A colleague of mine came along for her first E3 this year and commented, “I would never have known there were so many games journalists in this world.” Everywhere you look, interviews are happening, new games are being played, and it’s indicative of just how much news comes out of the event.
For the keenest of fans, it can be hard to keep up so, now that the avalanche has abated, here are some of the E3 trailers you might have missed. Let us know in the comments which titles you’re most looking forward to and, if you have any questions around any of them, ask away – it’s a lot easier for me to seek out the answers now that I’m back in the office.
I am delighted to bring you news of the continued exploits of a PlayStation gamer who some of you may have heard of – a young chap from Spain called Lucas Ordoñez.
Those of you who are Gran Turismo or GT Academy fans may recall the story of Lucas – the winner of the inaugural GT Academy back in 2008. Following successful campaigns in the European GT4 Cup driving a Nissan 370Z, this year Lucas stepped up to race a Nissan-powered LMP2 car in the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup. With his Signatech Nissan team-mates, Franck Mailleux and Soheil Ayari, Lucas fulfilled a lifelong ambition by competing in one of the greatest races in the world – the Le Mans 24 Hours.
Our little big game is now on sale on the PlayStation Store. Under Siege is an action and strategy game in real time, where a small group of heroes fight against a huge invading army. We developed Under Siege to be played with the DualShock 3 controller and it also supports PlayStation Move.
We also boost lots of cool features such as video recording, custom music, video chat all in true full 1080p in Dolby Digital 5.1
The prices are €14.99€ (€8.99 for Plus members) and £11.99 (£7.14 in Plus)
It is available in six languages, English, French, German, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese.
It includes a full Campaign, 2 player multiplayer online and local and the same Editor used by us to create the game itself.
The Editor is one of the most important features we put in Under Siege. We started production on it before making the game so we that made sure our level designers created everything directly on a PS3 with a DualShock 3. This way it was possible to keep on upgrading and improving the features and usability while the game was being made.
Currently the Editor has many tools that allow to do a varied number of things such as:
Sculp and paint the terrain
Add water to create rivers and lakes
Change light intensity, colour, position and other effects
Place and rotate props like trees, houses and walls
Place units and determine their AI, line of sight, colour and team
Create cut-scenes with your own lines of text and many different characters
But above all, you can create your own logic with a simple trigger system that allows for the creation of new types of levels, modes and even totally different gameplay.
We also included a Manual that is accessible at all times. To make it easier for everyone to use we are making it available as a PDF. You can download it or print it. Version with graphics. Clean version.
The team is also putting together some video tutorials that will help out in creating content. Talk to us in our forums.
Hi all and welcome back to the SingStore update blog post.
Wow, it’s been a while. It’s good to be back and I hope you were all keeping up-to-date with what was happening with the PSN outage on Twitter @SingStarHQ and @PlaystationEU and not been thinking that I don’t want to talk to you anymore because I definitely do ☺.
Talking of Twitter, we’ve just passed the 1,000 follower mark on Friday so a huge thanks to all of you who support SingStar on there. Make sure you keep on tweetin’ because as always, we just love to see what you get up to every day and night, and especially what you’re singing at the moment.
On to the update which I guess you’re all here for, right? We’ve got a few more songs for you than in recent updates because of the large gap since the April one and I certainly hope you can all find something to download on Wednesday.
With the Electronic Entertainment Expo (or E3, for those in the know) wrapping up this week, we thought it might be nice to give you a quick round-up of the video content we’ve released for Assassin’s Creed Revelations. During the show, we’ve revealed a great many secrets surrounding ACR, detailing a wide variety of new gameplay features as well as delving deeper into the storyline of this essential piece of Ezio’s final adventure. We even had several multiplayer “pods” set up, both at our Ubisoft booth as well as at the Sony PlayStation booth, to enmesh show attendees in our innovative multiplayer (and show off a handful of the planned improvements we’re working on). So, without further ado, take a look below to see what Assassin’s Creed Revelations has in store!
