If this post makes no sense… It’s because my brain isn’t working at all well due to the fact I have just got back from Glastonbury, a festival which makes you remember what music is all about… Fun, dancing and good times, as do all good festivals. Over the coming weeks we have features from some of the best around the world so you can get a taste of what you can expect from the likes of Sonisphere, Wireless Festival, Putte i Parken and Super Bok Rok (see separate headings below for full details), and then hopefully still get your hands on some tickets!
What, Can’t afford tickets? What’s that, you want us to get you some? Bit cheeky isn’t it? OK, OK, let’s see… Well it just so happens that we have 2 full weekend tickets to the UK leg of Sonisphere to give away. All you got to do is go our Facebook and enter our little sweepstake for your chance to win. Also, We are unable to provide transport to the festival so if you are outside the UK then make sure you can get to the UK on the date with your tent and festival hat!
Keep reading for allllllllllll the other vid-tastic (new word alert!!) features we got coming up.

Hello,
I’m from Algeria, I have a valid adress in Switzerland so I have a Swiss account, I CANNOT ACCESS TO VIDZONE.
Are there solutions to this ? When Vizdone will be online in the north of Africa ?
Thank you.
Posted on 1 July, 2011 at 11:27 am by Ben Creasey
Sorry, VidZone is only available inside the country borders we have launched in, so you would actually have to be in Switzerland to get Swiss VidZone
We plan to launch to more countries if we can but it takes a long time to make it viable to do this (we need to make money in order to run the service)
Sorry you can’t get VidZone but maybe one day soon

Hi obiadekanobi1980
Sorry about the lack of hardcore videos, we have tried to track down some labels who own the rights and it is proving difficult. It takes quite a while from finding a label to getting their videos live (legal, formatting etc takes AGES!) Don’t worry, we will keep trying.
As for the Floyd, they are very picky witht heir digital rights, as soon as the band say yes to more things we will get them live!
Hope that helps

Is there any way to watch music videos in other languages on VidZone without making a new account (So Tokio Hotel in German or Laura Pausini in Italian)?
Posted on 1 July, 2011 at 11:25 am by Ben Creasey
Hi Ayasir
You can only see videos licensed in your country due to legal reasons. Most labels do have licenses for all their artists in most countries so you should get all the international artists you desire, if not we do try and find the label that does have the rights so we can make it live in that country. If there is anything you think we are missing then can you email playstation@vidzone.tv
Hope this helps

Sony and the dividing of content in Europe is a huge, enormous let down. For this service and any other service they come up with. They´re business model is inadequate and frustrating for they´re customers. please take the time to get that fixed before release more and more cut up services over Europe!
As a customer I´m used to go to YouTube, type in a song and get the clip. I understand in the service you provide that is “difficult” and maybe not “possible” but it´s inadequate and you shouldn´t present it.

It just doesn’t work. Like at all. Whenever I try to play some videos, e.g. Foo Fighters, it tries to load the video but then it just stops and nothing happens.. WTH???
Posted on 1 July, 2011 at 11:17 am by Ben Creasey
Hi Spaulding
We are having licensing issues at the moment. We are working on rectifying these but it might take a little time. We haven’t removed the videos as it would remove them from everyone’s playlists which woudln’t be great.
We apologise massively for this, but it will be rectified soon

@Spaulding – All Sony videos aren’t working because VidZone and Sony have licensing issues. They also haven’t uploaded any Sony videos onto VidZone for months now.
Hope this helps!

In response to andrefpvs good song choice my friend I love the Veronicas however The Veronicas are signed to Sire Records which is owned by Warner Music Group and Vidzone doesn’t have the licenses for record company’s that are owned by Warner Music. Ben if your reading this why has the Sony music entertainment owned music disappeared come on Ben Vidzone is on the PS3 which is product owned by Sony. And is Vidzone is always going to be locked down by licensing issues it annoys me when videos go missing from the service and will you ever get a deal with Warner Music Group. I know this post seems mean Ben but i want Vidzone to be the best music VOD service ever.

VidZone is not available in UAE (AE) right? This post comes up in the blog for UAE but it isn’t relevant to us until the application is launched here. (Same with MUBI)
