Hello everyone, it’s Wednesday and so time for a Store update.
A few new PS3 titles for you this week – leading the charge is the hotly anticipated Section 8: Prejudice, fresh from a tour of duty on the other platform and raring to go on PSN. And what’s more, for this week only you’ll be able to purchase Section 8: Prejudice with both of its DLC packs included at no extra cost – grab this deal while you can as it’ll be gone before you know it.
Plus members get a little something extra too, as James previously mentioned, not only will Plus consumers get an exclusive in-game unlock but the first 1000 Plus members who are opted in for email who buy the game will get a free copy of the original Section 8!
What else this week? You can take your pick between a relaxing few holes on the minigolf course or defending your neighbourhood from bloodthirsty zombies – I appreciate that’s not an easy decision.
Four PSP titles also take the plunge and move to Essentials today, so it’s a great time to grab a bargain on one of these Disney games – we’ve also permanently reduced the price of the DLC for both Hannah Montana and Toy Story 3.
The LA Noire avatars make an appearance this week too, alongside a new Traffic case, and we’ve got a good selection of DLC for some other goodly titles for you to sift through.
Oh and something called Call of Duty: Black Ops has a map pack out tomorrow, I’m sure some of you will be interested.
That’s it from me, enjoy your content and get ready to Play.

I would also like to see more clarity on the q&a process to. maybe if we had more understanding of what goes on that we perhaps would be more patient. as it stands I can only look at it from a consumers point of view because I have no underestand of SCEE’s q&a.
also just on a note of feedback. in future if your not able to make replys. please just pop a quick comment letting us know. just a suggestion though

Yeah I normally do let people know if I’m not going to be around but I know I haven’t the last couple of weeks.
I’m not allowed to talk about the QA process much becaue it’s all internal stuff, but it can be quite complicated. Think of it like a driving text, with Minors and Majors. Only takes one Major and you fail.
Posted on 29 July, 2011 at 12:42 pm by Ross McGrath
Driving TEST, what the heck is a driving text? You’d get arrested for that.

Thanks for your answer James.
I will look over the store for your team and drum up a list to help you out.
Yes!! Homework.
As for the Soul Reaver issue, I gathered it was that fact. A replacement game would be most welcome, but I still cannot see the logic in SCEE plainly choosing a game that it knew was not released in all locales. I know NZ is a small market but we do pay the same, if not more for the service. If I cast you back a few months we never received Lead and Gold due to it not being released here. No replacement game was made available.
I understand that this may occur due to a simple oversight prior to release, but a replacement should be available to download within a day or so.
Thank you for your time.
Dudley

Perfectly fair points, I will gladly see what I can do for the NZ consumers.

@Ross
Did you ever sleep during replying? I must admit I wouldn’t have answered after office hrs, just shows how much you really care (in contrary to others believe). You proved a lot of ppl wrong, including me and I want again apologise for questioning you.
I’m speechless and I curious about monday… I will hold off buying anything until the announcement, just in case. If you keep it that much of a secret it will be some hard hitter. Though I hope this SURPRISE doesn’t get plugged on the last minute… than again, I’m confident it will be worth every wait, just by seeing all that dedication…

Kudos for the massive ammount of feedback this week young man. Notice how everybody becomes a little less hostile when they think someone is actually listening to them?
Anyway, well done my friend.

@ ROSS
I know that Stacking was free to PS+ a few months back but is there any chance that we could have a discount pack, say £7.99 for the full game & Hobo DLC??

I will ask THQ on your behalf.

I know your uSed to me moaning, but over the last month I’ve got over myself.
Im sorry Ross, and James, for my idiotic moaning over the last few months.
Thank you for your hard work, and im looking forward to your Monday suprise
Oh and Ross… 150+ replies? WOW. Fair play to you mate, talk about putting haters (of which i suppose I used to be) in there place. Fair play to you.
Posted on 29 July, 2011 at 1:37 pm by Ross McGrath
Hey, you are quite welcome – I know things don’t always go smoothly around here and everyone has a right to feedback on issues.
Sometimes you look at a big, international company and they’re faceless and so you can’t understand when stuff doesn’t work EXACTLY as you’d expect it to all the time, but there’s just a bunch of people back here making the cogs turn and sometimes things don’t go to plan.
There’s a bunch of stuff going on at the moment to try and make your experiences better and we are all aware of the mistakes and issues that come up – we’ll do our best to keep fixing them if you keep spotting them and hopefully we’re moving towards a place where everything works a whole lot better.

Hi Ross, do you have any news about MK9 DLC`s who disappeared from Russian PS Store?

I’m not able to comment I’m afraid, other than that they have been removed from the Store.

@Ross:
Thank you for your reply mate, not expecting it (not in a complaining way this time though!)
Yeah i think I finally grew up a bit and realised it. The fact you tell us anything is great. You could just (‘you’ not necessarily meaning you personally), cut off comments and now allow anyone to comment, just use it as info, but no, you, James and everyone else endeavour to respond to all relevant posts.
Thank you. I lookd forward to more blog posts from yourself and others in the future.

is there any joy on the heavy rain: move edition issue about the missing content?
Posted on 29 July, 2011 at 1:49 pm by Ross McGrath
Actually yes, I will let Ross Alexander go into more detail but the issue was raised and being looked into right now and we are working out the best way to get the content to everyone effected.

just had email from dice to see if i want to take part in battledfeild 3 alpha trial on pc is there anything like this happening on ps3
469
Posted on 29 July, 2011 at 2:26 pm by Catkiller1
@ 466
Unfortunately no as it’s PC only!
There is a BETA arriving early September for anyone that had Medal Of Honor Tier 1 Edition, like me & that will be PS3, then 2 weeks later it will be an open BETA.
The BETA in early September will be fully playable & it will be at the next stage of testing. To be honest the ALPHA BETA is awful!
Very, very laggy & there are alot of bugs with the movement & soldier layouts, but it is at ALPHA stages, so i’m not worried.

Hey Ross,
Thanks for braving the comments this week. Some people on here really need to learn to not be so self entitled and to have a bit of respect.
Just wondering if it would be possible to, every other month or so, make a blog post briefly detailing what PSN games are up and coming over the next quarter? A good few games seem to slip onto the store that I’ve never heard of before, and it would be nice to see what they are about and to have some games to look forward to.
Also, is ‘No One Can Stop Mr Domino’ on the PS1 classics list?
Cheers,
Talvin
Posted on 30 July, 2011 at 1:11 pm by Ross McGrath
Hey Talvin,
Sorry no, the kind of blog post you’re talking about just isn’t possible. Only the publishers or creators of the game can choose to announce when their game exists or when it’s coming out and most choose to announce the release date itself fairly close to release.

Seriously, I just can’t imagine any reason for you to be unable to comment on Mortal Kombat DLC disappearance from Russian PS store. Unless, oh my, you have absolutely no idea what happened. Disgusting.

Posted on 29 July, 2011 at 6:55 pm by GaykMosaic
I suppose we’ll not find the truth. Since there are no any comments from PSStore I decided to switch to XB in future. The silence from Sony is not the way in selling commercial products.
I also work in huge transnational telecom vendor company as a sales manager and I know that such companies concentrate the attention generally on the big and reach markets. But we NEVER ignore any customers!!! But Sony thinks that it is able to ignore as long as possible!

What you mean silence Ross has already given us a deafening response your point is Most furtie let see what monday brings before hasty decision.

Ross probably really doesn’t able to comment the Russian PS Store situations. I agree with you that he comments many posts, commonly related with UK store. Here we ask Ross about issues, because Russian PS Store forum moderators don’t comment AT ALL. Just really keep the silence…soooo sad…

Thanks Ross for the reply to #409.
I will do that then.
So you were not on holiday the last weeks and you haven’t had any since dec. 2009? Damn man, go on vacation soon, just make sure somebody is there to replace you or else things is going to blow up
Sometimes I get the feeling you guys are way short staffed, which sucks for everybody. Who do we need to complain to?

Ah I very much look forward to this surprise coming on Monday now. I can only hope one of the surprises is Wild Arms or that Wild Arms is coming in the next month, I’m literally an eager beaver to play it again seeing as I lost it for my PSOne during a house move.
Oh and the fact that you took time out of your own day to do SO MANY comments? Your a legend Ross.

can you look into a game called Socom tactical strike as a download please? It’s published by Sony I believe. It’s on the PSP. Thanks.

Well, I know why MK DLC was removed from Russian PS store – game does not support russian language and DLC descriptions in in-game menu were displayed incorrectly. Now, since you kept this a secret for some BS reason can you at least tell us if you will ever fix it? As far as I know you guys plan to never fix it. As if it’s hard to simply make all DLC invisible from in-game menu, but available in store itself where descriptions are correct.
Sony secrecy and laziness is starting to [DELETED] me off.

Thank you for replying to my comment Ross.
I don’t think that most of these people are insulting you its just when people have have not had replies for quite some time we can get impatient esepcially if users are having problems with their downloaded content. And I myself have always seen a lot of responses from you so its great to see you commenting again. And I think with people’s respones to comment number 1 is that its been posted a lot the past updates and it comes off as a bit aggressive.
I’m looking forward to the news on Monday. Do you know why Diner Dash was taken off PSN? I’ve been meaning to download it but I wanted to wait until a sale but it was taken off a while back.
Do you know if maybe in the future PS1 classics will have trophies? Or is it because they are emulated that they can’t have one? And two PS1 classics I forgot to add that I would LOVE to see are:
Evil Dead
Legend of Kartia
Thanks again for replying Ross.

Hello –
Diner Dash was removed because of the license expiring I believe, we were asked to remove it by the publisher.
I don’t think you’ll ever see trophies in emulated content I’m afraid, trophies simply aren’t supported by PSone or minis – thank you for the suggestions though.

@sjw17 It’s none of your business. I stop making complaints about that, when I hear a sensible response.

Hi Ross,
I just wanted to specify that the Harvestasha alternative personality patch modules from Ar tonelico are only accessible via the search engine.
It lacks the default personality though.

Hi Ross.
I emailed Konami about Castlevania Symphony of the Night, didn’t get much of a response, just told me they don’t talk about releases.
Hope SquareEnix release Star Ocean 2 and Parasite Eve to download, any possibility?

Hi ross,
do you know why I can’t see the Arkham Asylum DLC on my PS Store?
Thanks.

Hey Ross, thanks for taking the time to come back and reply to comments, it’s hugely appreciated but I think it’ll be a lot less hassle for everyone if you or someone else could stick around Wednesday afternoons for any issues that arise. There’s been a couple of weeks in recent memory where there has been missing content or pricing errors (NFS bundle wasn’t an error granted, but it was strange and as nobody was around last week to answer the question we assumed it was an error, not a massive leap given the BG&E and MK pricing errors last month)

When you said tomb raider 2 failed at QA, what does this mean I’m dying for this game to get released, also is resident evil 2 on the card (fingers crossed) sorry if this has been asked before I’m new and this is my first post

Ha ha, you still got it Ross.
Maybe you could release a book, “How to turn a bunch of snarling savages into sycophantic softies in seven simple steps”.
I’m thinking Chris Eubank for the ad voice over. lol

Thanks for reading my suggestion and passing it on Ross. That was all I needed
I understand you may not be in a place to give your feedback about it, but I just wanted to get the suggestion through somehow.
Have a nice day!
