‘Heads-Up’ Game Store Update 20th July 2011

'Heads-Up' Game Store Update 20th July 2011

PlayStation Store (via PS3, PSP and Media Go)

Hi Guys,

Another quiet one in terms of new content this week apart from the hero of the hour – the long awaited Limbo comes to PSN with a 20% day-one discount in Plus and a whole new section of gameplay for you to enjoy. Make sure you give this critically acclaimed title a whirl. Another addition to Plus this week too in the form of 50% day-one discount on the new mini One Epic Game. There’ll be more for you next week, James will be back then to give you the low down.

In other news, the latest chapter of Fallout: New Vegas is also with us today, alongside a wealth of DLC for Cars 2: The Videogame, and more for Bulletstorm, LBP2 and Modation Racers.

But since we’re light on games again this week there can be no better time to launch our Summer Sale! We’ve got loads of great content and as you’ll see below much of it available at 50% off.

We’re also incorporating EA’s Summer of Speed promotion, which features cut-price DLC for Burnout Paradise, NFS Hot Pursuit, Undercover and Shift – take a look at what you can grab a bargain on below.

I’ll see you all in the comments – toodleloo!

I DON’T want Tombi, Resident Evil 2 or 3, Wild arms, Tomb Raider 2 or any others, I WANT CRASH BASH. So there is no need to concentrate just on them, there are other popular games as well. Why don’t you make CRASH BASH number 1 on priority, like the resident evils and other games listed above. My guess is, it’s probably not even in the top 10.

What I don’t understand is that CRASH BASH is a Sony published game; therefore, legally it should take about two weeks to clear. Sony published games are supposed to be much easier to publish therefore should be done first.

Can you please answer ALL of my points and not just one.

SoundableObject 20 July, 2011 @ 2:02 pm   2

You still haven’t fixed my problem with last weeks update. The Awesome Summer Mini Bundle came with the French Version of Zombie Tycoon. I’ve been waiting a week now and am especially angry that you can’t be arsed to fix a mistake with such a small update. You can’t even just give me a refund.

Agamer2006 20 July, 2011 @ 2:03 pm   3

Hey Ross, I cant seem to find the stardust HD Impact DLC on the store. Ive tried searching for it but couldnt find it.

Hey

Just wondering why the PS1 Classic ‘Driver’ is missing from the IRISH PS store, I asked Ubisoft about it but they told me to come back to Sony about it??

cheeky4life 20 July, 2011 @ 2:03 pm   5

Ross

Have you sorted the Cool boarders 2 thumbnail out so I can download it yet?

You guys seriously need to get organised. Tekken 2 is in the S section, the Tomb Raider games are not in order, as well as the final fantasy games, I don’t know which one is which and can you put Crash Team Racing just after Crash: warped, and hopefully Crash bash after that if you ever do decide to wake up and quickly get it.

WhiteBlazey 20 July, 2011 @ 2:04 pm   6

Where the hell are the add-ons for Magic 2012 Ross? They’ve been out on the US for for ages, don’t mean to complain but dude.

Silent_Gig 20 July, 2011 @ 2:04 pm   7

Any word on that Wizardry game?

JolipinatorJG 20 July, 2011 @ 2:04 pm   8

AT LONG LAST. When will this appear in the store?

Raiden74 20 July, 2011 @ 2:04 pm   9

Is there any chance that Scoot Pilgrim vs The World: The Game is going to have a PLUS discount, or be a PLUS freebie anytime soon?
Please answer…

Bealinator 20 July, 2011 @ 2:05 pm   10

Ross,

I just saw the latest bulletstorm dlc, so I might as well as this question: where is the Blood Sonata DLC? It mysteriously dissapeared off the store a while back.

elita411 20 July, 2011 @ 2:05 pm   11

Me again asking about the Pink Knight Castle Crashers DLC.

Nightmare966 20 July, 2011 @ 2:05 pm   12

Good, I’ll take Rain. BTW Ross, any news on the unlockable for Sideswipe in Transformers 3?

TheBigBoss0001 20 July, 2011 @ 2:05 pm   13

Any chance we will get the ‘Heart of Darkness’ or ‘Loaded’ PS1 Classics to the store?

SpideyWolvie 20 July, 2011 @ 2:06 pm   14

Where are the MvC3 avatars, its even comic con week :(

Chocobo115 20 July, 2011 @ 2:06 pm   15

When will we get the pink knight for castle crashers?
Also when will you sort out the missing somgs for Rock Band games? I remember asking this half a year ago and NOTHING has happened at all. Instead of blaming it on the companies (and the companies will blame it on Sony) can you make sure things get fixed? I used to have a complete list of songs gone missing on the store but have no access to it right now

Agamer2006 20 July, 2011 @ 2:06 pm   16

Also ross, do you know when we will be getting the new Worms 2 Packs?

Bealinator 20 July, 2011 @ 2:06 pm   17

Oh yes,

Loving the Burnout DLC discount! Will pick up Big Surf Island and Cops and Robbers for sure!

Let’s try Limbo!

(and the Motorstom DLC)

Hum Burnout Paradise add on packs look tempting, specially since I got the game for free. I’m sure you mentioned something extra from Plus around now too

cheeky4life 20 July, 2011 @ 2:07 pm   20

nobody wants to buy them rubbish PSone games and are we going to get any new ones any time this year?

Spaulding 20 July, 2011 @ 2:07 pm   21

Where is Auditorium HD? :-(

Bealinator 20 July, 2011 @ 2:07 pm   22

An actual question from me though:

ETA on Tombi? And have you had discussions with publishers over reducing the price of old DLC? Fallout 3 springs to mind. The price cut of Burnout Paradise DLC is a very, very good way to deal with old content!

Gautier82 20 July, 2011 @ 2:07 pm   23

Hi Ross! What about persona 3 portable on PSN ? Thx

Xenostar 20 July, 2011 @ 2:08 pm   24

EH!
I can buy the NFS Hot pursuit DLC seperatley for £12.80 or in the bundle for £13.99, do you guys understand the concept of a bundle?

lonewolf23786 20 July, 2011 @ 2:08 pm   25

when will we get teh SNK games that were released on Xbox Live to PSN? Examples are Garou Mark of the Wolves, Neo Geo Battle Coliseum and King of Fighters 02 Unlimited Match. Please release them on PSN!

adumr82 20 July, 2011 @ 2:08 pm   26

The commitment to this blog has been pathetic recently. Are there any plans to treat the community with more respect?

Suzzopher 20 July, 2011 @ 2:08 pm   27

How long does the sale last?

Dante_Zero 20 July, 2011 @ 2:08 pm   28

so whats happening with the promised PS plus mid month treats or is it just the discount for limbo and thats it?

TwinBlade04 20 July, 2011 @ 2:08 pm   29

Hey there, Ross! :)

I got a new PS3 and transferred all the data from the old one. The game data (installs and updates) was causing problems in the process, so I deleted all of them thinking I could just update/install everything again. And it all well for all games, except for Motorstorm 1.

Well, Motorstorm doesn’t update the way other games do nowadays. I need to enter the game and choose “Online” from the menu so I can download the update. The problem is that it seems the servers were closed and there’s no way to download the update. And without the update I can’t use the DLC packs which I bought a few years ago and are still on sale in the store. That doesn’t seem fair.

I know the game is quite old now and the sequels are already available, but what concerns me the most is not being able to use the DLC I bought previously.
Is there a way you can explain this problem to the Evolution Studios and sort out a way for people that bought the DLC (and will buy, since they are still in the store) to download the update, please?

Hope you can help me. Keep at it :)!

*crosses fingers for a reply from Ross*

DrNate86 20 July, 2011 @ 2:08 pm   30

Hello! Is there any chance of Heart of Darkness making it as a PS1 Classic? A stunning game I’d love to play again!

super-mario-3z 20 July, 2011 @ 2:09 pm   31

Hello Ross when will we get the playstation one title Spyro the Dragon? I have waited for a very long time to get this game as the Americans and Japanese got this game a while ago and am very disappointed not to find it on the UK Store. I would buy it straight away if it was on there. Thanks

Shou_Kobayashi 20 July, 2011 @ 2:09 pm   32

First of all – WOW – you really, really, really delivered on that sale… I’m interested esp in 2 games of that list (SWARM & BTTF!) and for this price, they are really a steal… I mean 9.99 € for an episodic adventure … wow!

However, I’m missing something, namely Warhammer 40.000: Kill Team, THQ said, it’s already into submission. Can I hope for july… or rather early august?

Then Limbo is a tad too expensive for me, unfortunatelly.

Also can you please ask these nice guys who did Under Siege to provide a Demo? I’m interested, but I would surely try the game before purchasing…

On another note, PsOne Classics and US Imports … you got the list ;) — also Final Fantasy VII-2 – EVEN MOAAR FFVII is still missing! ;p

cheeky4life 20 July, 2011 @ 2:09 pm   33

where is your PSone blog you were talking about ages ago?

please don’t avoid the question, ross

toxic-inferno 20 July, 2011 @ 2:09 pm   34

Any news on any Spyro or Tomb Raider 2 PSOne classics?

Back to the future episode 5????

liortttttttttttt 20 July, 2011 @ 2:09 pm   36

Hey ross when do we get some new details door the resistance 3 beta trial for ps plus or a release date? Thnx

jonnatarTM 20 July, 2011 @ 2:10 pm   37

Second time lucky?
Ross, can you PLEASE look into what’s going on with the missing Rock Band DLC listed here
http://www.rockband.com/forums/showthread.php?t=216515
which according to Harmonix was reported to you at the beginning of March and still hasn’t been resolved. Also some of the songs that are supposed to be free downloads – and indeed still are on those ‘other consoles’ they have nowadays – are listed at 99p on PSN.

Sergirt 20 July, 2011 @ 2:10 pm   38

Hi, hi, me again ;)!

Ross, can you PLEASE look into what’s going on with the missing Rock Band DLC listed here
http://www.rockband.com/forums/showthread.php?t=216515
which according to Harmonix was reported to you at the beginning of March and still hasn’t been resolved. Also some of the songs that are supposed to be free downloads – and indeed still are on those ‘other consoles’ they have nowadays – are listed at 99p on PSN.

and still the dlc announced on the 20th of April for Ar Tonelico is still not on the store

and the dlc /update whatever for White Knight Chronicles 2- said would be up in a couple of weeks – now its 3 weeks – when is it actually coming?

also do you think someone could take the time and fix the issue with being able to buy content whilst in game (White Knight Chronicles) – people want to buy georama parts but are unable to as we keep getting errors when trying to enter into store to purchase scenery or jobs parts

Any indication for Worms 2 DLC addon’s?

I noticed the Puzzle Pack was available last week in the USA, but not anymore?

Really wanna have a go at the new content.
