Earlier today we announced Sucker Punch Productions has officially joined Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios. We’re thrilled to share the news and welcome Sucker Punch to the PlayStation family.
Brian Fleming, managing partner of Sucker Punch Productions had this to say about becoming the sixteenth studio to join PlayStation:
“We’ve enjoyed an incredible relationship with Sony that has allowed us to combine our creative design capabilities with their guidance to make some of the best franchises to hit the PlayStation platforms. Equally important, the relationship with SCE has provided us the flexibility and trust to take creative risks and invent new properties. And best of all, we get to keep doing what we do — pushing ourselves to make more innovative games and more exciting experiences for PlayStation gamers!”
We’ve worked closely with Sucker Punch for more than 12 years, bringing fan favorites like Sly Cooper series and, of course, the inFAMOUS storyline to life on PlayStation platforms. On behalf of our executive team and Worldwide Studios, I’d like to take just a moment to welcome this immensely talented group of individuals to our team. I look forward to seeing what kind of gaming magic we can make happen in the months and years ahead!

Posted on 2 August, 2011 at 2:15 pm by Skookie30

I loved inFAMOUS, The Sly Collection and inFAMOUS 2.
I believe SCE’s the best publisher in the world from a developer relations and content standpoint.

Good bye creativity and innovation, hello mainstreaming for the sake of mainstreaming.
Was nice knowing you, Sucker Punch, but this is farewell.

Make a new IP if another inFAMOUS would be forced.
Nice move Sony. What’s next?

yes lets hope sony dont do a london studio they cancled the getaway and that 8 days to make them make singstar crap leave them do what they do best make awsome games for just us!!!!
i worry when this happens as sony now own them and if they do a bad game or a game fails they can slice the studio up and ppl saying this wont happen well we all kow how ruthless sony can be sometimes,
id rather they spend there money in getting the timed exclusives of M$ as the call of duty deal with acti ends in 2012 and it would be awsome even if sonty put an offer in this time it would be a huge coup de gra for us and a middle finger to M$ for all those years of getting everything months after the day of release i havent bought one map pack off acti due to this and i cant see how the money they got for it could be anywhere near the money theyd get for selling on both consloes they are just greedy sods and i dont give them any of my cash i bought all the CODs secondhand so they dont get a penny
but im glad they are now part of the community of devs belonging to sony now lets drop infamous and get back to something brand new i recon a scifi scooter/rpg or a huge action adventure game using the same style as infamous that would be awsome!!!

Great news. Now if only SCEE would merge with SCEA and provide us with parity and equality and a brand we could really get behind.

Oh, yeah. There will be an inFamous sequel now, even though the series actually end in I2. And the title will be identical to Assassin’s Creed. Rejoice.

@AaronSOLDIER
insomniac wanted to remain independent, nothing they could do about it.Plus Sony own their noted IP’s,and I think you could find a company to create another R&C game,or Resistance.Even test out a smaller dev on a handheld version and see if they could continue the franchise.
Strange thing is,It wasn’t that long ago Sucker Punch were saying the same thing about being independent.Wonder what’s changed.
