Hello, SingStar friends,
Did you miss me? Was Chris nice to you while I was off? If not I will have words, you know! Hope you enjoyed the last update with songs from the likes of Rihanna, Katy B, Toto et al.
Gamescom was awesome. The SingStar stand at was mega busy (some pics below of people getting a first glimpse of the ‘Back to the 80s’ disc) and so were all sixteen pods we were showing our brand new DanceStar Party game off on. Queues everywhere!!!
Did any of you manage to come down and play? Can you see yourself on any of the pics? More news on all of the above very soon…
On to the SingStore:
Ok, maybe that’s just me but you know sometimes you read about and artist/song and think, ‘I have NO idea who/what this is’, then you listen to it and go, ‘I know this, I know this, I love it!’ Yep, happened to me with Neon Trees and ‘Animal’ today.
However, I had no problems recognising any of the others and I am especially fond of ‘Jessie’s Girl’ and its singer, Mr. Rick Springfield. I always thought he had a luscious head of hair.
Then there’s OK Go with ‘Here We Go Again’ which of course stands out because of the band’s creative use of running machines in the video alone. Note: you will only need microphones to play this and not invest in any further equipment. Up to you, of course.
I also need to mention Kid Cudi ‘Day ‘N’ Nite’ which comes with a dance add-on for good measure and if I may say so, I think could beat every single one of you in a dance-off having demoed it a LOT 
Excellent dance routine.

Yes, sorry, we are aware of some of you having issues with that and working with our colleagues at PSN to resolve this soon.
If you wanted to call customer service to get a refund, please do. If you want to hang on and keep the download, we’ll let you know when this is fixed and you can re-download (or re-purchase), up to you.

Well, some people just like the original videos, the scoring, the many game modes such as online battle, the community etc you just don’t have with a karaoke machine, I guess.

Haha, you are kidding right? Singstar is far superior than ordinary Karaoke. Singstar’s got the REAL songs, the REAL videos and it’s HIGH Quality! Seriously. You have no idea what you’re talking about. I would bring singstar to a Karaoke night with my friends any night over singing along with their MIDI versions off a song.
And NINA, Welcome back. When are you going to share the 80′s track list with us? Does it have anything in common with the two 80′s DLC packs that’s on Singstore?

The Everything I own song was from my dads funeral…. but the bread version… i still get it…. also getting train and jesse’s girl… ive been excited many weeks in a row….
someone wrote the song list down fron the video game confrence.. and all of them were either released or in the store already… maybe it was a hoax… found it on the forum… or was that just a taste to get everyone in the 80′s spirit?

Please answer this time, will there ever be Afrikaans Songs on the SingStore (new ones, not those on the disc), and if not can you at least say the chances of a Singstar Afrikaanse Treffers 2?
Also, are the online issues fixed yet? Im waiting for them to be fixed before I update

At least we are starting to get back to a couple of good releases – I’ll be getting Jessie’s Girl & Drops Of Jupiter. Would have got Kylie as well, but Australia is always getting snubbed with her stuff now (even though we got “Confide In Me” – go figure ?!?).
Most of the rest I hadn’t even heard of, so that’s a little disappointing, but I can live with at least two good release. Perhaps I’ll know them when I hear the demo.
More early 90s pop like Spaceman by Babylon Zoo – that one reminds me of getting blotto on $1 vodka & rasberries at my local club & my old hypercolor T-Shirt.

Nina, what I’d really want, is the sound on the points counter to have a lot lower volume! It’s really annoying when playing with high volume, when the counter sound is so freakin’ loud… Thanks in advance!

Hi Nina,
I really appreciated the Singstar update a few weeks back that gives the new filtering options for the song carousel.
The option to make downloaded songs hidden is brilliant when you just want to sing from a particular themed-disc, but this does not yet operate from within the Pass-the-mic competition modes. Do you know if this is being planned for a future update, and if not could you pass the request along please

Seriously, why you don’t update better songs? I mean, from this update I only know Kid Cudi and Lady Gaga and both are already in a disc. Why don’t update more commercial songs like Katy Perry, Madonna, Nickelback, James Blunt and a lot of others. Even cartoon songs would be funny. And you would make more money surely.

The song releases have been that bad i’ve only just fingured out the prices have gone up when did that happen?
does the person who runs the singstore update not like his job? who goes into a meeting and says ok guys were going to have a kyle song only ideas, Je Ne Sais Pas Pourquoi cracking that will do, honestly.
Why does somebody not just use there head and instead of month after month sorry guys we cannot get that song due to copyright issues not just publish everysong that you would be able to convert and get the stupid people like me who love singstar and would probably easily pay £40 a month (like a new game etc) for the songs i liked. So you publish the song, give us 2 week’s to vote and in a few weeks you do the update, then the next 2 weeks you do another vote and so on.
Would probably be the biggest selling game if you could do that.
If the guy doesn’t want his job please could i have it.

I downloaded 5 songs from this update. I received a receipt, the songs show up in the viewer under “My Singstore” with a check mark in the folder. If I try to hit X to download it makes a noise because they’re already downloaded. But when I put in Volume 2 the songs are not in the carousel. Also, when I go into “Delete songs” using the disc, they’re not listed. How do I fix this?
