I’m Jeff, one of the writers and producers at indie games company Mediatonic, you may remember us from such audacious adventures as “Monsters (Probably) Stole My Princess” and “Who’s That Flying?!” – and now we’re massively excited to reveal details of our THIRD, rum-soaked minis title – 1000 Tiny Claws!
This is my first post for Starhawk on the SCEE Blog so hello from Austin, Texas! We’ve got something wicked to show you today — The extended Space Combat Trailer for Starhawk!
So this video was cut together by our team in San Diego, California and was captured from gameplay on our CTF-Small Orbital Platform map. The trailer gives a really great taste of what our space combat is like in Starhawk! You may have seen some of our previous gameplay vids that were recorded on one of our Acid Sea maps with it’s cool looking terrain and jagged spires, blah, blah, blah. But what’s really awesome about the Orbital Space Platform maps is that they feel very urban like city and street combat and that’s something that we’re really happy about! (more…)
Hey everyone! It’s been a while since we visited these hallowed halls to talk about our upcoming PS3 and PS Vita game Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath HD. If you’ve been following the game’s development closely, you may have caught our announcement that we delayed the release of Stranger’s Wrath HD on the PS3 into the summer from its intended spring release. While summer is almost at an end, we wanted to tell you that the game is in the final part of development right now. We’re in beta and fixing bugs, and doing some last-minute optimizing where we can.
It’s been a long road for us, and we’ve made a whole truck full of updates. We’ve updated EVERY one of 83 characters in the game, the vast majority of the environmental textures, and a lot of the environment geometry. We’ve also completely updated the user interface, added some easter eggs into the game, and a whole raft of unlockable extras — some never seen before, and some rarely seen.
To celebrate being at the end of the development cycle for Stranger’s Wrath, we wanted to share this trailer with you. The trailer looks great but the game looks better: you just can’t capture 60 frames-per-second action in a web trailer!
We hope you enjoy the trailer and we’ll be back very soon to share full release details with you.
Our MUBI updates have been absent for a while—meanwhile, we covered the Venice Film Festival and are now reporting from Toronto—so we thought we’d return with something special.
Not new films but new film festivals!
Over the next two weeks MUBI is collaborating with not one, not three but four terrific European film festivals, bringing films from their 2011 programs to MUBI audiences for a limited time for free.
These are time-limited programs only folks—we can only show the films during the film festivals, so catch them while you can! Log into your MUBI PS3 app to see what’s playing.
Enjoy our Autumn film festival season extravaganza!
On Thursday 15th September from 8AM BST PlayStation Home will be briefly offline for scheduled maintenance. Here are some details on what to expect after the update.
The Tokyo Game Show will be hitting Home this Thursday, featuring footage from this year’s press conference and some free rewards for all who attend. The space will be available on the Navigator until the 29th September and we will be updating the videos within the space throughout that time so be sure to check back! (more…)
