Finally! But nothing for me :(

something something WHERE ARE THE PS2 GAMES something something

AaronSOLDIER 5 October, 2011 @ 5:03 pm   3

Except maybe Crysis, do I have to be signed in to PSN at all times to play like the 360 version?

Triforce-1976 5 October, 2011 @ 5:03 pm   4

Great update. Any news for ppl in the netherlands about free realms?
I have leeched it from the UK store and it works, but it sucks that you cant unlock it. So your stuck at lvl5 and no trophys.

    Andy Stewart 5 October, 2011 @ 5:13 pm

Sadly Free Realms will not release in the Netherlands because the game does not accomidate these languages. Will it be available in the future I don’t know.

are we ever getting the Nis america avatars or hyperdimension nepthunia?

devilwithoutfear 5 October, 2011 @ 5:04 pm   6

I thought we were also supposed to get PS2 classics?

Dante_Zero 5 October, 2011 @ 5:04 pm   7

free RE4 avatars for RE4 purchasers? any response? thanks

thorgrimm 5 October, 2011 @ 5:04 pm   8

Free realms isn’t available for belgium but it should.

JonnyPauz 5 October, 2011 @ 5:04 pm   9

Free Portal 2 DLC, yay.

loonytoon1982 5 October, 2011 @ 5:04 pm   10

For those who will ask:

Borderlands plus all DLC download is 7866MB, the main game is 3345MB

Arc the Lad is whole in Japanese. Quite fail this time.

    Andy Stewart 5 October, 2011 @ 5:17 pm

Why is this a fail? You wanted Japanese Imports, you got them. Of course they come in Japanese because they are Japanese games.

KylieDog 5 October, 2011 @ 5:05 pm   12

Arc the Lad is in japanese. I cannot read this and since it is an RPG I cannot play it either.

Get rid of it, gives us something we can play please. This is not acceptable as our monthly PS1 game.

    Andy Stewart 5 October, 2011 @ 5:19 pm

You have 4 PSone classic to buy (see above) unless you are talking about PS PLUS and then i suggest you head over to the PS PLUS blog post.

thanks for all the replies last week Andy, good to see the blog get some love. Any chance the plus post could enjoy some of the same?

is there any news on when res evil 2 and 3 might make it over through import?

    Andy Stewart 5 October, 2011 @ 5:20 pm

Ross does the PLUS blog, not me. I don’t know enough to be responible to comment on it, sorry.

As for Res Evil 2 & 3, this has been requested since the beginning of time and we should see it eventually but I can’t say when.

#12 Yes, that made me laugh, unbelievable really

LONG LIVE PLAY.

polynski 5 October, 2011 @ 5:07 pm   16

saints row 2…homefront and a borderlands price slash? are the publishers feeling ok? best update ever (literally)

Jacko_the_lad 5 October, 2011 @ 5:07 pm   17

I couldn’t resist that Borderlands price.

Sexy low prices.

Can’t really call this a Heads-Up when its already up. Will be getting Crysis and trying NBA and Eulforia not a bad update for once.

AAA999111 5 October, 2011 @ 5:08 pm   19

finally Yakuza Dead Souls confirmed , cant wait for it

Nice one.
What size is Crysis? Very eager to play it.

Martingutten 5 October, 2011 @ 5:10 pm   21

Crysis got wrong price. Should be 160, not 200NOK. I NEVER buy these wrong priced games in Norway, and there are A LOT of them. Get you S together, this is in fact on the edge of legal in according to EEA laws. If you do not give us right prices you are bound to law to give us easy access to UK or other european stores, so we can use their prices.

Allso, where is PS2 games, or is this (also) US only? Same goes for quite a few games, and such.
Also, why do we not get the same pricereduction as US for a lot of the games out last week and this? are you not gonna offer PLUS anymore in europe, or are you just liking giving us less than our american brothers? (maybe americans are just better at their work than the european plus-brothers)

PREYDRAGON 5 October, 2011 @ 5:10 pm   22

You have Destruction Derby ps1 classic on PSN, so will we see Destruction Derby 2 and Destruction Derby Raw? DO you know any news or could find out for me on the situation of these 2.

polynski 5 October, 2011 @ 5:10 pm   23

strange now that andy has taken over the content has improved is the actually down to you andy? cuz keep it up :)

About Mortal Kombat:
Hello there,
I have one question:
Is there someone of the community managers that knows when the 1.05 patch will come out on PSN? This because it has been out in North-America/XBL for the passed two weeks. This can provide some problems for tournament players as they can’t practice for their next tournament, while other (N-A PSN/XBL) players had more practice.
It’s really important for them, there are lot of character specific changes and changes in general gameplay. If people can’t practice, they are in disadvantage (so why would they bother paying entrance for a tournament). It is negative for the game, PSN and especially for tournament organisers and players.
Sorry if I sound rude, any information on this matter would be welcome. Please community managers, help us out. It would already help to give us an ETA…
Thanks.

asparagus_hunter 5 October, 2011 @ 5:11 pm   25

Evening, couple of queries:

1) Access TV says Resi 5 Gold Edition is out now, but there’s no sign of it on the store. Is this planned for the near future?

2) Arc the Lad is in Japanese, when the blog post from Monkey Paw earlier on stated it was meant to be English. Will this be rectified?

Cheers :)

    Andy Stewart 5 October, 2011 @ 5:25 pm

    1) That is because there was an error with the game, it should be back very shortly (hopefully next week but can’t confirm yet)

    2) I will look into this, it was my understanding that Japanese Imports would be in Japanese as its the orignal game but if Monkey Paw are saying something different then I will ask them. If you have the link for the blog post that would be awesome.

WilliamBirkin 5 October, 2011 @ 5:11 pm   26

Xenogears? Comming next week?

Gamerwillz 5 October, 2011 @ 5:11 pm   27

No Resident Evil 2 & 3… US PS Store have them but why not us?

I hope they are coming. I want to buy them!

PS, keep up the good work. ;)

    Andy Stewart 5 October, 2011 @ 5:27 pm

it’s a technical thing which I don’t really understand myself… However we should see them in the not too distant fture but I don’t know exactly when.

NettoNova 5 October, 2011 @ 5:12 pm   28

No God Hand or Odin Sphere? I am disappoint.

well at least people will stop going on about this post not being up.

thanks for the heads up on borderlands andy had the money waiting for it after the slip up last week.

any more slip ups what can we expect next week ;)

    Andy Stewart 5 October, 2011 @ 5:29 pm

Well… Lets just say that there is a game franchise which when abbrevated is also the name of a loved british dish, that has a sale next week.

xx_Tooms109_xx 5 October, 2011 @ 5:12 pm   30

Any chance of the MERCURY HG content any time soon?

Our american friends already have it – Usually this doesnt bother me.
But the leaderboards for overall time/score are messed up.

Because the euro gamers only have access to 60 levels, whilst USA gamers have 90.Giving them an unfair advantage on scores & times.
Euro gamers have no chance of catching them withou the add on content.

And for a game based on scores this is not good.

    Andy Stewart 5 October, 2011 @ 5:30 pm

I agree this is not good, I will contact the relevent people, find out what is going on.

Suzzopher 5 October, 2011 @ 5:13 pm   31

Are we getting the advertised English Arc the Lad Monkey Paw posted about?

Cloudedpaul 5 October, 2011 @ 5:13 pm   32

here we go again, so when should we expect to see ps2 games? or should we just abandon hope now? be honest, are they even comming?

    Andy Stewart 5 October, 2011 @ 5:33 pm

They are coming, soon, very soon. I can’t confirm when yet but soon.

polynski 5 October, 2011 @ 5:13 pm   33

andy could u hint if croc is ever coming our way? as part of the new imports system maybe

run Andy, the angry mob is on its way

ps. its not a ‘heads-up’ anymore if its posted an hour after the store got updated :P

Why no Resident Evil 2 or 3 still???? US has had them for months but us nooooooo, how annoying – _ -

VictorAnalogy 5 October, 2011 @ 5:15 pm   36

Waah waah waah! I want import games, gimme import games!

What do you mean games that are imported are different languages!?!? Waaaaaaah!

Who would have thought that stuff from other countries might not be in a language you can’t read? Shocking.

ps andy i think you better get a mod to look at the plus update post descended into madness a bit in there

NoOoOoOoOoOoOo :D I want ‘Speedball 2′ NOW! ! ! :P (its on the other post, the ‘PlayStation Plus’ one) But i haven’t got PSN+ :-/ When can i buy it without having to have PSN+? Next week hopefully? ;)

+ Will ‘GODS’ by the ‘Bitmap Brothers’ be coming to PSN to? And any of their other classic Amiga games? I REALLY HOPE SO:P

+ No PS2 classics like the US store got yesterday?

Sir_Gunnalot 5 October, 2011 @ 5:16 pm   39

Third time’s a charm (maybe I should stop posting this comment at about page 6)

Since “the competition” have all the Sonic the Hedgehog Megadrive classics (1,2,3,& Knuckles and Spinball), and we have Sonic Adventure and Sonic 4 (and Sonic CD is incoming), I was just wondering if there is any word on the last of the Sonic Megadrive games coming to the PSN? We don’t have Sonic & Knuckles or Sonic Spinball, while Xbox Live and Steam do.

epicgamer0 5 October, 2011 @ 5:16 pm   40

why is the god of war collection volume 2 still not available in the store for new zealand? its in retail.

why is homefront not available in the store for new zealand?

the section 8 prejudice dlc is available in the store but not the game please try and resolve the issue.

    Andy Stewart 5 October, 2011 @ 5:43 pm

I am getting God OF War collection 2 sorted out for you, might take a week but we will get it on the NZ store for you.

as for the rest, its up to the publishers but I will voice your complaints.

Weasel-Dave 5 October, 2011 @ 5:16 pm   41

Eufloria is great, Arc the Lad would be if in English, but who would pay nearly £60 for Tiger Woods 2012 when you can get it second hand for as little as £15?!! CRAZY!!

vickaz91 5 October, 2011 @ 5:16 pm   42

hi gd update but please please please give us spyro on psn iam getting board of asking every week and no reply i understand your busy but seriously the us had it for a long time we then got spyro 1 but had it taken of what is up with that lol get them back please please its the one game i miss so much lol

Robsonmonkey 5 October, 2011 @ 5:16 pm   43

Andy will we ever get Looney Tunes games like

Sheep, Dog N Wolf
Bugs Bunny Lost in Time
Bugs Buny and Taz: Time Busters

?

    Andy Stewart 5 October, 2011 @ 5:40 pm

Probably not to be honest… Depends who owns the rights to the games.

Sir_Gunnalot 5 October, 2011 @ 5:16 pm   44

Sorry, forgot to mention the best of the lot, we don’t have Sonic 3 either :(

@12 i dont see your point in saying Fail at the imports?

they clearly stated when they said they were coming that these are games ripped in the original language.

i think the fail this time is on you for not reading the blog correctly and assuming everything is spoon fed to you in your native language.

dont like it, dont get it. simple as that

devil_spawn666 5 October, 2011 @ 5:18 pm   46

Nothing for me this week, but I do have a couple of questions;

Some of the prices seem exorbitantly high for digital games (Tiger Woods 12 at £57.99/€69.99) where it is routinely found cheaper on the high street and other online retailers.

Who sets these prices for content on the PS Store, and where can we find details on how many digital copies are sold at these ridiculous prices?

    Andy Stewart 5 October, 2011 @ 5:44 pm

That information is not for public knowledge. Sorry I can’t help you with this.

PREYDRAGON 5 October, 2011 @ 5:18 pm   47

Andy could you ask Ross on the situation with fat princess pink knight DLC.

Suzzopher 5 October, 2011 @ 5:19 pm   48

“MonkeyPaw Games is also proud to release the first game in the Arc the Lad series, one of the longest-selling RPGs of the PS one era. This classic is in English only and will be the start of many RPGs to come to the PlayStation Network Classic section. Join us as we bring you a taste of Japanese gaming that you’ve never experienced.”

http://blog.eu.playstation.com/2011/10/04/three-games-for-the-launch-of-the-playstation-network-import-section/

Arc the Lad is meant to be in English.

    Andy Stewart 5 October, 2011 @ 5:45 pm

Right then… looks liek I better have a chat with Monkey Paw.

    Thanks for the info.

Nerdkiller316PSN 5 October, 2011 @ 5:19 pm   49
