Being the creator of the Rocketbirds and being the only European team member of Ratloop (I’m the Belgian) it gives me great pleasure to post something here about our upcoming cinematic platform game, titled “Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken”!

Rocketbirds gets its stylistic influences from the European comics I read when I was growing up – When I started reading comics, it was Ravian, Tin Tin, Asterix, Storm, Lucky Luke, then later, as a teenager (and beyond), I started following comic book artists such as Jean Giraud, Simon Bisley and Jamie Hewlitt. I’d always liked reading the absurdist tales of the 2000 AD comics (Judge Dredd, ABC Warriors etc.), so I decided to tell a dark, absurdist tale of my own in Rocketbirds.

Ruin for PS Vita: Lairs, Relics, and the Social Web

Ruin is still early in development, but it’s being eagerly anticipated for its PS Vita-to-PS3 cross-compatibility, addictive action-RPG gameplay, and expansive social features.

Ruin (working title) was last seen on the E3 2011 PlayStation stage, when the presenter wirelessly transferred his PS Vita game session to a PS3 without missing a frame of the action. As technically impressive as Ruin’s cross-platform compatibility is, I’ve learned that it’s only the beginning of what co-developers Idol Minds and SCE San Diego Studios are planning for this ambitious multiplayer action-RPG.

Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One Luminopolis Trailer

EnglishSelect a Language:

One of the frequent questions we get is how the evil Dr. Nefarious ended up with Ratchet, Clank, and President Qwark. We actually explain this at the beginning of the game: Ratchet, Clank and Qwark have arrived on the planet of Luminopolis so that now Galactic President Qwark can pick up an Intergalactic Tool of Justice Award. Of course, there is no such award as it’s all an elaborate ruse by Dr. Nefarious to lure our heroes into a trap. Dr. Nefarious’s plan goes awry, and when your plan involves a giant light-eating Z’Grute, you know it’s going to be bad. Nefarious realises he has no choice but to begrudgingly help our heroes to save his own skin.

As part of our gameplay series of videos, we wanted to show you some of the spectacular bosses and co-op moments that you’ll find when you play Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One. This video shows you the sequence starring the Z’Grute, as it terrorises the city of Luminopolis.

We hope you are as excited as we are about Ratchet and Clank‘s first four-player co-op adventure. It’s only a few weeks away, so to stay up to date on all the latest news, be sure to Follow Insomniac Games on Twitter and Like Us on Facebook.

Chun Li - LBP Street Fighter Costume

LittleBigPlanet creators, here’s your chance to get your masterpieces out to the masses and perhaps pick up some of those chest-warming Hearts along the way.

We did this a few months ago and the idea is simple: you post lbp.me links to your creations in the comments section below, I play all of them on Saturday morning with a bucket of coffee and then I’ll tweet my favourites from @PlayStationEU, meaning they’ll go out out to 180,000+ people, not counting retweets. It’s like having the SCEE marketing team promoting your creations (well, my laptop and I).

Seeing as the LBP2 Move Pack just came out, there are legitimate bonus points going out to those eager beagles with their fingers and toes on the motion control pulse.

If you haven’t used lbp.me before, it’s as easy as tickling. Just sign in with your PSN ID to see all of the levels that you have published, played and hearted, and generally find out what’s going down in the creating community. You can also view other people’s levels and add them to your queue so that they’re ready and waiting next time you boot up the game on your PS3. To help you practice, I’ve made a laughably terrible game minigame called the Kitten Chucking Challenge. Oh how I wish I was better.

So there you have it! Creators start posting your levels in the comments and, if like me you don’t have that kind of brain then play along with me. I’ll be tweeting how I get on via @PlayStationEU and @Jallagher.

Mercury Hg Coming To PSN Next Week

Countries: , , , ,

Introduction

If you enjoy casual, pick up and play puzzle games, then get ready for an experience, because Mercury Hg is going to rock – and roll. From the developers of Polar Panic and Arctic Adventures comes an update to a PSP classic.

Periodic History

Mercury is a liquid metal at room temperature and pretty toxic substance to play with, unless it’s done digitally of course. The core premise is to ‘simply’ guide a blob of mercury around a tilting puzzle maze, whilst collecting bonuses, reach the finish with as much of the blob as possible and do so in the fastest time possible. Mercury was first released on the PSP in 2005, updated again in 2006/7 as Mercury Meltdown and is now released in HD format as Mercury Hg – pun intended, as a few keen observers have already noticed.
