PlayStation Store (via PS3, PSP and Media Go)
Hello Guys – it’s Wednesday and it’s PLAY time!
Yes, the first of the PlayStation Network PLAY titles launches this week in the form of Street Fighter III: Third Strike Online Edition. If you haven’t already pre-ordered the title you can grab it from today and get the GILL character unlock as part of the package.
Street Fighter III: Third Strike Online Edition, one of the most revered, deep, and sophisticated fighting games of all time, now takes the battle online. Fighting game fans new and old owe it to themselves to experience this mastery of 2D fighting. Throw down with enhanced HD-filtered graphics, arcade-perfect gameplay, GGPO seamless multiplayer, YouTube replay sharing, new art, and I am assured there is no Capcom Online DRM (for those of you who were worried).
If you have pre-ordered, after the publish today you can visit the PLAY section and download a bundle of the Trial/Unlock/DLC at no cost. You should also be receiving an email in the next day or two as a reminder.
And for those of you in Italy, Capcom (after discussion with us) has taken the decision to hold back the publish of SF III for you guys, which should only be for short time – this is because we are currently planning to involve Italy in the PLAY program, but without the pre-order element. I will keep you Italian consumers updated on this as much as possible but the plan is to provide you with the titles, free gifts and the chance to get a free copy of PAYDAY: The Heist too. I will update you with the status on this as soon as I can, but we are working on it.
So what else is publishing today? We’ve got lots. Plenty of trial and unlocks, we’ve got demos for PES 2012, NHL 12 and Space Marine (and we’ve made it available in Germany for Plus subscribers), there’s also a truck load of DLC (including some for White Knight Chronicle II) and loads of Street Fighter III avatars.
And don’t forget the PSP sale starting today – check out Andy’s post for the full listing, there should be something for everyone in either this bunch of offers or the next.
Okay I will be on and off for comments today and I’ll also be back for comments tomorrow, but if I get swamped Andy will step in.
See you all later on!

Any news on the Playstation Plus mid-month treats?
Posted on 24 August, 2011 at 2:01 pm by Ross McGrath
Aside from the new Studio themes this week, and 15% off the two Worms 2 packs, there’s nothing down for this week. I do believe you have something nice coming prior to the September 7th refresh though.

To Bealinator (or any one else)
You talk about me going on about Crash Bash all the time, when every time you are on here you ask the same question over and over again “ETA on Tombi.” Now how is that fair when you criticise me every week for asking for Crash Bash. At least Tombi, Resi evils and others are in QA and you will be getting them very soon, Crash Bash is not even in Q&A yet, it’s going to take at least 12 to 16 months to come on store.
The reason why I want Crash Bash is coz I have NEVER played the game before and it’s a classic, at least you have played Tombi, Resi evils and others. Lots of people love Crash Bash and have requested for it and just coz you prefer Tombi, don’t assume others do to.
The final point is Crash Bash should be a more priority than Tombi. You say its on eBay for lots of money, coz the developer only made and sold about 900,000 copies worldwide, in fact the two Tombi games did so poor that the developer Whoopee camp closed down after making two games, whilst Crash Bash was one of the best selling games of the PSone era and sold well over 4 million copies worldwide (not bad for a Party spinoff).
Now tell me which game deserves to be on the store first?
Posted on 24 August, 2011 at 2:20 pm by Ross McGrath
Hey all the PSone games we have in process are being lokoed at, I know Tombi and Crash Bash are in the same batch so it’s not a matter or priority or which one will come first – asking for one doesn’t stop work on the others, you have nothing to worry about.

If you are THAT desperate for Crash Bash then buy the game and a PS1 and stop moaning every single week.

Ross is the EA season ticket promotion just for the US or does it apply to us over here in the UK as well? Cheers

I believe that currently, we are not supporting the EA Season Ticket in SCEE territories. I don’t know if that will change or not.

Do you have any news on the Test Drive Unlimited 2 Exploration Pack?

What about the Pink Knight DLC like for the 10000000000th time?
Posted on 24 August, 2011 at 2:46 pm by Ross McGrath
I’ve been chasing it – we’re in contact with The Behemoth and I know they’ve recently submitted a new build of the Pink Knight DLC and it should be back in QA by now.

Yup, I’ll be playing some Street Fighter III. Was worried the graphics might get too messed up with like SSFII HD but they seem fine going by the demo I downloaded off the US store. Can even have it pixel sharp and add scanlines for a nice CRT monitor look. Cheers.
Posted on 24 August, 2011 at 2:47 pm by Ross McGrath
Yes, it’s a very complete version – there’s a lot of cool features and a couple of nice graphics filters in there to get the look you’re going for.

Hmmm …PES 2012?
I’ll try it but i aint hoping for much again – Now if someone could make a footy game anywhere near as good as pro evo on the ps1/ps2 i’d snatch their hands off.
Gutted that i dont like any footy games this gen (bar sensible soccer on XBLA) …This coming from someone who lives a breaths football. And someone who’d thought pro evo could never sink as low as it has.
Dont even get me started on FIFA.

Yay! White Knight Chronicles II DLC at last and it looks like there’s more to come as well based on what the JPN store has got.
Are these the extra knight colours? The description you’ve given doesn’t really explain what they are though it’s nice to see that they’re free as well.

Tried the Space Marine Demo yesterday in the evening. Looking forward to that game…
By the way, here might be a solution to the FSK18 Demo in Germany Debacle.
Sell a small theme to the german crowd with access to all the FSK16/18 (Pegi 16/18) Demos to come. Some kind of Season Pass…
Since it’s possible to prepurchase games on the store — or to sell Season Pass-plans that might be a quick solution UNTIL.
Because I feel left out, that only PLUS Subscribers can get the PEGI16 PEGI18 Demos…
It’s a problem since 6 years… so how about a solution…
What’s your stance on that Ross?

Hello Ross, a few questions:
1) I recently noticed Uncharted 2 DLC was cut in price, but when I go on it now it appears as though I haven’t bought it. It appears in my download history, but the red basket icon is no longer there. Would it be possible to fix this in case I get to download 1000 and can’t find the item on my download list?
2) Tombi? ETA?
3) Should have reported this a while ago, but there is an issue with Burnout Paradise. It seems that the game will suddenly auto-wipe your save file and force you to watch that annoying intro video which you can’t skip. Can you see if EA could patch this game?
Posted on 25 August, 2011 at 10:39 am by Andy Stewart
Hi Bealinator
1) You will have to contact customer services about this.
2) Sadly I don’t know but Ross is looking into it.
3) Again, this is one for customer services.
Sorry I can’t be of more help dude

Hi Ross, my copy of Deus Ex:HR Augmented Edition arrived early, do you know if the DLC code will work after the store publish today or should I wait until Friday?
Thanks
Posted on 25 August, 2011 at 10:41 am by Andy Stewart
Hi GothPunk
I would suggest waiting for Friday’s offical release before trying your code. If it does work before then that’s great but I can’t guarantee it will work before Friday.

And…not even a single PSP game released since June. That means infinitely more games released for iOS (1112 Episode 03 or Hector Episode 02 as an example of interesting games) this summer.
And the PSP sale doesn’t have anything by Square Enix.
Meanwhile, I just replaced the PS3 in my room by a Wii to play Xenoblade Chronicles, just for your info.

Hello Ross,
Still no Eta for Tombi ?
Is there a chance that we get Breath fo Fire 4 PSOne classics in the foreseeable future ?
(especially since it was released on the Jap AND Us store recently) I’ve mailed Capcom, but no answers so far …
How about a NIS sale soon ? (Disgaea 3 DLC, hint hint ^^)
BTW guys, Persona 3 Portable will be released on the store on september 7th:

Disney’s Cars 2: The Video Game (£47.99/€59.99)
Are they serious? Not that i want the game but this sort of pricing is ridiculous!
A quick google and i’ve halved the price. Better yet i can play it for 2 hours, get bored and sell it on and get most of my money back!
