SOCOM: Special Forces DLC Packs Incoming

Countries: , , , ,

The SOCOM franchise is a long and storied one, and today we’re very happy to announce that we’re revisiting its past and bringing back what is perhaps the series’ most popular mode, “Demolition”, alongside this much loved mode you will get new maps weapons and character skins as well!

For those that haven’t experienced “Demolition” before, each team vies for control of a bomb placed on the map. Once a team grabs the bomb, they need to carry it into the opposing team’s base, arm the bomb and defend it until the base is destroyed.

The Demolition Pack includes four new maps, two of which are returning classics — “Bitter Jungle” and “Ruins”. All four of these maps support not only the Demolition game type but many of the retail competitive modes as well. Additionally, six of the existing maps will support the Demolition game type, making for 10 total Demolition maps. Additionally, the Demolition Pack also includes two new weapons, the HS-C3 and 552, as well as six new multiplayer skins to choose from.

Need For Speed The Run Demo Coming Tomorrow

Countries: , , , ,

As PlayStation fans may or may not know, Need for Speed The Run is an illicit high-stakes cross-country race from San Francisco to New York. You’ll be playing as Jack, who is a marked man and his only way out is to battle other 200 racers for a sweet $25 million dollar prize.

Starting October 19th, PS3 owners can get their hands on The Run demo! Featuring the monster Lamborghini LP550-2 Valentino Balboni, and the brand new Porsche Carrera S, the demo will let you open them up in two locations in the US. (As a side note, don’t forget that if you live in the US, Canada or the UK, you can win the new Carrera S in real life just by logging into your EA account!)

Desert Hills will have you jockeying for position through the sweeping Nevada highways, while Independence Pass presents an entirely different challenge. An avalanche bears down on your Lambo (or Porsche) as you dice it up against an Audi R8, avoiding falling boulders and the onslaught of snow that’s right on your rear bumper. At that point it’s not so much about winning as it is surviving!

All of your times are tracked using Need For Speed’s Autolog feature, allowing you to challenge your PSN friends and beat their times.

Not only that, but UK fans have the chance to win some Need for Speed goodies every day of the demo! You’ll just need a twitter account and proof of you beating a time of 2:41.24 while in 1st place. Check out the official details here.

Legend Of Heroes: Trails In The Sky Coming To PSP On 4 November

Countries: , , , ,

Hi again. Today I’m going to talk to you a little about Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky which will be released on PSP in Europe on the 4th November 2011 as a Collector’s Edition for £39.99.

Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky is the first game in a trilogy of Legend of Heroes games. The story follows the adventures of Estelle Bright, the daughter of Cassius Bright, and his adopted son Joshua, both of whom are junior members of the Bracers Guild, a mercenary group sworn to protect the people of the world.

Ainal1

When their father Cassius, a war hero, leaves on a mission, Estelle and Joshua must take over his work in their hometown. The game’s fantastic dialogue makes this a charming prologue and this charm never disappears as the scope of the story gradually expands from simple beginnings into a tense climax, as the young Bracers must uncover a conspiracy to overthrow the government of Liberl.

Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky is set in a fantasy world where the combustion engine never caught on due to the Orbal Revolution. Instead, Orbments provide power for everything from magic to telephones and airships.

Sightseeing-Airship

The game boasts a fascinating combat system where the key to victory is strategically managing the Turn Order using buffs, debuffs and – should you have sufficient SP – interrupts.

The game also features an amazing soundtrack which is available on CD as part of the Collector’s Edition. But, more than anything else, it’s the characters you meet and the sheer quality of the writing and dialogue which have really impressed me.

movie7

Despite telling a serious story, Trails in the Sky manages to be the funniest game I’ve played all year, which reminds me…

A little hint before I go: make sure to check every treasure chest twice – you’ll be glad that you did.

SingStore Update (19 October) Including Kelly, Tinchy And Dusty

Countries: , , , ,

Hi all,

Good weekend? It was ‘scorchio’ in London on Saturday so hope you all had a nice last Indian Summers Day wherever you were. Enough about the weather!

Not a big update this week but there are some quality tracks in there in my opinion. There’s Kelly Clarkson, Blondie and Dusty, keeping it all girlie, plus the boys also get a look in in the shape of The Offspring, REO Speedwagon and Tinchy Stryder & Dappy. Enjoy.

Also launching this week is our new dance game DanceStar Party. Find out all about it on the www.dancestarparty.com website. It’s really quite good, you know :-) !
