The Weekend Debate: Gamescom Cometh

Those events should be for gamers not only for journalists, meeting small devs, talk to them, ask questions and have opportunity to tell “thanks mate for your efforts” is an great thing for me. LiveStreams, mainly they are great, but there should be some one site – with all of them, searching for them thru web is insane

Hi James, I won one of your section 8 codes last week but i have yet to receive the pm on the community site. Ive pm’d other winners and some have got codes and some havent. What should i do Mr James!?

I dont want to set up camp and wait for the voucher to walk by before i snare it and drag it off, caveman style.

I would love to see a livestream and after the main event (Sony Press Conferences) you should be able to download them in a PS3 friendly format. Especially when you have other things to do, while the show is running.

Also I’d love to see afterwards PR material flow out really fast. The blog should be in a heat of incoming content.

In addition, we should be able to engange with these events more.

It would be nice if PlayStation.Blog would invite us to select what should be covered first etc. or let us ask questions to specific games and get the answer straight from the developer.

As an extra, since you know a bit what will be coming, you could prepare sales or sth. like that on the SCEE store.

For example if ther would be any CRITTER CRUNCH 2 – discount the first one or roll out themes and avatars… sth. to go along. Sure there will be also some prep time needed and hardwork from thrid-party pulishers, but it would be a nice tie-in.

I agree, unfortunately over the past few years Gamescom is just a weaker repeat of E3 and rarely surprises us with anything superior – we must remember we are in the EU and we are always neglected by software giants – it feels like discrimination however they argue it’s to do with supply and demand. Are 8+ million voices not enough to warrant some attention? Lol

Enjoy the show and please report when we are getting some early demos for the PS3 from the Xmas onslaught of games. R3,U3 & BF3 in particular thanks

there be a surprise announcement at gamescom a small 1 the only surprise i want is MGS-4 trophies.

I can’t wait for BF3 but don’t mock MW3. Yes MW3 is the same old thing, but the graphics overhaul & setting actually look good, still not going to buy it til next year though & i’m dead against the Elite too!
