Select AC: Revelations Discs Include The Original AC

Countries: , , , ,

Hey there PlayStation Assassins!

We have something really exciting to announce today: thanks to a special partnership with Sony, we are offering a full version of the original Assassin’s Creed for free if you’re one of the first to buy Assassin’s Creed Revelations! Supplies are somewhat limited, however, so you’ll need to act quickly (pre-ordering might help ;D) in order to take advantage of this special offer.

As you know, Assassin’s Creed Revelations will see Ezio follow in the footsteps of the legendary Assassin Mentor Altaïr Ibn-La’Ahad on a quest to understand the true nature of what it means to be an Assassin. To prepare you for this journey, we thought it might be a good idea for you to have the game that started it all on-hand just in case you needed a quick refresher on Altaïr’s history.

To further ensure that you are completely up to date on the lore of Assassin’s Creed, we’ll also be discounting Assassin’s Creed II and Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood by 30% in the PlayStation Store!

Hiya,
I think we can safely say that summer is (sadly) over but of course that doesn’t stop us here at SingStar. If you have been out and about enjoying the last warm rays of sunlight you might not be aware that we just announced the full tracklist for the ‘Back To The 80s’ SingStar disc this week.

What? You missed it? Don’t worry, just head over to singstar.com and you’ll find out all about the songs that are included on the disc. Hope you like what you see!

And while we’re at it, we thought we might as well reveal the tracklist for our brand new dance game, aptly named DanceStar Party, too. It just seemed fair ☺! It’s out in October and includes 40 hits, 160 dances and much much more cool stuff – find out all about it here (link to blog announcement).

In the SingStore this week we have all the songs from the very popular ‘Songs From Andrew Lloyd Webber‘ song pack and I know a few of you have been awaiting them eagerly.

PlayStation.Blog Recap

Countries: , , , ,

Tokyo Game Show took place last week and, while I didn’t manage to get out there this year, I followed the news online and was excited to hear that my second favourite series, MGS, is coming to PlayStation Vita in the form of the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection. I also spotted that a Zone of the Enders HD Collection is coming to the handheld but I never caught those games first time around. What are they all about?

What do you think about the Final Fantasy X HD remake coming to PS3 and PS Vita? I know that game tends to divide FF fans but I personally enjoyed it and it’s the only one in the series I have completed. My pick for ‘one to watch that you might not be watching yet’ is Rayman Origins, coming to PS3 and PS Vita. I checked it out at E3 and it’s a great combo of stylish graphics and cute co-op mechanics.

Finally, it’s the Eurogamer Expo next week and I’m thinking of popping along on either the Thursday or the Friday. MusterBuster has asked me to let you know that, if you’re attending too, you can register for a Fast Track ticket over on the PlayStation Access Facebook page. Basically, it means you’ll be able to jump the queue and get your hands on PlayStation Vita, and if gamescom is anything to go by, it’s going to be a long queue…

Here’s your recap:

The Weekend Debate: Vintage or Vinegar?

Countries: , , , ,

With God of War Collection Volume II launching this week, ICO & Shadow of the Colossus Classics HD just around the corner, and series such as Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil and Final Fantasy getting facelifts in the near future, we are in the age of the remake and Memory Lane is a whorl. How do you feel about this?

From time to time, I’ll boot up my original PlayStation and raid the game archive here at SCEE HQ and it’s interesting to observe which titles have aged well and which less so. Some of my favourite games from the age now seem angular and clunky, while some that were barely on my radar hold up well. Shaq Fu is the only one no better or worse than the day it released.

Which games have aged particularly well or particularly badly, and what aspects of the games are the most common deciding factors?

There it is: which titles do you keep in the cellar and which do you splash on your chips? The 15 most interesting comments, as decided by an independent judge, will receive a voucher code to download God of War Collection Volume II from PlayStation Store. As usual, the code will be sent via private message at community.eu.playstation.com.

Best of luck!
