F1′s and More Unique Event’s would make the game more interesting then Adding more car’s Though
