THQ Inc. today announced that arcade shooter, Warhammer 40,000: Kill Team will be available to purchase for Playstation Network on the 2nd August in North America and 10th August in Europe.
In this third person arcade style shooter, players take on the role of an elite Space Marine team sent to assault a giant Ork Kroozer en-route to an Imperial Forge World. Do you have what it takes to take out the Warboss and prevent the WAAAGH!?
Players who complete the first mission in Kill Team will unlock the deadly Power Sword weapon for use in multiplayer in the upcoming Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine. Sheathed in a power field, it cuts through armor and flesh alike and features unique animations, combos and damage output.
Kill Team allows players to choose from four unique classes, including ranged specialists the Sternguard Veteran and Techmarine, and more melee focused classes like the Vanguard Veteran and Librarian. With two-player same screen Co-operative play, multiple weapon upgrades and six iconic Space Marine chapters to select from, Kill Team is a must-play for fans of Warhammer 40,000.
More information can be found on the Kill Team tab on Space Marine’s Facebook page.
Kill Team is scheduled to launch for Playstation Network for a suggested price of £6.29/€7.99.
Space Marine is set to launch in early September worldwide. To take advantage of FREE in-game content go to SpaceMarine.com and pre-order today.

I am a little annoyed about having to wait an extra week more than the US has to, especially as we PS3 users in general have had to wait an extra month longer than X-Box 360 users, but at least it is only a week. Some games take months to make their way over the Atlantic.
Good price as well, especially if there is a Plus discount.

It’s an old XBLA game, and – great shame – only fun in offline co-op. What’s up with all those old XBLA games being presented like some new content?
New Warhammer 40K game (the retail one) looks neat though, it may be worth buying this small old game just to get exclusive item – you only need to complete 1 mission in Kill Team to get the item.

I am bloody excited for this and as for Space Marine, I’ve pre-ordered the standard edition as I would prefer to found my own chapter or recreate a relatively unknown chapter (such as Tauran, White Minotaurs or Brazen Minotaurs).

Looks great, can’t wait!
But what I’d like to know is why it’s out in the US 8 days before the UK?
THQ is in Surrey and Games Workshop is in Nottingham!!

can i ask why is this getting released one month after the xbox (it wasn’t a summer of arcade release like from dust) and a week after the us. Especially seeing as it is an English franchise with it’s main fanbase in this country?
Seems like sony aren’t really trying any more

looks cool, this and space marine.
but you know what would be really cool, a warhammer 40k rpg.
that would be AWESOME.

@HazelAM
Something like Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance set in the W40K universe, I’d definitely buy that?

it is a fun game , for an hour in between other play sessions .
and if you like the warhammer universe ,even better !
the game is 800 mp on xbox marketplace / 10 euro and well worth it in my book. got it the second it came online .

I looked for this on PSN, no show, so I got it on XBLA, now you say its coming to PSN!!! Arghhh!! I aint buying it again for 1 weapon…look it is about time these games had simultaneous release on both consoles…..I have both consoles so I got it on XBLA as no annoucement was made until today for PSN? I only got it wednesday so I gave it plenty of time to be announced on PSN..how annoying…!

Played it already on 360 great game with old school gameplay. would defo recommend it to others to have a go on. Only downside the co-op mode wasn’t online. still 7/10 worthy.

Possibly the worst title for a game of all time.
“Kill Team”. You tits. I know there’s a reasonable market of people who like GW stuff and will buy it whatever, but you could have at least tried to get some newbies in with an appealing title.

FINALLY! This is a welcome addition, and a good bonus for my pre-ordered Space Marine
Kill Team is a good title, what’s wrong with it?
#21 and #22: google Dark Millennium, it’s a WH40k MMO coming in 2012/2013 from THQ/Vigil Games.

@31 There is nothing to suggest that it is PS3 bound, though.

I have to admit that first waiting for a release date in general was bad, and to wait a month after the Xbox is worse. Normally I don’t mind waiting, but this game I’ve been waiting a lot for. Hope Space Marine arrives on schedule.

Oh Yeah can’t wait for this and spacemarine, about time we had a 40k game on the playstation and playing as a deathwatch killteam too how cool is that, just wish you could pick from a whole range of chapters to play in spacemarine, blood angels or spacewolves would be really cool
