Our MUBI updates have been absent for a while—meanwhile, we covered the Venice Film Festival and are now reporting from Toronto—so we thought we’d return with something special.
Not new films but new film festivals!
Over the next two weeks MUBI is collaborating with not one, not three but four terrific European film festivals, bringing films from their 2011 programs to MUBI audiences for a limited time for free.
Here’s the scoop:
September 14 – 18: Oldenburg Film Festival. We’re showing six titles worldwide for free!
September 15 – 25: Helsinki International Film Festival. We’re showing four titles worldwide for free!
September 15 – 25: Alpha-ville International Festival of Post-Digital Culture. Seven films worldwide and, yup you guessed it, free!
September 16 – 24: Queer Lisboa 15 Lisbon Gay and Lesbian Film Festival. Even titles, worldwide, free!
These are time-limited programs only folks—we can only show the films during the film festivals, so catch them while you can! Log into your MUBI PS3 app to see what’s playing.
Enjoy our Autumn film festival season extravaganza!

Jay for free movies
Just some suggestions on the MUBI interface:
1) It would save me a lot of time to have the option to view currently entitled movies, not just all movies in my area. (for freeloaders like me who hold out for a month subscribtion when they actually have time).
2) It would be nice to see which movies have a trailer. Right now you have to go in the details to see if a trailer is available. A special trailer browse option would be even better. (you could even add a ‘purchase/view now’ option after watching the trailer)
3) In general, sort by date added in pages would help a lot.

I‘m back forget what i said haveing a week off.
you may want to read this “new terms & conditions to sign to come”
http://www.thesixthaxis.com/2011/09/15/new-sony-terms-sign-away-lega l-right-to-sue/
let me tell you now if THIS goes ahead it‘s illegal illegal illegal your not above the law it will still go to court up with the judge & laugh out of court.
always changeing the goal post, if this goes ahead let‘s see how many ppl will leave you.
I‘m always cynical with sony this proves it…
1 broken promises & lies
2 lack of content. (SCEA & SCEJ Better)
3. This new T&C
there is a out opt in but that is all, it a cynical ploy to cover themselves against taking out features or other means.
god help us against this New T&C when they took out Ps2 BC & linux.
so i think a blog post is in order.

on a side note i like with many others always accept T&C with-out read it thought it long, longwinded to complex for me to understand it.
i probably will accept it under protest can’t be arse to write to say it‘s our legal right.
so if you decide sony you feel to remove a feature we given up our rights to sue you “a companies dream”

Thx for the festival update, guess I know what I’ll be watching over the next 5 days.
@ Skookie30
whilst I understand your concerns about Sony’s t&c, may I put it to you that your conclusions might be off?
reason being, to date I don’t think anybody has successfully sued for PS2 bc or other OS, if you want PS2 bc get an original 60gig fat PS3 and swap in a bigger hdd, It ishould now to be considered as an limited edition which is why they sell for high prices now, its also a generous return for those who purchased the first PS3 at astronomical prices, also do you think the PS3 would retail for under £200 if it had bc?
As for otherOS……not a court in the world would rule in favour about its removal after the PS3 and PSN was hacked, or even if they removed it to allow move support or whatever.
BTW I don’t love Sony I just love the products.
also what is the relevence to this mubi post? (any typos, blame Android)

I see your point, on a other post i did say i read more in depth yesterday on EG but i‘m puzzle you say no court will rule in linux favor being remove.
& also about Ps2 BC no-one ever won if that the case then why this New T&C is to stop it from happening.
but no good if no-one won but i‘ sure some ppl won & cost sony some money.
you get a better chance to win in a class action lawsuits then faceing them alone.
just youselfs Vs a big company= No chance, i remember geohotz in the end he reach a agreement with sony i think he was not in a class action because he ask for money.
in short since i read it again & since i never sue ppl 1st you need loads of money that is a deterrent for me.
why on here because it was on the top of the list at that time, so will i accept it when it comes? answer Yes.
Will i write to sony within 30 days? answer inpending

otherOS was removed, not Linux and if you want bc get an original PS3 60 gig with hardware support, they can alter their software as it is their creation.
