First, we are very happy to announce the dates for the eagerly awaited Battlefield 3 Open Beta. The Beta is open to all and will run from September 29th to October 10th. You can join it by simply going to the going the PlayStation Store and navigating to the Demos section, followed by the Latest PlayStation Demos option – from there you’ll see the link to download the Battlefield 3 demo!

Alternatively, if you have redeemed a Medal of Honor: Limited Edition or Tier 1 Edition Online Pass, you will receive early access via a personal email invitation from DICE that includes 48 hour early access, which allows you to start playing on September 27th.

The Open Beta is your chance to play Battlefield 3 early, try out our free social platform Battlelog, and give your valued feedback directly to those of us at DICE. You participating in the Battlefield 3 Open Beta means that you are not only helping us load test the servers, but more importantly helping us fine-tune the final components of the multiplayer game.

During your time in the Open Beta, you’ll be playing on the map Operation Métro – a map you might have seen coverage of from E3, where we won the Best Multiplayer Game award.

But that’s not all for our PlayStation fans! You’ll be happy to know that, starting with our first expansion pack Battlefield 3: Back to Karkand (released later this year), all full-blown upcoming expansion packs for the game will appear one week early exclusively on PlayStation 3!

As you may or may not have heard, Battlefield 3: Back to Karkand is a themed expansion pack containing four of the most loved maps from Battlefield 2, boldly reimagined in the Frostbite 2 engine. It also features new weapons and vehicles, unique in-game dog tags, new persistence, and new Trophies.

The response so far has been overwhelming, and we look forward to showing you more action from Battlefield 3 before the European launch on October 28th.

Hi there, I’m Darren and I’ve got some exciting new PlayStation Home news to talk to you about. If you haven’t been in Home for a while then it’s time to hit the reset button as we’re about to shake things up this autumn!

We’ve been working hard to deliver to Home more of what you know and love on your PS3 – games! Very soon, as part of our shift toward transforming Home into the biggest and best social gaming service on any console, we will be launching a new core Home experience and Home Square will be changing – changing for the better. Already our cousins in SCEA have revealed the next step in the evolution of Home and we’d like to talk about what you can expect in Europe.

On Thursday 22nd September from 8AM BST PlayStation Home will be briefly offline for scheduled maintenance. Here are some details on what to expect after the update.

Audi are delighted to announce the release of their new game in the Audi Home Terminal. Become the Audi Gecko, avoid hazards, get the powerups, increase your score and see how far you can go! Try to beat the hi-scores on the global leaderboard as you battle to unlock 9 trophies in the new Audi Gecko Reward Cabinet for your personal spaces. Stay sticky!

The Lockwood Publishing Showcase is scheduled to launch soon! Visit Caramel in the Plaza for a limited time Lockwood Emote reward and don’t forget to head over to the Showcase Lobby to pick up your FREE shopping bag in preparation for opening night.

Got an eighties training montage to complete but lack the suitable attire? Not anymore! Slip into the Retro Fitness shorts and bodywarmer and pound those stairs. Made it to the top? Well what are you waiting for guys? Get back down there! Rock hard abs don’t make themselves.
