Hi Guys, thanks for your patience over the weekend. The issue with free Plus memberships not expiring on time has been fixed, so anyone that upgraded to a paid Plus membership will now have full access to all the Plus content on the Store.
On the subject of content it’s also time to announce the first of many Anniversary month treats.
Today we are adding another PSN game to the Plus content – get your hands on the PSN title Castle Crashers, worth £10.99, at no extra cost.
Keep an eye out for more mid month treats coming soon, including some great day one discounts, but I’m afraid for now I’ll have to leave you in Limbo…

Missed the e-mails on the Welcome Back program, so my kids missed out on the free games! They’re still not entitled to e-mails, and I’ve been busy (with the change of jobs) the last 2 months to read all e-mails. I just learned about the program from a friend who also got kids.
Can we still be given consideration and be allowed to download the free games?

Hi, Loving castle crashers, kept me up all night! Any chance of Call of Duty map packs coming to Plus in the future? The worst thing about plus is I’m afraid to buy anything from the store in case it comes to plus later. Can you confirm that any games that Plus members can get a discount for won’t turn up on plus for free later?

Hello!
I’m a PS PLUS subscriber, but can’t download Castle Crashers for free. I can see the demo in the PSN PLUS store, but not the full version. I subscribed for the free PSN PLUS survice a week ago, so it is still active (I also can download other premium stuff).
Any suggestions how to fix the problem?

Welcome back problem fixed… yeah right, I’m still seeing the previous months content with a few extra demo/trials. Checked again last night, still the same and no Golden Axe. I’m on the 30 day free PS+ and still can’t even access everything. I’m guessing Sony made it so the 30 days PS+ is only for June and not for the 30 days onwards from when you activated it. So really it’s not 30 days and more like 1-2 weeks in June only as I’m still only seeing Junes contents and it’s now July 14th.

Please correct me if I’m wrong, but the PS+ 30 days welcome back programme was only make for the June content and not for the following months content, I guess this was made clear somewhere by James either in this post or another one, but I’m pretty sure that I’ve read this clarification before.

You most likely won’t be able to. Sony thought it would be funny to screw with us, only allowing June content regardless of when you activated your free 30 day trial.

Well if so then what happens to all the people that had problems accessing the store to activate it then? As I did. Even had a few problem when going to my account management. Also, 30 days should mean 30 days. If a system is robust enough simplying sending a query to look up a users activated and expiry date should not be a big problem for the free 30 days users and those that have paid before and during this. But then again I’m not a technical/network person.

Nothing, really. All you have after June ended is the PS+ symbol, it doesn’t actually do anything.
I know the US users get their actual 30 days, as in they are getting July content too even if they haven’t subscribed but activated their trial towards the end of June.

Just found Altered Beast and Golden Axe 1 & 2 on steam, very tempted to buy it.. NOW if we only could get a time frame for when it should be fixed… then maybe i could just wait a few more days..

nikoo_89, in my opinion it would be very unfair if the things are the way you say and SONY didn’t warn us for the situation in the very beginning. I’d feel very misled, because if I knew, probably I should activate my subscription long ago, instead of waiting for a content, which suits my preferences better. I understand that it’s not profitable to give so much free stuff, but everything should be clear so that the users can make their choices.

Don’t even get me started. I have a long list myself. One of the reasons I only really reserve my PS3 for the odd exclusive worth playing. So I keep coming back. But play everything else on my.. well you know other consoles. I even have a few friends that don’t even sign in online and play offline and have not updated their PS3 for a very very long time.
I hope Sony become more focussed on the users needs and it’s functionality/usability (as well as it’s integration with PSN) and it’s customer service. Honestly 30 days should mean 30 days. Don’t get me wrong it’s not all hate, but more love hate. With a few exclusives coming out later this year and next I’ll still be playing (so the cycle continues).

I just don’t get why they don’t grant us the access we were promised.. nowhere did they say “NOTE: JUNE CONTENT ONLY”. They have got nothing to lose in giving full access (to the welcome back users) as PS+ will soon be expiring for everyone, and for most it already has. If anything, due to the PS+ exclusive discounts (50%) they’d actually earn more money. My hopes for Sony as a business has long ago dwindled.
@faktoriel, what I was saying is how I’m experiencing this thing. I hear my US friends getting all the July content on their free 30 day PS+ trial, but no-one from the EU are getting any of it.

Who are you refering to? There are no full game unlocks for welcome back users with a PS+ symbol. Only the trials are there and the full game unlocks you have to find on your own, but they still have their pricetags and are lacking the PS+ symbol.

I’m having the same problem with Castle Crashers – can’t see a free upgrade or download. It’s £10.99. I’m also on the Welcome Back temporary 30-day Plus membership. It’s disappointing that this seems to be excluded.
However, I’ve still got my Plus symbol against my username, and the Online Backup still works. I tried it last night, so some Plus features are still working.
Is this intentional or a glitch in PSN, Mr Moderator? It seems odd.

So this means that junes content was for the welcome back people.
Another quote…

A: Your PlayStation Plus 30 day access will expire 30 days from the date you activated it in PlayStation Store.
So you are right that you should still be entitled to your 30 days even if you signed up on the last day… but you would still only get junes content.

I’m stuck in limbo where I have a current Plus membership – Online Backup works – but my content access is restricted – can’t get Castle Crashers for free. Nor can I purchase a full membership, because I already have a ‘restricted’ membership
Please sort this out Sony. It’s a mess and, from the other comments here, I’m clearly not the only one affected.

1. When are you going to fix this problem?

I have the same problem as comment 182.
My welcome back ps plus membership ended on 14th, but I still have the plus symbol and can’t access any July plus content, including the 1 year and 3 month plus memberships. I’ll just re-emphasize that: I’m trying to buy a proper ps+ membership and the store isn’t letting me do that. Please fix this.

Hmm. Mine isn’t fixed anyway. The yellow plus is still on my profile and I can access the cloud saving and automatic download but Streets of rage and the minis have expired. Can’t renew my subscription now but I presume any lapse between whenever it gets fixed and when I renew will leave my content useless?

i have playstation plus and i’m trieng to download castle crashers, but its not free for me somehow. can someone please help me on this? i only have a few days of PSplus left, if this isn’t the last day already.
when i klick on the castle crashers link that sais: PSplus: €0.00 it brings me to the demo, and if i look up the full game it costs me €13.99 instead of €0.00

i have also tried downloading other PSplus only free content and that worked just fine, so it’s not some bug that tells me i have PSplus while i don’t.

It’s not fixed for me. I still have my “free” PS+, which was supposed to run out yesterday. Confirming that I no longer has it, despite the symbol, is the fact that I can no longer access Burnout Paradise.
However, I can’t purchase a new subscription as I keep getting a message from the PS Store telling me that the content cannot be accessed from my account
Once I’m finally allowed to buy a subscription, will I be able to access the PS+ content that I’ve previously downloaded?

It’s not fixed for me either. I have the same problem as 188. I have the plus sign, can’t access burnout cuz it’s ‘expired’ and it won’t let me buy a 1 year subscription cuz of the error telling me this content cannot be accessed on this account.
Any fix yet???

My 30 days free period expired on the 16th July. Neither the days before the 16th, nor until today can I find a link to renew my PS Plus subsription. Is there a link I’m missing, or is this part of the “fixing” process?
Please respond, it’s getting ridiculous. It’s the deciding to buy a subsription that’s supposed to be the hard part, not the actual purchase.
I’m accessing the PS Store from Greece and my account is registered in Greece.

Problem still not fixed. My free PS+ expired yesterday but i still have the Plus-Symbol. The access to downloaded Plus content isn’t possible.
Also i can’t find a renewal of Plus anywhere in the Store and when selecting the anniversary link in the Plus-Store i get the message “Not available for this account”.
